Sea Survival: My Luck is Off the Charts

Chapter 437 - 435: Returning to the Frigid World of Nightfall Citadel

[You have used a Rare Island Entry Order to designate Nightfall Citadel as your destination. You will arrive at the Nightfall Citadel docks in 2 hours. Please be prepared to disembark.]

After Faye Yardley used the yellow Island Entry Order, the raft slightly adjusted its course and began to speed forward.

’I should let my brother and the Master know. I’ll invite them over in two hours.’

’You can bring people onto other islands, but Nightfall Citadel is a different story. I’ll worry about whether they can get on when we get there. If worst comes to worst, I still have the sea train ticket to Nightfall Citadel Station and the return ticket from the last event. I can give them to my brother and the others to use then.’

’However, if they use those to get on the island, Faye was worried they would have to complete a certain number of attractions before they could leave.’

’More importantly, she didn’t know if the tickets would even work now that the event was over.’

’She hadn’t even thought about using them until now. For now, she’d put them all in a box and tuck it into her backpack. It would be best if she didn’t need them.’

As for storage rings, she had swapped out the ones for everyone on the raft, including herself, for the largest kind: ones with 15 cubic meters of space.

She gave the lower-grade ones she’d swapped out to her brother. Kyle Lewis’s island was now basically their guild’s private territory, so people who went there could use them.

Two hours later, gazing at the familiar yet strange, darkly atmospheric Nightfall Citadel before them, the group stepped onto the docks.

Following the crowd, they paid the city entry fee. Then, led by a Smoke Person, Faye Yardley and her party boarded a small train heading directly for The Frigid World.

"Respected guests, The Frigid World has not yet been fully developed. It is now home to many more Frost Beasts. We have a corresponding buy-back price for each type of Frost Beast. Would you like a catalog?"

Faye Yardley smiled and nodded at the recommendation from the train’s dedicated Smoke Person. "Thank you, we’ll need two."

The Smoke Person guiding their group was instantly the object of envy for the other Smoke People on the train.

"That will be 10 silver coins for two."

Faye Yardley wasn’t stingy about such a small amount of money. She still remembered Ludo telling her to be polite in Nightfall Citadel. In that case, not refusing a friendly recommendation from a Smoke Person was also a form of politeness.

Besides, there were Frost Beasts when they entered before, and now there were even more. It was only natural to learn about them first. Information has always been expensive.

Faye Yardley quickly flipped through the two-page Frost Beast catalog before handing it to her brother beside her.

A Kobold sitting on the other side of the aisle glanced at the Smoke Person who had moved on to the next car, then suddenly leaned over. "Hey, human beauty. Can I take a look at that catalog you bought? Let’s be friends. I can help you out in the Glacial World."

Faye Yardley looked at him and refused with a smile, "Sorry, our people aren’t finished with it yet."

"And when you’re done?"

Faye Yardley glanced at the Smoke Person who was walking back toward them, then turned to the Kobold and retorted, "What do you think?"

The Kobold followed her gaze and naturally saw the Smoke Person. He shot Faye Yardley a vicious glare. "You just wait!"

Faye Yardley just smiled. "Okay~"

When the little train came to a stop, a blast of cold air swept over everyone.

The Smoke Person once again tried to sell thermal suits to everyone. This time, no one needed one. After politely declining, they headed straight for The Frigid World.

However, the arrival point this time was different from the last. It was a place completely unfamiliar to Faye Yardley.

"Master, this tall mountain completely sealed in ice... it looks just like our home."

Hearing Zephyr Sterling say this, everyone else turned to look at Master Veridian. He was visibly trembling with an unnatural excitement. "Yes. This is our home."

"Ha! So this is where you are. What, were you waiting for me?"

The arrogant words made Faye Yardley turn her head. Sure enough, it was that arrogant Kobold. ’As long as you avoid the Smoke People, killing isn’t illegal here.’

Therefore, Faye Yardley didn’t waste another word on the Kobold. She used Light Wound to quickly reap his dog-like life.

The moment he crumpled to the ground, several Frost Beast heads emerged from beneath the ice. In less than ten seconds, they had devoured the corpse completely.

"You-you killed someone! I’m going to tell the Smoke People—"

"Idiot!"

Cole Kensington casually took care of the dumbstruck witness as well.

Master Veridian and Zephyr Sterling’s attention was completely focused on the ice mountain before them, and they were already impatient to ascend.

However, as they approached the mountain, small, agile Frost Beasts continuously emerged to block their path.

The Frost Beasts’ ability to travel freely through the ice made them quite difficult to kill.

But the six-person party’s combat power was more than adequate. Cole Kensington, in particular, killed the most, relying on his own abilities.

The Master and Zephyr Sterling cleared the path at the front. Ethan Yardley moved closer to his sister. "Faye, this place... so you really did uproot our home."

"Mhm. You didn’t think I was lying to you, did you?"

"I thought it was just a similar-looking place, like a parallel world. After all, there are so many cities in the world; some are bound to have civilizations at a similar stage of development." As he spoke, Ethan Yardley couldn’t help but sigh. "Who would have thought our world would become someone else’s playground?"

"Mhm. Perhaps the world we live in now also originally belonged to another intelligent species. I never thought about it before, but maybe our generation just happened to be at the point in time when this kind of unbelievable thing was destined to happen."

Who’s to say whether that makes us fortunate or unfortunate?

"Coming here this time, is there something you want to do?"

Faye Yardley looked at her brother and shook her head. Her hands didn’t stop moving, nor did her feet. She continued to advance quickly.

’She didn’t really have anything specific she wanted to do. She just wanted to see it.’

’It didn’t matter that she didn’t know why it had become like this. Aquaria hadn’t disappeared; it just existed in a different form.’

’And it didn’t matter if people like them couldn’t go back. They could live their own brilliant lives elsewhere.’

’Besides, who could say for sure that the original Aquaria wasn’t like this to begin with?’

Faye Yardley sprinted, moving at extreme speed to catch up with the Master, who was continuously leaping and shifting his position. She figured that if they reached his and his disciple’s Taoist temple, they might just be able to dig something up.

’Since they were already here, it would be best to gain as much as possible.’

The higher they went up the mountain, not only did the path become more difficult, but even the size and attack power of the Frost Beasts increased.

But this couldn’t stop the urgent heart of an old man who wanted to go home.

For the Frost Beasts on the mountain, the destructive power of these six people was an unprecedented catastrophe.

The joy of harvesting Ice Crystals also made Faye Yardley focus her attention on actively hunting and killing Frost Beasts.

Before they knew it, they arrived before a simple Taoist temple deep in the mountains, completely encased in ice.

The temperature must have dropped incredibly fast. Everything seemed to have been frozen in the instant the cold arrived, so apart from the outer layer of ice, it all looked unchanged.

Even a small sparrow that had landed on the roof by the temple’s entrance was frozen in its most vivid moment.

"It didn’t turn into a Frost Beast."
