Chapter 276: Chapter 275: I Will Definitely Take Good Care of It

Shen Yue had noticed the three females when she walked in. Now, watching them sneak away, she stood up and looked teasingly at Mu Silin, Ye Lüqi, and the other men.

"Your guests are leaving. Aren’t you going to see them off?"

The men’s handsome faces instantly tensed.

Before they could even speak, Liu Bao chimed in. "Those three bad women are finally gone! Female mother, they come to our yard every day, and I don’t like them. I only like you, female mother."

The little one spoke with such conviction, his small face etched with sincerity. It was as if he was determined to draw a clear line and show Shen Yue that no woman other than her could ever sway him.

Hearing this, the other little cubs—Dabao and Si Bao included—all scrambled to state their own positions before Mu Silin or Ye Lüqi could get a word in, chirping over one another:

"That’s right! I don’t like them either! I won’t talk to any female except you, female mother!" Si Bao declared.

"Me too! I even told them off just now," added Er Bao. "They wanted to take care of me, but I don’t want them to! I only want my female mother!"

Shen Yue felt herself enveloped in love, and for a moment, the entire world seemed wonderful.

Her babies gave all their affection and love to her, as if she were their entire world. No one could ever divert the slightest bit of their attention.

This, in its own way, was the sense of security they gave her.

She was bursting with happiness. ’Her babies are such sweet-talkers, one more than the next. I love them so, so much.’

"Alright, I understand," she said, her voice warm. "You are all my best, most beloved treasures."

Meanwhile, Mu Silin, Ye Lüqi, and the other men watched the cubs’ performance, terrified that Shen Yue would get the wrong idea.

Mu Silin spoke first. "Shen Yue, please don’t misunderstand. I would never do anything to hurt you. As a general, I swear I will never give another female a second glance."

Ye Lüqi jumped in immediately. "And me! I’m not like some people who go around flirting!"

As he said this, he shot a pointed glance at Bai Chaosi, leaving no doubt as to who he meant. 𝖿𝖗ⅇℴ𝑚

"While you were away, some of the neighboring females did come by to drop things off, but I never even gave them a proper look, let alone accept anything from them!"

Bai Chaosi’s expression remained calm, though he never thought he’d one day become a cautionary tale and the target of someone else’s posturing.

He sighed internally. ’Is this the karmic price for my actions these past few days?’

Gu Fangqi, with his bewitching red hair, didn’t speak, but his proud and aloof demeanor said it all: he wasn’t the kind of man just any woman could get close to.

As for Si Muye, he simply looked at her and said, "A Yue, you know me. I would never have improper thoughts about any other woman."

Shen Yue watched as the men declared their loyalty one after another, and she had to suppress a laugh.

’I didn’t even say anything, yet they’re all reporting to me as if I’m doing a spot check on them.’

She had only been joking when she asked.

Of course she knew that Mu Silin, Ye Lüqi, and the rest were all far too proud and arrogant to look at just anyone. They would never get casually involved with other females.

She cleared her throat.

"Alright, alright. I didn’t say a thing. Why is everyone so nervous?"

Just then, a little purple, fluffy rabbit suddenly hopped out from behind her.

It seemed to have been hiding there for a while. It pressed close to Shen Yue’s ankle, its little tail twitching.

Dabao was the first to spot it. "Female mother, what’s that?"

The others noticed it too, their eyes widening in surprise.

"Ooh, a little rabbit!"

"Female mother, where did the rabbit come from?" ℯ

’Did she catch it for us to cook and eat?’

’But it doesn’t look like the wild rabbits we’ve eaten before! Why is it purple?’

Ye Lüqi, Mu Silin, and the other men were also taken aback, but for a different reason: they had spotted the Golden Bell around the rabbit’s neck.

Their gazes immediately shifted to Moo Moo, who was standing beside Shen Yue, patiently waiting to be noticed.

The bell was identical to the one around Moo Moo’s neck.

The moment Shen Yue had appeared, Moo Moo had woken up instantly and run happily toward her.

But the children had been faster, so it could only stand to the side, staring eagerly as it waited for Shen Yue to notice it.

Now, Shen Yue turned her gaze to Moo Moo, curious to see its reaction.

As it turned out, Moo Moo seemed to have no reaction at all upon seeing the Purple Rabbit. Its usually smug face was a picture of indifference... except for the defiant gleam in its bright eyes, a look that challenged all comers.

The Purple Rabbit on the ground lifted its eyes slightly to glance back, its whiskers twitched, and its eyes seemed to overflow with disdain...

In short, they were like two old rivals, each sizing the other up with mutual contempt.

Seeing this, Shen Yue picked up the Purple Rabbit and made a grand introduction to her children.

"This is A zhi. Just like Moo Moo, I want all of you to treat A zhi with the same care you show Moo Moo!"

"And A zhi will protect you, just like Moo Moo does!"

Mu Silin, Ye Lüqi, and the others listened, understanding instantly. They were also shocked, wondering just what Shen Yue, Huang Ziyue, and the third person in their party had experienced on their trip.

’How did she bring back another great beast just like Moo Moo?’

They didn’t have to guess to know that she must have encountered incredible danger on her journey.

It must have been just as perilous as the time Moo Moo first appeared on Wilderness Mountain.

’They just hoped Shen Yue hadn’t been injured or mistreated while she was away.’

The little ones, however, were thrilled.

"Yay! A zhi is so cute! I really like it!" Dabao exclaimed.

"Uh-huh, I’ll take good care of A zhi!" said Er Bao.

"Me too," added Si Bao. "I’ll take great care of it."

Wubao piped up in his sweet, childish voice while looking at the Purple Rabbit.

"Don’t worry, little Purple Rabbit! I’ll treat you just like I treat Moo Moo!"

The Purple Rabbit listened, its glassy eyes looking from one little cub to the next.

Then it turned its head and nuzzled into Shen Yue’s embrace, clearly only feeling affectionate toward her—just like Moo Moo when it first joined them.

Shen Yue wasn’t worried. She knew it would take time for the Purple Rabbit to warm up to the children and get used to them.

So, she placed the Purple Rabbit on the ground. "A zhi, from now on, they are your little masters. You must treat them just as you treat me."

In truth, Shen Yue didn’t know why A zhi had become so affectionate and clingy toward her ever since it awakened its power and received the Golden Bell. It was as if it held some mysterious, innate affection for her.

Almost as if they had known each other for a long, long time.

The residence was the very same one she had lived in when she was first brought to Barbaric City.

The house had almost been stolen by Gremu’s daughter, Mo Lili. Shen Yue had ended up turning the plot against them and heading to Wilderness Mountain. She never expected the house would still be hers when she returned.

However, most of the houses in the K Empire’s towns were built of stone, resembling small fortresses. While the building could provide shelter from the wind and rain, wind and light inevitably leaked through the cracks.

It was very cold in the winter.

After entering the house, Shen Yue saw that the vegetables and fruits she had left behind were nearly all gone. Some of what remained had spoiled due to improper storage.

But there were still some potatoes, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, and eggs left.
