Chapter 57: Chapter 29: Joining Forces Against the Enemy, Absorbing Divinity! (Part 1)

The three remaining heads of this monster each had a completely different form.

The central head retained the appearance of a giant python. Its golden, slit-like pupils lacked even a shred of emotion. When its serpentine maw opened wide, it revealed three rows of dagger-like fangs. The saliva dripping from between its teeth condensed into a dark green mist in mid-air.

The second head sported the antlers of a deer but possessed the snout of a crocodile, its eyes burning with a spectral, ghostly blue fire.

The rightmost head was the most bizarre. It actually bore half the face of a human woman, while the other half was entirely covered in scales. As its lips parted, it let out a screech that sounded like the wailing of a human infant.

Alex’s heart chilled slightly.

’It truly is the Nine-Headed Serpent, Hydra!’

But shouldn’t it have been decapitated and suppressed by Hercules back in ancient times?

Just how exactly had it been resurrected?

Before Alex could figure out the reason behind this, Saga’s Cosmo erupted like a raging volcano.

He raised both hands, condensing his Cosmo into a massive sphere of destructive energy before blasting it mercilessly toward the Hydra in the form of devastating rays!

"Galaxian Explosion!"

"Die, you vile beast!"

The principle behind Saga’s technique was to unleash his Cosmo to its absolute limit, recreating the catastrophic scene of stars shattering. In an incredibly short span of time, the surging energy possessed a destructive might comparable to a galactic explosion that could wipe out the Milky Way, rightfully earning its reputation as a powerful technique capable of destroying an entire planet in a single strike.

If it weren’t for the fact that Alex’s Absolute Zero could freeze photons—making it the natural counter to Saga’s technique—the Galaxian Explosion could completely and unequivocally be called the strongest technique among the Gold Saints!

Pillars of golden energy slammed into the Hydra’s scales, sending flesh and blood flying. The central snake head let out a low, guttural roar.

"Roar!"

The serpentine maw stretched open to its absolute limit, practically shielding its entire body.

Under Saga’s look of sheer disbelief, the Hydra actually used its physical body to swallow more than half the destructive power of his Galaxian Explosion!

Alex’s gaze turned freezing cold. Ancient monsters were indeed terrifying; it could actually swallow the ultimate technique of a Gold Saint as if it were a mere dessert.

Just how terrifyingly powerful must Hercules have been to defeat and seal this thing away?

One had to remember, Hercules was merely a demigod born to Zeus and Alcmene. It was only after his death that he was welcomed into the Divine Kingdom and canonized as the God of Strength.

Athena, on the other hand, was one of the mighty Twelve Olympian Gods, born directly from the head of Zeus himself.

By that calculation, Athena’s true strength was far more terrifying than Alex had ever anticipated!

"Alex, strike now!"

Seeing that the Galaxian Explosion couldn’t completely kill the monster, Saga had already leapt onto the Hydra’s back, continuously bombarding it with more blasts of his Galaxian Explosion.

A massive amount of scales went flying, and dark green blood splattered onto his Gold Cloth, emitting sharp, sizzling sounds.

The Hydra roared repeatedly. Its three heads twisted around, spewing beams of destructive light as it became locked in a fierce struggle with Saga!

Saga grabbed onto one of the Hydra’s heads with one hand and roared at Alex.

"What are you waiting for?"

Alex’s gaze turned icy. He raised his hands high above his head, and the phantom of the Aquarius constellation slowly materialized behind him!

"Move out of the way, Saga!"

Not daring to delay, Saga vaulted away from the Hydra’s body. In the very next second, the Absolute Zero washed over the Hydra with the speed of lightning!

The writhing, three-headed body of the Hydra came to an instantaneous halt. Even the tri-colored light spewing from its mouths froze solid in mid-air...

However, this stillness lasted for only a fleeting moment. A golden radiance suddenly erupted from the Hydra’s body. The ice shattered with a loud crack, and the spectral blue fire in the eye sockets of the crocodile head burned even more fiercely.

"It’s the blessing of Typhon!"

Saga called out the origin of the golden light radiating from the Hydra.

The Hydra’s father was Typhon, the hundred-headed dragon known as the Father of All Monsters. Typhon was a true descendant of the Titans and the son of Gaia, the Mother of All Gods.
