Adrian Lancaster couldn’t wait to see Owen and Nina. Wren Sutton soothed him, then took out her phone and called home.

She kept it brief, telling her parents that Adrian Lancaster had woken up and wanted to see the children, asking them to bring Owen and Nina to the hospital for a short visit.

She also mentioned that Adrian Lancaster was suffering from selective amnesia, only remembering her and the children.

After hanging up, Wren Sutton looked back toward the hospital bed.

Although Adrian Lancaster’s face was still pale and weak, his eyes were filled with anticipation. He stared, unblinking, in the direction of the door.

Wren Sutton returned to his bedside to coax him.

"Mom and Dad will be here soon. In the meantime, you should get some sleep and build up your strength."

Adrian Lancaster shook his head. His expression was sincere; he didn’t want to sleep, but he also didn’t want to make his wife angry.

"Honey, I’m not tired."

Wren Sutton thoughtfully adjusted the pillow behind him so he could lean back more comfortably.

"You need to rest even if you don’t feel tired. That’s what the doctor said. Even just closing your eyes to recover your energy is fine. I’ll wake you when the children get here."

"But..." Adrian Lancaster hesitated.

Wren Sutton looked at him with a doting gaze. "Honey, be good."

Hearing her call him "honey" melted Adrian Lancaster’s heart. He couldn’t bring himself to argue and simply nodded obediently.

"Okay, I’ll just lean back here and rest my eyes. Honey, don’t leave me."

Wren Sutton let out a soft laugh. "Don’t worry, I won’t go anywhere."

「An hour later.」

Mr. and Mrs. Sutton arrived at the VIP ward on the top floor of the hospital, bringing Owen and Nina with them.

Wren Sutton stood up to greet them.

"Dad, Mom, you’re here. Thank you for coming."

Adrian Lancaster looked up, his gaze falling upon the two unfamiliar elders.

In the blank slate of his memory, there wasn’t a single fragment related to them.

Their past interactions, what he used to call them—it was all a blur.

But he knew in his heart that these were Wren Sutton’s parents, his beloved’s closest relatives, Owen and Nina’s maternal grandparents.

Once he had placed them, the sense of distance around Adrian Lancaster instantly vanished, along with any defensiveness or resistance.

His expression softened as he regarded the two elders with quiet respect.

As soon as Mr. and Mrs. Sutton entered, their eyes went straight to Adrian Lancaster lying in the bed.

Seeing his pale face and how much weight he’d lost, the elderly couple’s hearts ached for him.

The memory of their daughter mentioning his selective amnesia on the phone made the ache in their chests even more profound.

But the couple showed no hint of blame, only sympathy and concern.

"I’m sorry. I know who you are, but I don’t remember you."

The moment Adrian Lancaster spoke, Mrs. Sutton’s eyes instantly welled up.

"You silly boy, there’s no need to apologize. You’ve been through such an ordeal. If you’ve forgotten, you’ve forgotten. It’s not a big deal. Focusing on your recovery is what’s most important."

Mr. Sutton nodded in agreement, not minding in the slightest.

"It’s okay that you don’t remember. Just take your time and recover. You have a long life ahead of you; everything will get better."

"We don’t ask for anything else. All we want is for you to be safe and sound, for you and Nina to be well, and for the children to be healthy. That’s enough for us."

Listening to the elderly couple’s gentle words, Adrian Lancaster could clearly feel their unconditional kindness and affection, even though his memory was a blank.

As they spoke, Wren Sutton took Owen and Nina into her arms and sat in the chair by the bed, positioning herself so that Adrian Lancaster could see the babies clearly.

The two little ones were almost six months old. They were fair-skinned and cherubic, beautiful and adorable, their features clear reflections of Adrian Lancaster and Wren Sutton.

Nestled in their swaddling clothes, the tiny bundles blinked their big, dark, round eyes as they gazed at Adrian Lancaster.

Perhaps drawn by an instinctive, familial bond, Owen and Nina broke into happy smiles. Their little arms and legs kicked gently as soft coos and gurgles escaped their lips.

A strange yet powerful, aching warmth surged through Adrian Lancaster’s chest. It was a paternal instinct, etched into his very bones.

He desperately wanted to hold his children, but his physical condition wouldn’t permit it.

"Owen, Nina, it’s been so long. Do you remember Daddy?"

Adrian Lancaster reached out a long, slender, yet visibly weak hand. His movements were slow, his fingertips reaching out tentatively to gently touch his daughter’s tiny fist.

Nina blinked her big eyes, staring at Adrian Lancaster’s face. Her little mouth opened and closed as she babbled at him, clearly taken with him.

Then, little Nina unconsciously uttered two slurred, childish syllables. "Da... Da..."

Beside her, Owen echoed the sound, waving his little hands and babbling along, "Da... Da..."

The children’s soft, tender voices filled the hospital room, striking Adrian Lancaster right in the heart.

He froze, his fingertips hanging motionless in midair. His previously gentle eyes flew wide, and a powerful wave of ecstasy and excitement surged within them.

A faint blush colored his pale cheeks, brought on by this sudden joy.

His eyes grew moist, a film of unshed tears blurring his vision.

Adrian Lancaster was too overcome with emotion to describe what he was feeling. The corners of his mouth lifted into a smile, and in that instant, all his exhaustion and pain vanished as if they had never been.

"Good children... Daddy’s here..."

he said, his voice hoarse and choked with emotion.

"Daddy’s back, and I’ll never leave you again."

"Once Daddy is all better, I’ll be able to hold you and play with you."

"Just wait a little longer for Daddy, okay?"

Owen and Nina laughed in unison, reaching their little hands toward Adrian Lancaster, wanting to be held.

"Daddy loves you," Adrian Lancaster said, tears of happiness streaming down his face.

Watching the scene unfold, Mr. and Mrs. Sutton smiled in gratification, also moved nearly to tears.

Wren Sutton, also deeply moved, reached out and gently wiped the tears from Adrian Lancaster’s face.

"Owen and Nina love their daddy very much, too."

As if they understood, the two little ones responded with happy gurgles.

Their little bodies strained toward Adrian Lancaster, chubby hands grasping at the air. Though they had little strength, they were determined to get closer to him.

Finally, Nina’s tiny hand caught the hem of Adrian Lancaster’s sleeve, clutching it tightly and refusing to let go.

Afraid his unsteadiness might cause him to hurt her, Adrian Lancaster didn’t dare move a muscle.

He only dared to gently touch his daughter’s soft little hand with his fingers, feeling the unique warmth of a child’s skin against his.

In that moment, his heart was filled to the brim with tenderness and bliss.

Just then, Mr. Sutton stepped forward to reassure his son-in-law.

"Adrian, you just focus on getting better. Don’t worry about anything at home or with the children. Just cooperate with the doctors and recover quickly. Having the family reunited and whole again is more important than anything."

Adrian Lancaster nodded vigorously, his heart full of gratitude.

Sunlight streamed through the window, bathing everyone in the ward in a soft, gentle halo.

The soft babbling of the children and the gentle admonitions of the elders wove together into the world’s most moving symphony.

No one noticed that at the far end of the corridor, a furtive figure had slipped into the shadows of the stairwell.

Claire Bennett clutched her purse, her face contorted into a savage expression.

The heartwarming reunion inside the room was a glaring sight, and the hatred in her heart burned with equal intensity.

’Why should Wren Sutton get to have everything?’

’Why is it that even with amnesia, Adrian Lancaster still remembers her and their children!’

Just then, the phone in her pocket began to vibrate.

Claire Bennett answered the phone, annoyed. "Speak!"

"Miss, there’s a problem. The Marshall family is under surveillance."

Hearing this, Claire Bennett’s expression turned grim.
