Chapter 49: Chapter 25: Camus’s Ambition, The Assembly of Saints! (Part 1)

"As you command, Your Holiness."

Alex replied in a deep voice, his gaze never leaving that dark silhouette.

He slowly backed away. Only after he was a hundred meters away did that prickling, oppressive sensation finally ease.

Only now did he realize that Athena was absolutely not as weak as she was portrayed in the original plotline. How could Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom and War who struck fear into the hearts of the gods, possibly be a pushover?

If necessary, Athena could erupt with a terrifying combat prowess on par with Hades, the God of the Underworld.

Among the Twelve Olympian Gods of the Saint Seiya universe, not a single one was weak!

Just as he was about to step out the temple doors, Shion’s voice chased after him from the darkness.

"Once this matter is settled, you shall succeed me as Pope. I am old. I wish to return to my homeland, the Jamir Plateau, to take a look around."

This time, Shion’s tone was no longer open for discussion; it was an absolute command.

Alex’s footsteps paused slightly. He didn’t look back, and his figure quickly vanished at the end of the corridor.

Only when Alex’s footsteps had completely faded away did Shion speak flatly.

"Come out, Camus!"

A young man with long blue hair walked out from the darkness, dropping to one knee before Shion.

Shion had ignited his Cosmo earlier precisely to conceal Camus’s presence.

Shion spoke coldly, his face completely expressionless.

"Follow Alex. If he refuses to exert his full effort, you know what to do."

Camus didn’t dare to raise his head, replying in a low voice.

"Understood, Your Holiness!"

Shion’s gaze flickered. He raised his head to look at the firmament. Above his throne was a pane of transparent glass, allowing an unobstructed view of the starry sky.

"Go. I have observed the stars at night. Back then, the trajectory of Aquarius deviated, forming the spectacle of twin companion stars—an event rarely seen in a millennium. The Aquarius Cloth can belong to Alex, but it can also belong to you. Once this matter is concluded, Alex will vacate the Aquarius Temple to become Pope, and you shall once again take control of Aquarius..."

Camus clenched his fists tightly, his body trembling slightly.

"Yes, I understand..."

Losing to Alex and being stripped of the Aquarius Cloth was an eternal pain in Camus’s heart. Now, presented with the opportunity to reclaim the armor, how could Camus not be overwhelmed with emotion?

Shion watched Camus’s retreating back and slowly leaned against his throne, his eyes returning to their original color.

Over the years, he had watched Alex grow step-by-step into the strongest Gold Saint. How could he not understand Alex’s true thoughts?

Shion let out a slow, inward sigh.

"Alex, I have no choice... and neither do you..."

...

Alex returned to the Aquarius Temple, closing his eyes in the darkness like a solitary statue.

That oppressive sensation from earlier, and the massive shadow behind Shion—he definitely hadn’t seen it wrong. It was absolutely Athena descending personally.

It seemed the changes brought to the Saint Seiya world by his presence as a transmigrator had given Athena a sense of losing control. That was why she couldn’t wait to possess Shion and issue the highest order directly to Alex.

Athena’s order also left Alex feeling both amused and exasperated. The Sagittarius Cloth was sitting right inside his private dimensional space. Telling him to retrieve it... how was he supposed to find it, and how could he possibly return it?

Could it be a deity’s intuition that let Athena know the disappearance of the Sagittarius Cloth was definitely related to him?

But how could he possibly return something that was already in his hands?

The God-Slaying capability of the Sagittarius Cloth was one of the abilities Alex needed most urgently right now. It was absolutely impossible for him to surrender it.

Not to mention, he had already used an Origin Crystal to modify the armor. The moment he took it out, Athena would undoubtedly sense the anomaly.

Therefore...

Alex opened his eyes, his dark pupils glinting like brilliant stars in the pitch-black temple.

...

Dooooo!

As the low, resonant blast of the horn echoed, the sunlight breached the spires of the Twelve Temples of the Zodiac. By the time the morning rays illuminated the plaza in front of the sacred mountain, nearly a hundred figures had already gathered!
