Chapter 71: Chapter 36: The Bleach Universe, The Soul King! (Part 1)

In the open clearing of the underground cavern, a campfire crackled, painting the rock walls in a warm, orange-red hue.

The villagers danced and sang around the newborn infant. Crude clay pots were filled with a rough wine brewed from berries, its aroma mingling with the greasy scent of roasted groundhogs to permeate the air.

Alex was pushed into the center of the crowd. Several young women adorned with beast-bone hairpins blushed as they handed him roasted food, their youthful cheeks flushed with shyness.

They had heard that this outsider possessed the power to freeze Void Beasts.

If they could spend a night of passion with such a powerhouse, perhaps the offspring they bore could help the village survive better in the future.

Alex politely declined them one by one. He was merely a passerby through time and space, with absolutely no desire to leave his bloodline behind in this bizarre world.

As the festivities gradually died down, Ade walked over to Alex. His short hair still carried the savory scent of grease from the feast.

Suddenly, the boy dropped to his knees with a thud, slamming his forehead heavily against the stone floor and producing a dull thwack.

"God, please teach me how to master your power!"

Alex didn’t agree immediately. "What is your purpose in seeking power?"

Ade kept his head bowed. "Ever since I was young, I knew I was different from everyone else. I want to uncover the true meaning of life. Between Void Beasts and humans, which is the true destiny of this world?"

Alex saw the resilience and bravery within the child’s eyes.

During their moment of greatest peril, this boy had bravely stepped forward to face countless Void Beasts all by himself. This level of courage and sense of responsibility earned Alex’s sincere appreciation.

He gently leaned down and helped Ade to his feet. "The time I can remain in this world is limited, and my abilities are not suited for you. However, over the next few days, I can try to help you carve out a path that belongs solely to you..."

Alex’s legacy as a Saint could not be taught to Ade.

Aside from an anomaly like Alex, the souls of all other Saints were actually reincarnations from the previous generation.

The Twelve Gold Saints, Pegasus, Dragon, Phoenix, Cygnus... Although the Saints of each constellation bore different names in every cycle of reincarnation, their true souls were entirely the same.

Just like Athena, these true souls would select a mortal vessel to fuse with during every Holy War.

The humans chosen by these true souls became the Saints of that era’s Holy War.

For an ordinary human to awaken a Cosmo purely through arduous training was fundamentally impossible.

Moreover, in Alex’s eyes, the abilities Ade had displayed possessed boundless potential.

To this day, he had never seen anyone capable of completely repelling his domain of Absolute Zero with just a single hand.

Deep into the night, the villagers fell into a heavy slumber. Alex and Ade sat cross-legged facing each other. The flickering light of the dying campfire cast shifting, uncertain shadows across their faces.

Alex pondered for a moment. He raised an eyebrow and said flatly, "Show me the full extent of your abilities!"

Ade nodded. He walked over to the campfire and extended his right hand, its palm emitting that faint, spectral blue glow.

The dancing flames instantly solidified beneath his right hand. The tongues of fire froze mid-air, twisting into a bizarre and eerie posture.

Alex’s pupils contracted slightly. He had originally assumed Ade’s ability was a domain capable of repelling anything external to himself.

But looking at it now, the power of Ade’s right hand was clearly Stasis.

Absolute Stasis. Time, space, and all forms of change were completely halted under the power of his right hand...

This kind of ability was something Alex had never even heard of before.

Ade then extended his left hand, which had been curled inside his sleeve. This time, the flames instantly flared over three meters high. The remaining charcoal burned itself out in a split second, reducing entirely to white ash.

Alex frowned slightly. The ability of Ade’s left hand was even more terrifying than his right.

It was as if, in a single instant, it had catalyzed all the remaining energy within the campfire...

His right hand possessed the ability to halt everything in stasis, while his left hand possessed the ability to catalyze and accelerate, forcing an object to complete a process that should have taken several hours in an incredibly short span of time.
