Chapter 130: Chapter 65: The Freezing Hell, Hourglass of Time! (Part 2)
When Alex had returned to the Cancer Temple earlier, Deathmask had already been sent into the void by Shiryu, so he never actually saw Alex’s return.
Therefore, at this moment, he naturally assumed that it was his own Sekishiki Meikai Ha (Underworld Waves) that had killed Alex!
Thinking of this, Deathmask couldn’t help but grin widely.
"I’m so glad that even in death, I managed to drag you down with me!"
Alex walked over, leaned down, and patted Deathmask’s messy hair as if he were petting a dog.
"Deathmask, remember this: not all people are the same!"
"I came here merely to verify a few things, and to awaken the Eighth Sense while I’m at it. You, on the other hand, are truly dead!"
Deathmask’s smile froze instantly, quickly morphing into a cold sneer.
"Alex, you’re still acting tough at a time like this? When I first got here, I struggled and refused to believe reality just like you, but what’s the point?"
He looked up at the giant palm about to descend from the sky, a flash of schadenfreude mixed with terror in his eyes.
"No one can resist the punishment of the Underworld’s prison! I’ll be waiting to watch you weep bitterly and repent right beside me!"
Alex smiled faintly and stood up straight. The giant palm in the air was about to touch the top of his head; even its palm lines were clearly visible!
He looked up at the massive phantom in the sky.
"I will remember you. You had better pray that I don’t find you in the years to come!"
"Hmph. Every Saint is just as arrogant when they arrive!"
The massive phantom completely dismissed Alex’s threat. In its eyes, Alex had only one fate: just like the Saints of the past thousands of years, he would be completely sealed in ice in this endless hell, suffering eternal punishment!
The countdown before Alex’s eyes finally reached 0!
.....
In the outside world, inside the Ophiuchus Temple, the phantom of a golden hourglass suddenly appeared above Alex’s body. The hourglass slowly tilted, and the golden Sands of Time flowed from one end to the other, radiating a warm, comforting glow.
A transparent phantom drifted out of the hourglass and slowly merged into Alex’s body.
In the next second, Alex’s body actually levitated from the ground on its own. The lethal wound on his chest healed at a visible rate. The spilled blood returned to his body like time flowing backward, and his pale skin gradually regained its color.
The four indomitable Bronze Saints widened their eyes, their mouths hanging open wide enough to fit a fist, their eyes filled with absolute shock.
The smile on Asclepius’s face froze instantly, a flash of complete disbelief crossing his eyes. A person completely slain by the power of his Divine Domain was actually resurrecting from the dead?
....
Meanwhile, back in the Freezing Hell!
The giant palm violently smashed against the solid ice. Black ice shards shattered and scattered, falling like a drizzle of black snow.
The souls of the Saints embedded in the ice were blown to pieces by the shockwave. Yet, not long after, these souls were pieced back together by the absolute power of the Underworld’s rules. The shattered ice surface also quickly restored itself, as if the devastating impact had never happened.
This was the Eighth Prison of the Underworld, Cocytus—the Freezing Hell. Anyone who came here would be forever frozen in the ice, unable to reincarnate for eternity. Even if their souls were destroyed, they would continuously regenerate only to endure endless punishment.
The moment Deathmask’s soul was restored, he couldn’t wait to look in the direction where Alex had been standing, ready to admire his pathetic state.
"Alex, didn’t you say you were just here to take a look? What about now? Frozen solid, aren’t you!"
He burst into loud, mocking laughter, but just as his laughter faded, a deep voice echoed beside him.
"Shut up. Cancer of this generation, the ’Alex’ you speak of has already left. As a fellow Cancer Saint, I am truly ashamed of you."
Deathmask jerked his head around. When he clearly saw the appearance of the person beside him, his pupils contracted sharply, and his voice trembled.
"S-Senior Manigoldo?!"
The speaker had wild, burgundy short hair. His face couldn’t be considered conventionally handsome, but it exuded an untamed, razor-sharp aura. It was none other than the Cancer Gold Saint recorded in the ancient texts: Manigoldo.
He curled his lip, looking at Deathmask with disdain.
"Don’t call me senior. I have no such cowardly successor as you."
Deathmask opened his mouth, wanting to retort, but under Manigoldo’s piercing gaze, he swallowed his words forcefully back down.
