Chapter 119: Chapter 60: Want to Die? It’s Not That Easy! (Part 1)

Inside the Virgo Temple, Shaka’s Buddha light and the Phoenix’s undying flames had long since churned into a chaotic mass.

On the walls, the glazed lamps of the twelve Buddha statues had all shattered. The turbulent flow of violent energy carved dense, web-like cracks into the smooth glazed floor tiles.

Ikki fell time and time again, and time and time again, he was reborn from the ashes.

With each death and rebirth, the Phoenix flames surrounding him grew even more blazing. The damaged Bronze Cloth reassembled in the fire, the patterns on its wings gradually turning from dark red to a dazzling crimson. Even the air distorted, scorched by this undying will.

Shaka had long since opened his eyes. His face no longer held its usual tranquility; replacing it was a solemnity and a barely perceptible trace of emotion.

’This Bronze Saint is incredibly tenacious!’

He levitated above the lotus dais. Endless Buddha light cascaded down like a waterfall. The golden light curtain of the Tenbu Horin (Treasures of Heaven) repeatedly unfurled, sending Ikki flying time and again.

Had it been any Gold Saint who had awakened the Seventh Sense, their soul would have already been scattered under such an onslaught. Yet, this blood-soaked youth before him was like an unkillable weed, always managing to charge out from the gaps in the Buddha light and lunge at him with even more ferocious power.

’The Seventh Sense... he actually achieved the Seventh Sense in the midst of battle!’ Shaka could clearly sense Ikki’s Cosmo climbing at an astonishing speed, breaking all the way from the initial Sixth Sense Bronze level to near the height of a Gold Saint, even faintly showing signs of surpassing it.

"Phoenix Illusion Demon Fist!"

Ikki’s Cosmo suddenly erupted, transforming into a crimson immortal bird with a wingspan of dozens of meters.

Wherever the immortal bird’s wings passed, the air ignited into roaring walls of fire. It charged at Shaka at a speed surpassing light, its sharp beak aiming straight for Shaka’s forehead.

This was the Phoenix’s mental attack, capable of directly tearing apart the enemy’s consciousness and dragging them into an endless hell of illusions.

Shaka, however, merely nodded slightly. The vermilion mark between his brows suddenly lit up like a burning ruby.

"Illusions are useless against me."

Shaka formed the Boundless Mudra with his hands. The Buddha light around him instantly became so dense it seemed corporeal. Golden light patterns wove into an impenetrable net in front of him.

The immortal bird crashed into the net of light, letting out a mournful shriek before being completely dispelled by the Buddha light, not even leaving a single ripple behind.

Ikki’s body completely froze. ’Even a mental attack is ineffective? Is this man before me truly human? ’

But the word "retreat" did not exist in Ikki’s dictionary. The absolute resolve in his eyes ignited once more.

Ikki took a deep breath. The Cosmo throughout his entire body burned madly. The feathers of the Phoenix Cloth detached one by one, turning into a sky full of fiery rain that dyed the entire Virgo Temple crimson.

"Take this! Phoenix’s Wings Rise!"

Countless flaming fist shadows sliced through the air like meteors, hurtling toward Shaka with a world-destroying momentum.

A flash of genuine emotion finally crossed Shaka’s eyes. He brought his palms together, and the golden Buddha light gathered above his head to form the massive phantom of a Buddha. The Buddha slowly opened its eyes, radiating both compassion and absolute majesty.

"Tenma Kofuku!" (Capitulation of the Demons)

Alex was currently standing outside the Virgo Temple, quietly observing the two in their life-and-death struggle.

Both of their Cosmos had broken past their limits. If this clash connected, both sides would likely suffer devastating injuries.

Ikki was the immortal bird; even if he died, he could resurrect infinitely. If Shaka died, he would truly be dead.

In truth, throughout the entire process of the five Bronze Saints storming the Twelve Zodiac Temples, the one thing Alex could not understand the most was Shaka’s fall.

A few years ago, when he visited Shaka, he already knew that Shaka had awakened the Eighth Sense. At that time, Shaka was unwilling to fight him. Instead, he chose to escape into the void, allowing Alex to freeze the Virgo Temple over without ever making a move.

In this generation, the true realm of the Virgo Saint should be the highest among all the Gold Saints.

The problem, however, lay in the fact that Shaka had awakened the Eighth Sense too early. Born with the ability to commune with Buddha, his nature was overly detached—so detached that he had long lost any fear of death.
