Sea Survival: My Luck is Off the Charts

Chapter 436 - 434: The Magical Clementine

  • Next Chapter

By the time Faye Yardley came to, another three days had passed.

[Constitution +1, Strength +1, agility +1, Spirit +1]

Each of her Four-dimensional Attributes had increased by 1 point—the result of her efforts over the past three days.

It was an incredible surprise.

It was as if she was now practicing the Health Care Scripture 2.0, with an efficiency more than double what it was before.

She showered, changed her clothes, and went downstairs, unable to hold back her smile. "Willow, hurry and get lots of good food ready!"

She hadn’t eaten in three days. She wasn’t actually hungry, but the break in her routine made her feel an urgent desire to eat, as if to restore a sense of normalcy.

She was indebted to the Master this time. As Faye Yardley ate, she wondered what to send him as a gift.

"Sis, Cole Kensington took Bella out for a ride, and Lucy White is fishing for treasure chests. Eamon says the first batch of red apricots has fully ripened and they’re in the warehouse. The clementines from the tree planted at the same time have also ripened overnight and are in the warehouse now too."

As she spoke, Willow Yardley ladled a bowl of soup and placed it by Faye’s hand.

"They’re ripe?" Faye Yardley couldn’t help but feel a thrill of pleasant surprise. She had just been wondering what to give as a gift, and now she had the perfect answer.

She put down her chopsticks and took a red apricot and a Clementine directly from her warehouse.

She had already tried the red apricot, so she set it aside and peeled the Clementine. Faye Yardley took a bite. It was sweet with a barely perceptible tang, and it was delicious—much better than any she had grown before.

[Clementine: Eat it and you will randomly obtain a temporary ability. Haven’t awakened yet? You must not have eaten enough.]

Faye Yardley stared at the remaining fruit, picked it up, and stuffed the whole thing into her mouth in one bite. After she finished, a distinctly warm current zipped through her body.

[Congratulations, you have obtained the Simulation ability. Duration: 1 hour.]

"’Simulation?’ Faye Yardley turned to look at Willow Yardley. Then, she pictured herself simulating Willow’s appearance. As Willow watched in astonishment, Faye’s face transformed."

"Sis, you..." Willow pointed at her, then at herself. "You’ve become another me."

Faye Yardley excitedly pulled out a mirror to look at her face. ’This feels so weird,’ she thought, but she was still thrilled. "Hahaha... it really works!"

Although the total number of both fruits wasn’t large, Faye Yardley still sent the Master five of each, telling him to try the new fruit she had grown.

"Sis... huh? There are two Willows?" Lucy White ran in, looking from one to the other in confusion.

However, one was sitting and one was standing. Although they looked identical, the Ruby Hairpin in the hair of the person sitting down let her know it was Faye Yardley. "Sis, how did you change to look like Willow?"

"Hehe, fun, right?"

"It is fun! I want to play too."

’It grants a random superpower, so I can’t guarantee she’d get the same ability as me. Plus, it only lasts an hour. It would be a waste to eat it now when there’s nothing important to do.’

So she said to Lucy White, "Next time there’s something important, I’ll give you a Clementine to eat. It grants a random superpower, not necessarily the one I have now."

"Okay. Then, Sis, can you turn into me?" Lucy White asked, her eyes sparkling.

Faye Yardley stared at Lucy White, thinking about changing into her appearance. Before their astonished eyes, her face changed once again.

"It’s changing, it’s changing! You really look like me! Ahhh... So this is how beautiful I’ll be when I grow up!" Lucy White was so excited she almost threw herself at Faye Yardley to get a closer look.

Faye Yardley pushed her away and picked up the mirror again. It was recognizably Lucy White’s face, but with a slight difference—it had automatically aged up to an adult version.

’This ability is kind of overpowered.’

’Too bad it only lasts for an hour.’

"I’ve transformed into you guys while looking at you. Now I’ll try changing into someone else from memory. You tell me if I look like them."

Lucy White clapped her hands. "Okay, okay!"

Faye Yardley began to change into Yvonne Lynch, and Willow confirmed the likeness.

Then she changed into the Master’s appearance. Lucy White laughed so hard she almost fell off her chair. "Wow, the old Daoist was so handsome when he was young! Hahaha... If I had this ability, I could turn into a kid version of the old Daoist! I’m going to transform right in front of him, hahaha..."

Finally, Faye Yardley changed into her brother’s appearance and then called him.

Her brother answered on the other end, not even looking up at the screen at first. "Phoebe, what have you been up to... Whoa, who the hell are you, wearing my face?"

Faye Yardley deliberately lowered her voice, making it rougher. "Bro, I’m your long-lost little brother. I just found our sister and had her call you to confirm."

"Faye Yardley, what the hell are you doing!"

"Bro, why don’t you believe me?"

After teasing him for a bit and seeing he wasn’t falling for it, Faye Yardley burst out laughing. "Bro, how does it feel seeing your younger self? Feel like you’ve gotten old and aren’t as handsome anymore?"

Ethan Yardley was at a loss for words. "As long as I know you’re okay, I can rest easy. But you should change back. Looking at you is exhausting."

She also gave her brother a few Clementines and red apricots, then told him her plan. "Bro, I’m preparing to go to Nightfall Citadel. If it’s possible to invite people to come along, do you want to go?"

"Why are you going to Nightfall Citadel? Are you trying to get to our original home, Aquaria?"

"Yeah."

"If you can, count me in. I’ll need to rearrange my affairs here. You’re not leaving right away, are you?"

Faye Yardley smiled. "Well, it’s not *that* rushed. Leaving tomorrow morning should be fine."

After she finished talking with her brother, the Master called. "Yardley, you’ve really grown something incredible! I never thought I’d get to have a Thunder Ability! Hahaha... Behold, my Heaven-shaking Thunder!"

On the other end of the video call, the Master pushed his right hand forward. A bolt of purplish-blue lightning shot out and exploded on the surface of the sea with a BOOM, blasting open a huge wave and sending countless fish and shrimp flying.

Faye Yardley couldn’t help but clap. "Master, you’re amazing! With that kind of power, isn’t it a one-hit kill?"

"Hahaha... I think so too." Master Veridian’s face then showed a hint of regret. "It’s a shame I can’t keep it permanently. But it was great to experience it, even for a moment."

"Master, if you have the chance, would you still want to go to Nightfall Citadel?"

"You little scamp. If you have a chance, just bring me along directly."

Zephyr Sterling’s head suddenly popped out from the side. "Take me too, while you’re at it."

"Alright. I’ll give it a try tomorrow. If it works, I’ll call you all to go together."

"Waiting for your news, then. For now, I’ll use this ability and see if I can draw a Thunder Talisman."

’I can’t believe it. The call with the Master just ended and another one is coming in. What’s with today? One call after another. Did everyone miss me that much?’

She answered the call from Zachary Pierce. He was calling to ask if she had any more city-building blueprints. She did have one more saved as a spare. Even though she didn’t need it, she didn’t want to part with it for the time being.
