Chapter 70: Chapter 35: The Birth of a Newborn, The Boundary Between Life and Death! (Part 2)

"Void Beasts, disperse!"

His right hand emitted rippling waves of blue light, astonishingly immobilizing the majority of the Void Beasts right within the rock stratum!

Many of the Void Beasts were frozen in place after only managing to squeeze half their bodies out.

Even so, countless more Void Beasts continued to swarm out relentlessly!

It was glaringly evident that maintaining this was taking a massive toll on Ade.

Large beads of cold sweat seeped from his forehead, and his frail body trembled violently!

The elder stood up and shouted loudly,

"Ade, come back quickly! You can’t keep doing this..."

The boy clenched his teeth and stubbornly shook his head.

"No, I can’t! I won’t just stand by and watch Yumiko get torn to shreds by the Void Beasts!"

Alex knew that this peculiar four-pupiled boy definitely harbored something extraordinary; he absolutely could not let the boy be killed by these creatures.

"Village Chief, do we only need to let one Void Beast pass through?"

The elder nodded subconsciously.

"Yes, but I can’t guarantee it will work. After all, it has been a very long time since a newborn was successfully delivered..."

Before his words even faded, he saw this strange guest stepping forward. His pupils shrank sharply.

"Guest, come back quickly! You don’t have Ade’s powers..."

Seeing Alex walk over, a faint smile appeared on Ade’s tender face.

"God, I knew you wouldn’t just sit by and watch..."

Alex extended his right hand and pressed it against the rock wall, saying flatly,

"I am not a god. You can call me Alex..."

Under the incredulous gazes of all the villagers, the very instant this strange young man touched the rock wall, a layer of white frost surged across the stone surface like a tidal wave.

All the Void Beasts that had yet to fully emerge from the wall were instantaneously flash-frozen into solid ice sculptures—some with their jaws unhinged in a roar, others extending their terrifying claws, looking remarkably lifelike.

"This... is he truly a god?"

"T-too strong! This man is even more powerful than Ade!"

Alex gave Ade a slight nod.

"Leave this to me. Get some rest!"

Ade retracted his right hand and collapsed weakly to the ground, his face brimming with immense gratitude.

"Thank you, God..."

By this time, the long-legged Void Beast that had appeared first was already closing in on the stone house.

Alex had deliberately spared this specific one; he was genuinely curious as to how a Void Beast actually transformed into a fetus.

The stone house collapsed instantly under the Void Beast’s long legs, exposing a deathly pale woman inside. Devoid of any mercy, the Void Beast raised its slender, needle-like forelimbs and drove them toward the woman’s swollen belly.

Yet, the woman merely reached out both hands toward the Void Beast, a look of profound comfort and relief washing over her face.

"My child, Mommy has been waiting for you for so long!"

The eyeballs on the Void Beast’s body suddenly stopped darting around. They regained clarity, and a low, resonant cry escaped its maw.

"Mom... Mommy..."

Its lethal strike ground to a sudden halt barely a centimeter away from the woman’s abdomen. Then, under the watchful eyes of everyone present, the Void Beast dissolved into a sky full of blue spiritual particles, swirling down into the woman’s womb like homing birds returning to their nest.

Waaah!

Waaah!

The loud, clear cries of a newborn rang out!

The man named Shiba stumbled forward, rushing over to tightly embrace both the woman and the baby in his arms.

The Void Beasts that Alex had frozen gradually receded, and no new ones emerged from the walls.

All the villagers stood up, the old Village Chief’s eyes brimming with hot tears.

"Born! One has finally been born!"

"This is the first newborn in so many years!"

"There is still hope for humanity!"
