Sea Survival: My Luck is Off the Charts
Chapter 340: I’ve Got Something Good for You
For most people at sea, today was another ordinary day spent envying others.
Many people claimed they’d won the lottery and were about to become ordinary islanders, even showing off their island entry confirmation slips.
This couldn’t be faked.
The National Channel was buzzing with all sorts of non-stop news, especially high praise for the two Island Masters, Logan Langdon and Jay Jonas.
Because the two of them had accepted 100,000 people onto their islands at once.
Many people expressed their dissatisfaction with Faye Yardley, the first person to become an Island Master, because her side had been basically silent this time.
Faye Yardley, who had just finished breakfast, had already heard the news from Willow Yardley but paid it no mind.
’What are they clamoring about? The island isn’t completely safe, the safe zone has a limited capacity, and besides, we can’t just take anyone.’
Regarding Wade Warren’s request in the small group chat, once Faye Yardley confirmed he had truly thought it through, she sent island invitations to his family of three.
However, he could only board the island at the same time as the others in this batch and would have to live in the main residential area with no special treatment.
Wade Warren didn’t mind this at all.
A 150-square-meter house was more than enough for his family of three.
Of course, he did receive some preferential treatment, like being guaranteed a ground-floor house with a yard.
That way, his mother could live there and plant some flowers she liked. Life might be simple, but as long as they didn’t cause trouble, they should be able to live out their natural lives without any problems.
And as for him, he could work hard and try to join the hunting parties organized by the young people on the island.
And so, there was one less person in the small group chat.
Bonnie Callahan expressed her envy: Mr. Warren is heading to the island tomorrow. I’m so jealous. Why are my parents so difficult?
Wade Warren: They have their own ideas and a lifestyle they want to live. If you can’t see eye to eye, you don’t have to force it. You can choose whether to come to the island on your own.
Bonnie Callahan: You’re right. I’ll go ask my cousins. If one of them comes with me, I’ll apply to Faye for an island spot. Honestly, with an opportunity like this... if word got out, tons of people would die of envy.
Gavin Donovan: By the way, Miss Bonnie, have you considered joining our guild? We’re recruiting, too.
Bonnie Callahan: Ha, if I chose to join your guild, my parents would definitely be the happiest.
Gavin Donovan: So, you won’t consider it?
Bonnie Callahan: I’d rather they come to the island with me and live as ordinary people.
In this regard, Bonnie Callahan did feel she was being rather selfish. She didn’t want to see her parents take risks, but they had only joined a guild so that she wouldn’t have to.
’If that’s the case, then why can’t they just give up the idea of taking risks for her sake?’
Faye Yardley saw this and replied, "Okay, if any of you want to come to the island, just tell me directly and I’ll make the arrangements."
RING RING~
"Hello? Bro, what’s with the sudden call?"
"Hehe, my teammate just got something good. I think it’s more suitable for your island, so I’m planning to give it to you to use first."
"What is it?"
Ethan Yardley directly took out two blueprints. "Weren’t you looking for blueprints for making glass products? Here, we got one. The other is a road construction and planning blueprint. My settlement here isn’t that big, so it’s perfect for you."
"Thanks, bro. These are really useful, just what I need."
"What’s there to thank your brother for? It’s not like I haven’t taken plenty from you. Just take them. That kid got a lot of benefits from you, too. Without the Water-Repelling Pearls you provided before, he never would have gotten this blueprint."
Faye Yardley chuckled. "I won’t be polite with my own brother, then. Hand them over. For something this big, I need to give the people on the island a heads-up and have them clear the area so no one gets hurt during the road construction."
"Alright, I’ve got other things to do. The demand for ice has been huge these past two days. I’m so busy I’m practically smoking."
"Heh~ For one piece of wood, you get two large blocks of ice. If you use it sparingly, you can spend the better part of a day fishing for treasure chests under a thatched hut. It’s an incredible deal. Don’t you know people are just turning around and reselling it at a high price, bro?"
Ethan Yardley said nonchalantly, "I just need to do my own thing. Besides, each account can only buy from me once a day. If they can still manage to resell it, that’s their own skill."
"Alright, if there’s nothing else, you can get back to it."
After receiving the Gift from her brother, Faye Yardley called Franklin Yardley and told him to inform Wyatt Thorne and Leo Sloan that she would be arranging for the construction of a road and a glass factory immediately. No one was allowed in the areas marked for the road on the blueprint.
Construction would begin in two hours.
As for how long it would take, they would only know after construction began.
After the road was built, Faye Yardley suddenly remembered she still had a batch of cars in her warehouse that she’d brought back from Dungeon 3.
The only thing was, she really had no idea what powered those cars.
But she could just toss them over for the others to use and let them figure it out themselves.
’Huh?’
’Speaking of which, has Mr. Pierce’s research yielded any results yet? It’s been a while, hasn’t it?’
’Oh, right, they just finished participating in that event. Even the researchers couldn’t get out of it.’
’Now that Jay Jonas has an island and Zachary Pierce’s guild has leveled up, they should be able to focus on their research without worry. Maybe they’ll have a breakthrough sooner next time?’
Just as she was thinking this, she received a call from Zachary Pierce.
"Yardley, I have some good news to share with you."
"What is it? Don’t keep me in suspense; that’s not like you."
Zachary Pierce was clearly very happy; a smile even appeared on his usually stern face. "It’s about the Superpower Crystal Stones you gave me last time. They really can induce superpowers in the human body. However, it doesn’t seem to work for everyone. The person’s body has to be compatible with the Superpower Crystal Stone’s Attributes. It’s more like an activation."
"Activating the body’s latent potential?" Faye Yardley said. "So, could the Superpower Crystal Stone be seen as a key that unlocks the body’s potential?"
Zachary Pierce grunted in affirmation. "That’s actually a very good analogy. That’s exactly right. One Superpower Crystal Stone can activate the potential of about three to five people. After that, the energy inside the crystal is depleted, and it turns to dust. It has no further use."
He paused for a moment, as if he’d thought of something else, then continued, "Oh, right. The process of activating one’s potential with a Superpower Crystal Stone is quite painful. Only those who endure it have a chance of becoming a Superpower User. We haven’t discovered any other anomalies for now. Also, we don’t yet have a clear direction on how to enhance these superpowers."
Faye Yardley said, "Oh. That’s great. At least it’s a way to get stronger. By the way, are there any researchers specializing in energy among the people coming to my island this time?"
Zachary Pierce: "Hold on, let me check."
After a moment, he shook his head. "None for now. If you need some, I can arrange for it."
Faye Yardley didn’t refuse. "I’d welcome them if they come voluntarily. But if they’re coming to carry out a mission for you, then there’s no need."
