The wind was picking up.

Wren Sutton gave the empty garden below one last look, put her phone away, and left the scenic balcony.

She pushed the door open and entered the hospital room, spotting Adrian Lancaster at once.

A chill still clung to him. His usually gentle features now looked sharp and severe.

The recent entanglement had clearly annoyed him, and he hadn’t yet recovered.

Wren Sutton tiptoed over and sat down beside him.

"What’s wrong? You look upset."

When Adrian Lancaster saw Wren Sutton had returned, the chill around him and the irritation in his heart slowly began to fade.

Without hiding anything or hesitating, he confessed everything that had happened in the garden.

"Honey, that woman who calls herself my cousin came looking for me again just now."

"But don’t worry. I’ve already sent her away, and I made everything I needed to say perfectly clear."

Adrian Lancaster’s tone held undisguised annoyance toward Claire Bennett, yet he spoke firmly to reassure Wren Sutton.

"She’s come to the hospital twice now, and everything she says is meant to stir up trouble between us. Her intentions are malicious. It’s just so infuriating."

"I gave her a stern warning. I don’t think she’ll dare to try anything again."

Watching Adrian Lancaster so wholeheartedly protect her, Wren Sutton’s heart felt warm and sweet.

She gently took Adrian Lancaster’s hand and looked at him seriously.

"Darling, there’s something I have to tell you."

Adrian Lancaster’s expression faltered for a moment, and he listened intently. "What is it?"

"That woman claiming to be your cousin—her real name is Claire Bennett. She’s impersonating a distant relative of the Lancaster family," Wren Sutton said succinctly.

"She’s an impostor, a fraud."

Hearing this, the air around Adrian Lancaster instantly turned cold.

He already disliked Claire Bennett, and now he loathed her even more.

He had originally just thought she was some ill-mannered distant relative pestering him. He never imagined she was actually a calculating fraud who had been scheming against him from the very beginning.

"No wonder she’s always trying to sow discord. How despicable."

"If I ever see her again, I won’t be so polite. I’ll definitely make her pay for what she’s done."

Adrian Lancaster seethed with anger.

Wren Sutton gently pressed the back of his hand, calming his fury.

"Whatever she said to you, don’t believe it."

"Don’t worry, honey. I’d believe anyone over her. Just now in the garden downstairs, she told me that..."

Adrian Lancaster paused, still fuming at the memory.

"She said the scarf I’m wearing was a freebie. I was so angry I cursed her out."

Wren Sutton hadn’t expected Claire Bennett to be so shameless, telling such bald-faced lies.

"I knew you wouldn’t fall for her provocations."

"I don’t think she’ll give up this easily. She might come back for more. We don’t have to expose her just yet. Let’s wait for her to show her true colors even more, and then we can spring the trap."

Adrian Lancaster squeezed Wren Sutton’s hand, the fury in his eyes melting into tenderness. With his other arm, he pulled her into his embrace, resting his chin gently on top of her head.

"Okay. I’ll do whatever you say."

"Honey, no matter how much I’ve forgotten, I will never forget that you are my wife, the person I’m meant to protect for the rest of my life."

"I won’t let anyone who tries to drive a wedge between us get away with it, and I certainly won’t let them succeed."

Leaning against her husband’s chest, a happy smile spread across Wren Sutton’s lips.

"I believe you."

...

After a thorough examination by his attending physician, Adrian Lancaster was deemed to have recovered well and was cleared for discharge.

On the day of his discharge, the Lancaster family sent a car to pick him up. One person was assigned to handle the paperwork, while another was responsible for packing up his things in the hospital room.

All Wren Sutton had to do was stay by Adrian Lancaster’s side; she wasn’t needed for any specific tasks.

The car drove smoothly and came to a stop in front of the old Lancaster family residence.

The entire family, young and old, warmly welcomed Adrian Lancaster home, their faces beaming with happy smiles.

There was no smell of disinfectant in the house, no tense or unsettling atmosphere—only warmth and happiness.

Even though Adrian Lancaster hadn’t recovered his memory and couldn’t recall the past, his heart was full of this family, full of the relatives he was connected to by blood.

"Grandma, Dad, Mom, Julian, Lucia, thank you all. I know it’s been hard on you while I was in the hospital."

Hearing him call her "Mom," Claire Sterling was so happy she couldn’t put it into words.

Theodore Lancaster patted Adrian Lancaster’s shoulder in relief.

"Son, you’ve done well. You’re the pride of the Lancaster family."

Just then, Owen and Nina started gurgling and cooing, waving their little arms, wanting Adrian Lancaster to hold them.

"Da... Da..."

Hearing his children call for him, Adrian Lancaster’s heart felt as sweet as honey. The tenderness and adoration in his eyes were about to overflow.

He eagerly took the two children from the nanny’s arms, holding one in each. He carefully kissed their cheeks.

"Daddy’s home, Daddy’s home..."

Owen and Nina giggled, snuggling contentedly in their father’s arms and grabbing at his collar.

"Da... Da..."

The soft, babbling sounds, so sweet and affectionate, were enough to melt anyone’s heart.

The entire Lancaster family gathered around, watching this warm, healing scene. Smiles were on everyone’s faces, and their hearts were filled with peace and joy.

’It feels so good to be home.’

’It’s so good to have the family all together.’
