Eleanore had a headache from the moment she woke up. It wasn’t because of the disturbance from that bastard of Grand duke, but because of that damn notification.

Her head was so heavy in the morning that Eleanore decided to fall asleep again but no matter how much she slept it was not enough. Her head continued to throb, even that pink grass tea was not helping her now.

"Here." Marina passes a small bowl filled with something black. It looked so filthy that Eleanore guessed its taste to be just as nasty as it looks.

She had every urge to throw it away, but the headache was killing her and she needed something, to get rest from this unstoppable pain. She pinched her nose to shut it up and quickly gulped in the medicine in one go.

"Wow!" She heard a familiar voice appreciating her skills in drinking that nasty thing.

"Why are you here?" She looks away. "Can’t you get it; I don’t want to see you. Your—"

" — Your face makes me breathless all over again." He completes her sentence. "Why? Because I am beautiful?" He sat opposite her and gestured to Marina to pour a cup of tea for him as well.

"Nonsense. You look like a monster."

"Thank you."

"That was not a compliment." She snapped.

Caelestis sees the pink tea pouring in his teacup and recognises it immediately. "Ah! Pink Grass Tea?" He mentions its name, as if it is on the tip of his tongue. "Hael loves this tea."

"Yes," Eleanore’s eyes fell on the shining surface of the liquid. "It is his favorite."

Caelestis was feeling strange, sadness creeping into his nerves but he quickly shook it off. "Anyways, I heard you are sick?"

"I am not sick, just a little headache." She explains taking a sip of her tea.

"I see." He too takes a sip of his own.

A lot of things happened in the past few months. When was the last time they sat together like this and drank tea without a care in the world? Was it the day they vowed to be friends in the greenhouse of the duchess?

How strange.

They even turned into enemies in like two months.

Eleanore sighed, seeing no hope for themselves.

Victor entered the study with his usual report and started narrating it to Caelestis. He didn’t once look at his lord, while carrying out his work. Even when Caelestis asked him to explain the reasons behind some of his actions, he explained calmly as if nothing was wrong.

But Caelestis noticed it. Something was absolutely wrong. He wasn’t sure what exactly, but it was. Thus, when the short meeting ended. He finally spoke up.

"What’s wrong?" He asked, creating a net out of his fingers and resting his elbows on his firm desk.

"Nothing." Victor answered as he gathered up the documents and files.

"Lies. I can see it. Something is the matter."

Victor stopped picking up the documents and looked at him with an expression asking if he really doesn’t know what is wrong or is just pretending.

In return, Caelestis sighs, having hints of what could be the matter. "Is this about my marriage?"

"You guessed it right." He answered.

"What’s the problem with my marriage?" Caelestis sets aside his work and is very curious to know why his marriage is bugging Victor so much?

"What did you do to her?"

"Ha! Are you one of her lovers too?" He asked, remembering Alastor’s proposal and then Eleanore’s refusal.

Victor slams the documents he had already gathered on the table and bend’s his hips to be able to glare into his eyes.

"To me, Madam is like my elder sister." He answers Caelestis ridiculous question. "She looks like my dead elder sister, and I have vowed to save her from any problems as her brother."

"You are two years older than her." He points out.

"Doesn’t matter. I am telling you; don’t you dare hurt her. I will kill you."

"I am your employer." Caelestis reminds him, controlling his laughter, for Victor’s threats were somewhat not falling right. Instead, he was looking cute.

"Doesn’t matter. Whatever you have done to her is hurting her deeply. You are putting her in too much pain, and I cannot see her like that."

"Victor." Caelestis’ gaze turned cold. "Don’t interfere between me and my wife." He warns.

"Wife?" Victor straightens his back. "Don’t turn that word into an insult." He moves back. "Because your ’wife’ is not very happy with what you have done to her."

"She married me willingly."

"Stop lying. I can see it all over your face." Caelestis demeanor changes on that.

"She loves me."

"No, she hates you. Why don’t you tell me the threat you used on her to have her marry you?" Victor folds his arms around his chest.

"I used no threats; did Eleanore tell you such nonsense?" Caelestis inquired.

"No, I know. She hates you so much, she would rather die than marry you. Surely, you must have a weakness against her due to which she couldn’t choose to die instead." Victor’s threat from minutes ago started to ring in his ear. He would do it, if need be. Caelestis knew it.

"Get out!" He leans back, resuming his work. "I do not want to talk about this topic again."

"Change before time waves its stick. For when it comes in the picture, you won’t be able to even apologize for your mistakes." He turns around to leave. "You are my lord and my only childhood friend and also my saviour, that’s why I am telling you this. Heed to my words."

He slammed the door and left the room for good, Leaving Caelestis completely stunned by those words. For a split second, he could almost feel that stick landing hard on his body and pain surging into his veins before he could ward it off.

"I will do whatever I want." He convinces himself again that he is right and everyone else is in the wrong and are his enemy. All created by none other than Eleanore.

"She never changes. First my parents, then my best friend, then my love and now my loyal advisor. She gets them all in her facade." He utters.
