Chapter 59: Chapter 30: Two Heroes Force the Palace, Turmoil in the Sanctuary (Part 1)
This is... the talent skill of the Reincarnation Space?
It can even strip Divinity from beings other than Fallen Reincarnators?
The last time he killed that planet-sized mass of flesh, he only obtained 0.2 points of Divinity. Now, a single Hydra had just provided him with 5 whole points.
’As for this Divinity... I’ll take it.’
"Absorb!"
Wisps of golden light flowed from the Hydra’s serpentine head and surged into his body.
Alex felt the world before him become clearer and more translucent, while his body grew incredibly light. He could even vaguely make out countless fine, golden threads weaving through the air before his eyes...
But the moment he concentrated his gaze, the golden threads vanished completely.
As Alex completely absorbed the Divinity, the Hydra’s golden, slit-like pupils lost the last of their luster, leaving the beast utterly lifeless.
...
Saga waited anxiously on the shore. Several times, he debated diving into the black pool to track down Alex and the Hydra, but he feared the cunning beast might use the opportunity to slip away from the surface!
Suddenly, the black waters churned violently. Saga focused his complete attention, igniting his Cosmo as he prepared to unleash a thunderous, fatal strike.
Soon, however, he noticed a creeping whiteness freezing its way up from the depths of the pool. Only then did he slightly relax his guard.
Quickly, the entire pool of dark water froze solid into translucent ice, and a winding staircase of frost extended from the bottom of the lake all the way to the shore.
Alex slowly ascended the steps, dragging the Hydra’s python head behind him.
The Aquarius Gold Cloth gleamed with a cold luster beneath the sunlight, and his white cape fluttered lightly with each step, exuding an undeniably breathtaking presence!
Seeing this, Saga couldn’t help but let out a cold snort.
"Still such a show-off!"
No matter where Alex went, he always commanded such an imposing presence that no one dared to underestimate him—as if he were the true protagonist of this world.
Alex casually tossed the snake’s head before Saga. The golden, slit-like pupils still retained a lingering terror from its final moments.
"The Hydra has been slain. I have fulfilled my promise to you."
Saga’s jaw tightened. Only after a long silence did he force a sentence through his gritted teeth.
"Thank you. For this... I owe you a favor."
As incredibly proud as Saga was, even he had to admit that without Alex, there was absolutely no way he could have killed the Hydra today.
He grabbed the severed head and turned around, its dark blood leaving a long trail across the ice. He intended to bring this head to the ruins of the village to pay his respects to Mina, the girl who used to live in that village.
"Wait."
Alex’s voice drifted from behind him, as calm as a deep, unrippled pool of water.
Saga’s back stiffened, but he didn’t turn around.
"What, planning to drag me back to the Sanctuary? Give me one hour. Afterward, I will fight you to the bitter end. If I lose, you can kill me or torture me as you see fit!"
Alex let out a soft chuckle.
"I fulfilled my end of the bargain. But what about yours?"
Saga turned around in surprise, his dark eyes filled with confusion.
"You are already the strongest in the Sanctuary. I’ve even heard that you are set to ascend to the position of Pope. From then on, you will be second to only one and above all others. What could you possibly need me to do that you cannot do yourself?"
Alex’s expression remained perfectly calm.
"There is."
Saga fully faced him, his expression turning solemn.
"Speak, then... as long as it is within my power."
"Don’t worry, it is definitely something you can do... What I want you to do is..."
As Alex revealed his plan, even Saga of Gemini—a man who had weathered countless storms—couldn’t help but widen his eyes in absolute shock, crying out involuntarily.
"Alex, have you gone mad? How could that possibly work?!"
"If you and I join forces, no one in the current Sanctuary can stop us!"
Alex’s gaze was as sharp as a blade. Before Athena could fully reclaim her Godhead, and before the five core Bronze Saints could completely mature into their power...
...this was his only chance. Saga’s reappearance couldn’t have happened at a more perfect time!
Saga shook his head.
"Impossible! Do you think Athena simply doesn’t exist? Alex, you truly are a lunatic. You’re even crazier than I was back then!"
Alex let out a cold snort.
"If we want to reverse our predetermined destinies, conventional methods are completely useless. Tell me, Saga, are you afraid...?"
