Saving The Villainous Monster From The Male Lead

Chapter 140 - 139: The Confession She Rejected Has Turn Into A Regret

Things had taken a toll on Eleanore’s life. Nothing was going as per her wishes. First, she had to marry the man she hates or maybe doesn’t. Her feelings for him are so unclear, that it has become so difficult to understand them.

Then she had this heart wrenching fight with her brother, and she seems to find no space of argument or even small talk between them. This part is what she hates the most. If she had the power, she would have crumbled these problems between her newly found family and herself then thrown it into some deep, dark well. So that no one could find it.

And if all of this was not enough, the system had left her side too. No matter how many times she expected it to pop up with an amazing notification telling her that she has passed her mission and can now return but it just wouldn’t.

||Hello Dear User,

The Mission 1: Change Caelestis Destiny, has been completed. The second phase of this mission will start soon.||

Eleanore was in her bed, ready to fall asleep, when this notification appeared out of nowhere. Unwillingly a scream left her mouth. She jumped out of her bed, shocked and furious at the same time.

The doorknob snapped open and Caelestis entered her room. He rushed to Eleanore who was still in bed completely shocked by this notification.

’Just what the hell is going on?’ She wondered as her eyes remained fixed on the screen. It was never once mentioned in the notification that had appeared months ago that the mission would have two phases.

What would be the next phase? Kill yourself to give a happy ending To Stella, Caelestsi and Hael? Or something like live in this torturous marriage forever or something?

"Eleanore? What’s wrong?" He asks, as he rubs his hand behind her back and moves along the guide of her gaze. They were staring straight into something. Horrified and scared.

"What are you looking at?" He asks, when he turns back to her eyes, they meet.

"My doom." She answered.

"What?"

Eleanore moved away from him, as she asked Marina to come near. "Bring me my pump." She says, as she feels the fire rise in her chest and block her airway.

This was the second time in the day that she has taken her meds. All because of this man, who is her husband, for god’s sake.

"Are you having an attack?" He asks, worry dripping from his eyes.

"No, I am just breathless because of a certain someone." She glares at him, indicating that ’that certain someone’ is him.

"Just get out of here."

Marina hands over the pump to Eleanore and she takes the usual three shots. Then turns to Caelestis, "What are you still doing over here?"

After receiving the pump back, Marina leaves to room to get some water for Eleanore. Giving Caelestis the opportunity to talk about today.

"I’m sorry. You were already going through a lot and then I went with Stella—"

"Oh, please. Don’t show me that false sorry face. It has fooled me once, not again." Eleanore shifts a little back, increasing the distance between them.

"No, I am not faking it. I truly am—"

"Isn’t this what you wanted? You want me to suffer and honestly you are doing a good job at it." She claps her hand in appreciation and taunts.

Her words make him angry. He could have lashed out on her but controlled himself. It was normal. She is too mad to think straight and the fact that he himself had put those thoughts in her was also true. So, he could understand yet instead of leaving the place in peace. He had to wage a fight between them.

"Why are you being so angry? Even you danced with your ex-lover, didn’t you?" Caelestis had seen her dancing with Alastor. It felt as if he would break his neck any second but he constrained himself, considering he was too dancing with his own lover.

"He is not my ex-lover or anything like that." She lashed out.

"Oh really? Didn’t he confess to you at his victory banquet?" He rolled his eyes, when he got the flashes of that day. "You two were even hugging." He muttered.

"I rejected him." She gasped, how come this man knows about their conversation? How much did he hear?

Caelestis’ face jolted her way. "What? Why? I mean he is a fine choice."

"Of course, he is much, much better than you. It’s just that—" Eleanore didn’t know if she should say this or not. At the end she said it anyway. "I do not like him or think of him in that way. He is a fine man. If I had accepted his proposal, then." Her gaze shot up to Caelestis. " —Then I would have escaped you."

"Get out of here!" She shouted in embarrassment and self-pity. "You bastard." She caught a pillow and threw it his way.

Caelestis got a face slap from that soft yet painfully white pillow. "What are you doing?" He yelled back, as he pinched the pillow away from his face.

"Why aren’t you budging? Go away now. Seeing you makes me breathless all over again." She gets off her bed. "Marina!" She calls her maid, who rushes in midway on hearing her mistress’ weary scream.

"Yes, Madam." She places the jug of water on the cabinet, as she finds none of the two dressing tables free.

"Water, give me water." She orders poor Marina, picks up the jug again, pours the water in it and passes on to her.

Caelestis gets back on his feet, lost in thoughts. His train had stopped at the part where Eleanore said she rejected Alastor’s proposal. He couldn’t understand a thing Eleanore said after that, and he didn’t care to hear them at all.

He just simply walked away from that room, consumed in his thoughts that were destructive and somewhat kind at the same time.
