Sea Survival: My Luck is Off the Charts

Chapter 442 - 440: Who’s Tracking Whom?

  • Next Chapter

Perhaps The Frigid World, being a newly discovered world, was just that alluring. Even though Faye Yardley and her two companions had gone there for three days straight, the Smoke Person didn’t find their behavior the least bit strange.

But on the third night of their stay at the hotel, they actually ran into Logan Langdon and his women.

What’s more, their suite was right across the hall from her room.

"Gorgeous Yardley, what a coincidence."

"It certainly is. I didn’t expect Mr. Langdon would come to Nightfall Citadel as well."

Logan Langdon maintained a polite and appropriate smile. "A place as fun as Nightfall Citadel is unforgettable once you’ve visited. Otherwise, why would Gorgeous Yardley be here?"

Faye Yardley just hummed in response. "I hope you all have fun. I won’t disturb you."

With that, Faye Yardley gave a wave, opened her door, and went inside.

The door shut with a BANG.

The expression on Lucy White’s face screamed, ’I’m so curious, I have so many questions,’ but Faye Yardley completely ignored her.

Staring at the closed door, Logan Langdon frowned slightly. ’Could she also be here for the new treasure that just appeared in Nightfall Citadel?’ he wondered.

The Little Mermaid gave him a push, saying unhappily, "Is that woman so pretty? You couldn’t stop staring at her."

"Don’t be ridiculous. She’s not nearly as beautiful as you all. Let’s go. We should get some rest, too." Logan Langdon wrapped a long arm around the Little Mermaid, pulling her directly into his embrace.

Chloe Hughes glanced at the door across the hall, a worry growing in her heart. She was afraid that Faye Yardley would once again swoop in and steal their opportunity.

’It’s happened so many times. Faye always manages to get one step ahead of them. Although Logan’s luck is already quite strong compared to the average person, still...’

’Faye Yardley just seems uncannily formidable.’

She had clearly mastered her Energy Observation Skill, yet it was useless against Faye Yardley.

"Faye, I’ll go over and find out what they’re here for."

Faye Yardley looked at Cole Kensington and shook her head. "No need. Our objective is different from theirs to begin with. Besides, it’s already the 28th. If their business takes a long time, I’m afraid we’ll miss Diana Quinn’s wedding, and that wouldn’t be good."

Cole Kensington nodded, showing he understood.

It was impossible to say they weren’t the least bit curious. But there were priorities. It wasn’t worth deliberately delaying their plans and messing up their own schedule for something they knew nothing about.

As it turned out, they ran into Logan Langdon’s group again early the next morning on the small train heading to The Frigid World.

’So they’re heading to The Frigid World, too?’

’Do they know that this place is our original world, Aquaria?’

The entanglements of fate are truly hard to explain.

Faye Yardley saw the wariness in Logan Langdon’s eyes. ’It’s a good thing I never thought about prying into his business,’ she thought. ’Hopefully, we can go our separate ways in The Frigid World.’

After all, arrivals were always randomized to a certain location. As long as it was random enough, they wouldn’t run into each other.

But this time, Faye Yardley miscalculated. She had disembarked from the small train and left first, yet Logan Langdon and his group still appeared in the exact same place.

If Faye Yardley hadn’t arrived here a step ahead of him, Logan Langdon would have seriously suspected she was using some kind of item to lock onto his position.

This area must have once been an ocean. Now, monstrous waves were flash-frozen in place, making the people below seem incredibly small.

"Gorgeous Yardley, what a coincidence."

Faye Yardley spread her hands. "Tell me about it."

Chloe Hughes walked over with a smile. "Faye, since fate keeps bringing us together, why don’t we team up?"

Faye Yardley shook her head. "No, thank you. We’re fine hunting our own Frost Beasts."

Then, Faye Yardley led Cole Kensington and Lucy White off to the left.

After they were out of sight, Logan Langdon asked, "Chloe, which way do we go now?"

Chloe Hughes sounded resigned. "To the left. The same way Faye went."

Logan Langdon: "..."

Since their destination was in that direction, they had no choice but to follow.

Faye Yardley didn’t think much of it, simply killing whatever Frost Beasts they encountered. After the past few days, she, Cole Kensington, and Lucy White had developed perfect coordination.

Their hunts were fast and effortless.

If she dealt the final blow, the drop rate for Ice Crystals would skyrocket.

But as they were hunting, why did Logan Langdon and his group suddenly appear from behind a frozen wave?

’What is it with them? Are they determined to haunt us or something?’

This time, however, Faye Yardley’s expression immediately turned cold. "Mr. Langdon, Miss Hughes, what is the meaning of this? Are you following me?"

Logan Langdon felt like he was about to suffer an internal injury from sheer frustration. ’Damn it, am I the one following her? Why not say she’s deliberately blocking my path?!’

Chloe Hughes was also exasperated. "Faye, we didn’t expect such a coincidence either. The place we’re looking for is right here."

"Is that so?" Faye Yardley’s face was a mask of disbelief.

Anyone else in her position probably wouldn’t have believed it either.

Logan Langdon’s brows furrowed. "There’s no need to lie to you. If you’re willing to give us this area..."

Before he could finish, Frost Beasts began crawling out from under their feet, one after another.

While fighting off the unusually large swarm of Frost Beasts, Faye Yardley retorted impolitely, "If anyone’s leaving, it should be you. Surely Mr. Langdon has heard of ’first come, first served’."

But not only were more and more Frost Beasts appearing, but their attacks were also growing fiercer.

The two groups were forced to cooperate, in a sense.

Even so, they each fought as a separate unit, with a wall of Frost Beasts between them.

They killed one after another, but the tide was endless, making Faye Yardley wonder if they had stumbled into a Frost Beast nest.

’Why are there so many?’

Moreover, each wave of Frost Beasts was stronger than the last. This was definitely not normal.

In all the days she had been coming here, this was the first time she had encountered such a situation.

Faye Yardley was fairly certain that Logan Langdon’s group had likely used some kind of item.

’I’ve been dragged into their mess.’

’What rotten luck.’

’Whatever they’re plotting, I’ve been forced to become their accomplice.’

They mowed down wave after wave of Frost Beasts, and Faye Yardley intentionally tried to lead Cole Kensington and Lucy White as far away from Logan Langdon’s group as possible.

The infuriating thing was that Logan Langdon’s group was too shameless; whichever way her team moved, they would follow!

CRACK... CRACK CRACK CRACK...

The Frost Beasts could pass through the ice without any issue, yet now, they could hear the sound of the ice itself shattering layer by layer.

A massive hand emerged from the shattered ice. A single one of its fingers was larger than Faye Yardley and her two companions combined.

Immediately after, a second hand appeared.

With the appearance of the giant hands, the Frost Beasts all knelt down reverently, prostrating themselves on the ground.

This enormous ice giant that had suddenly emerged was probably the target of Logan Langdon’s group. Faye Yardley immediately shouted, "Kingston, Lucy White, let’s go!"

’The beasts have stopped moving. If we don’t run now, are we going to stick around and be their cannon fodder?’

However, Faye Yardley never expected that Logan Langdon’s group would actually block their escape route.

Logan Langdon’s eyes glinted. "Gorgeous Yardley, it would be better if you stayed and cooperated with us sincerely."

"Heh..." Faye Yardley’s expression was glacial. "If you don’t get out of my way, don’t blame me for attacking you first!"

’Help him?’

’In his dreams!’

’Since you don’t want us to leave, then we’ll stay and cause trouble. You can forget about getting anything you want!’
