Seeking Martial Dao in All Reborn Lives
Chapter 255 - 220: Hundred Dragon Acupoints (Part 2)
Body transformation.
The fundamental principle of the Hundred Beasts Fist has always been singular: to forge a body perfectly suited for combat.
The Cross-Training stage tempers muscle, sinew, skin, and bone.
The Inner Cultivation stage forges the internal organs.
Upon first entering the Harmony realm, these two aspects undergo a complete metamorphosis, enabling one to manifest a Holy Beast Form.
However, this was still not the body’s perfect state.
The purpose of the Harmony realm is to further transform the body and unleash its deepest potential.
With the empowerment of the Harmony realm, one’s control over their body increases dramatically, allowing them to perform many feats that could be considered mystical.
The Hundred Dragon Acupoints—this was the precise training method for the Hundred Beasts Fist in the Harmony realm.
The human body’s acupoints are as numerous as the stars in the sky—truly countless. These so-called acupoints are, in fact, convergence points for the body’s Qi and Blood, nerves, and the flow of Qi.
Just as the heavens have their phenomena and the earth has its terrain, the human body, born of nature, is intrinsically connected to heaven and earth.
Just as heaven and earth have their nexuses, the human body naturally has them as well.
Acupoints are these nexuses.
By using a Secret Technique to stimulate the acupoints, one can mobilize Qi and Blood, regulate the body, and unleash bursts of physical power.
Among the countless acupoints of the human body, one hundred and eight are considered the most important—the body’s vital points.
Among these, seventy-two are non-lethal vital points. When struck, they will at most cause injury or paralysis, rendering a person unable to move. In the Hundred Beasts Fist, these are known as the Seventy-Two Earthly Fiend Acupoints.
The other thirty-six are fatal pressure points. A strike to one can lead to full-body paralysis and incurable aftereffects in a mild case, or instant death in a severe one. Within the Hundred Beasts Fist, these are known as the Thirty-Six Celestial Spirit Acupoints.
The Hundred Dragon Acupoint Secret Method is founded on these one hundred and eight acupoints. One first cultivates the Seventy-two Earth Fiends, then gathers the Thirty-Six Celestial Spirits, ultimately unlocking the body’s potential even further to reach a truly miraculous state.
In his past life on Blue Star, Zhao Xuanqi had reached the stage of the Thirty-Six Celestial Spirit Acupoints.
GURGLE GURGLE!!
Fueled by the immense nutrients of the Liquor Brew, his progress with the Hundred Dragon Acupoint Secret Method advanced rapidly, and the Weicang acupoint—one of the Seventy-Two Earthly Fiend Acupoints—was undergoing a swift metamorphosis.
The process appeared simple and smooth, but it concealed a terrifying danger.
Why are vital points called ’vital’? It’s because of their importance to the body. Much like a major transportation hub, if they are destroyed, the body will suffer immense damage.
Furthermore, unlike the body’s muscles, bones, and internal organs, acupoints have no visible or tangible physical characteristics. This requires a Martial Artist to understand their own body with extreme intimacy, to truly manifest the ethereal acupoints into a concrete reality.
To create something from nothing; to turn the illusory into the real.
After about half an hour, Zhao Xuanqi had downed nearly ten cups of the Liquor Brew, and one of the Seventy-Two Earthly Fiend Acupoints was completely lit up.
THUMP THUMP THUMP!!
The vibrations grew more intense. A metamorphosis had already begun inside his body. The acupoint, which originally had no physical form, had now manifested as substantive flesh and blood, pulsing within him like a newborn organ.
Qi and Blood converged, and nutrients accumulated.
The cultivation of the first acupoint was complete, greatly enhancing his ability to mobilize Qi and Blood and control his body in that region. Furthermore, the acupoint could now store a certain amount of nutrients, ready to be released in an explosive burst at the opportune moment, significantly boosting his physical ability.
If the original human acupoints were just spontaneous junctions where multiple "channels for nerves and Qi and Blood" converged, then Zhao Xuanqi had essentially built a "dispatch station" on top of this junction, greatly enhancing the flow capacity of each channel.
The Beidou Sect’s Secret Technique he had once encountered, the Seven-Star Life Palace, was actually similar to his current state. However, each individual ’palace’ of the Seven-Star Life Palace was far more powerful, almost equivalent to having seven new, independent organs inside one’s body—a terrifyingly effective technique.
And while his transformed acupoints were far from reaching the functional level of an organ, he held one key advantage: the number of acupoints he could transform far exceeded the seven of the Beidou Sect’s Seven-Star Life Palace!
"The Holy Beast Fist... its ability to transform the body is truly miraculous..."
Jiang Wu muttered to himself, a glimmer of understanding in his eyes. He was taking in every change within Zhao Xuanqi’s body. This was, in fact, why Zhao Xuanqi made no attempt to hide anything. ’Since I’m benefiting from his generosity, I should at least give him something in return.’
While watching Zhao Xuanqi cultivate, Jiang Wu’s own Qi and Blood began to circulate, mimicking the path of Zhao Xuanqi’s flow, hoping to see if he could perhaps modify his own acupoints.
But he failed. This method of transformation was far more difficult than he had imagined. It demanded not only an extremely high degree of bodily control but also a wealth of experience and an intimate understanding of one’s own body.
Everyone knew how to use acupoints, but who actually knew what they looked like?
Creating something from nothing—that was the hardest part.
He couldn’t help but feel even more astonished, for Zhao Xuanqi had accomplished this incredibly difficult task with ease.
With the transformation of the first acupoint complete, Zhao Xuanqi’s digestive speed increased once again, as the modified point was related to the stomach and intestines.
Soon, he began transforming the second acupoint.
He again chose an acupoint in the abdominal region, one closely tied to the body’s internal organs and digestive capabilities.
Seeing this, Jiang Wu’s long face darkened. He understood Zhao Xuanqi’s goal.
He was prioritizing the transformation of acupoints related to his internal organs and digestive system. By doing so, he could further enhance his digestive abilities, allowing him to drink even more of the Liquor Brew in a shorter amount of time to continue his transformation.
’Don’t tell me... Is this kid really going to drink all my Liquor Brew within three days?!’
Jiang Wu felt a painful pang of regret.
Only he knew how much effort it took to create the Liquor Brew. He was normally too reluctant to drink much of it himself, a far cry from the magnanimous front he had put on for the Earth Elder.
’Looks like I’ll be out of liquor for at least a year. This is killing me. Why did I have to pretend to be such a big shot...’
Half a day later, only Zhao Xuanqi remained on the mountaintop, sitting beside the wine cellar and drinking periodically. Jiang Wu stood nearby watching. The Earth Elder, however, had long since found an excuse—saying he was going to check on the growth of the Rare Beasts raised by the Martial Arts Association—and slipped away.
He couldn’t be blamed; he had seen the writing on the wall. As Zhao Xuanqi downed cup after cup, Jiang Wu’s deer-like features seemed to stretch into the long face of a horse, and the tail behind him twitched erratically. He was clearly in a foul mood. The Earth Elder had no desire to stick around and wait for Jiang Wu to find some excuse to put him through the wringer—that would be a completely undeserved disaster.
In just half a day, nearly a fifth of the Liquor Brew in the cellar had evaporated—all of it into Zhao Xuanqi’s stomach. In Jiang Wu’s eyes, over a dozen stars had already lit up inside his body. As his Qi and Blood pulsed, the overlapping vibrations created a sound that made one’s scalp tingle.
Jiang Wu’s face was now expressionless, his heart aching for his brew, but he couldn’t leave. Zhao Xuanqi’s method of training and transforming his internal acupoints was incredibly enlightening, and he didn’t want to miss a single detail.
He was truly caught between pain and pleasure.
’This kid... is it really okay for his body to undergo such a massive change in such a short time?’
Jiang Wu could feel Zhao Xuanqi’s physical ability growing stronger with each completed acupoint transformation. Logically, a more powerful body should be harder to control perfectly, which in turn should slow the pace of any further increase in strength.
But Zhao Xuanqi seemed to face no such difficulty. It was as if no bottleneck existed for him. In fact, as more and more acupoints were transformed, he seemed to grow increasingly proficient.
This was a path he had walked in his previous life. Treading it again now, it only became more familiar. He was even able to correct the mistakes and fix the flaws left behind from his past life’s transformation, allowing him to perfect his body as he rebuilt it.
In this life, he would become even stronger than he was in his last!
