Chapter 33: Chapter 17: Son of the God King? Divine Word Spell? (Part 1)

The howling wind whipped past as the giant bat flapped its wings. Alex, transformed into a bolt of lightning, hovered at the edge of the clouds, maintaining a steady distance from the monster.

After flying for about an hour, the giant bat landed in a dense forest.

The zombies hauled the young girl—who had long since passed out from sheer terror—onto their shoulders and walked toward a low hill not far away.

They grunted and growled continuously, seemingly communicating in some form.

Standing atop the tree canopy, Alex’s gaze shifted slightly.

’Judging by the way these zombies were interacting, had they evolved their own language?’

Coupled with the sprawling networks of subterranean burrows he had seen along the way, Alex could roughly confirm that the Reincarnation World he was currently in was I Am Legend!

The zombies in the I Am Legend universe harbored an extreme aversion to sunlight, possessed decent intelligence, and could communicate simply through low growls. All these traits perfectly matched the Darkseekers from his memory.

Everything aligned perfectly with the zombies of this world.

However, for some unknown reason, the zombies in this iteration had actually evolved the ability to speak human languages and possessed a complete civilization.

From what he had observed along the way, Alex could even say that aside from their terrifying, hideous appearances and their craving for flesh and blood, these zombies were fundamentally no different from humans. They were an independent civilization.

"Is there a way for me to understand what they’re saying?" Alex directly asked the Reincarnation Space.

Countless characters flashed before Alex’s eyes. Instantly, he could understand exactly what these few zombies were discussing in their native tongue.

"We only managed to catch one wild human. I wonder if it’ll be enough for the King to enjoy."

"Wild humans are getting rarer and rarer these days. We’re lucky we even managed to catch one."

"Sigh, the taste of farm-raised, artificially fattened humans just can’t compare to the wild ones."

"Exactly. Farm-raised humans are artificially matured in just a few years and pumped full of hormones. Eating them is like chewing on wax..."

"This woman smells pretty good. I wonder what the King will reward us with this time."

"It’d be great if he rewarded me with a beauty..."

"Gaha! Look at you, you wimp. That part of you rotted off a long time ago, and you still want a beauty?"

"..."

’Humans were being raised as livestock? It seemed the progression of this world had degraded to a point of no return.’

Looking at the caves beneath the hill, the mountainside was riddled with artificially excavated entrances where zombies constantly moved in and out.

Alex knew this had to be a major stronghold for the zombies.

The corners of Alex’s mouth curled up slightly. ’Well then, let the hunt begin!’

His figure transformed into a blinding bolt of golden lightning, tearing through the night sky and plummeting straight down!

Crack! Boom!

A thunderous explosion rocked the dense forest. The peak of the hill was instantly blasted open by the lightning, sending shattered rock and dirt cascading down like a waterfall.

The ground trembled violently, and the distant trees shook without pause.

The zombies were dumbfounded, completely failing to notice that the young girl had slipped from their shoulders and fallen to the ground.

"What happened? What just crashed into the royal palace?"

"Was it a meteor?"

"It doesn’t feel like it. Why did it look like a person to me?"

"Are you joking? How could a weak race like humans pull off something like that? Even the strongest Divine Warriors of our Divine Race can’t do that!"

...

While they were arguing endlessly, Alex had already pierced through the collapsing rock strata and descended into the underground palace.

The sight before him caused his pupils to shrink slightly. It was an incredibly spacious grand hall. Chandeliers strung from human bones hung from the domed ceiling, casting a dim, yellow firelight that made the walls gleam with a sickly opulence.
