Chapter 107: Chapter 54: A Hero in His Twilight? (Part 1)

Fifty years ago, Alex’s Aurora Execution froze the entire globe—a scene that has been passed down through human generations as a sacred legend. The statue he currently inhabits was sculpted in his likeness: clad in the Sagittarius Gold Cloth, posed in the signature stance of the Aquarius ultimate technique.

"Lord Alex’s Cloth has manifested!"

A deafening cheer erupted from the crowd.

A youth who had just awakened his extraordinary abilities clenched his fists, watching the flickering flames in his palms with eyes full of fanaticism. An elderly woman, leaning heavily on her cane, tremblingly touched the base of the statue, tears streaming down the deep crevices of her face. She was the little girl Alex had saved from a plane crash half a century ago. Fifty years had passed; seeing that armor again made her feel as though time itself had folded.

"Humanity shall prevail!"

The morale of the human faction soared to its zenith!

Bourne, mounted atop his Frost Dragon, retreated in a panic. His body shook violently; the psychological trauma that man had inflicted upon him remained as vivid as if it had happened yesterday.

Memories from fifty years ago surged back like a tide: massive ice spikes piercing the earth from the sky, lightning dancing wildly within the frost, and the entire world enveloped in a white, silent death. His father, the former King of the Darkseekers, had been transformed into an eternal ice sculpture during that freezing purge.

Bourne knew he was absolutely no match for the man humans worshipped as a god. During his years in hiding, he hadn’t even dared to approach the statue, even when it was left unguarded. But fifty years had passed. That human had never appeared again.

Today, he had finally summoned the courage to gather the elite warriors of the Darkseekers, intending to wipe out the very last trace of that man from this world. He never expected that the moment he arrived at the temple, that demon would descend once more!

"Retreat... retreat! All forces, fall back!"

Bourne’s voice carried an uncontrollable tremor, his fangs chattering with a sharp click-clack. He stared fixedly at the Sagittarius Cloth in the sky—the familiar golden luster and the star patterns on the bow told him one thing: the demon had returned.

"My King, what are you afraid of?"

A raspy voice drifted from his side. The Chief High Priest sat atop a Bone Eagle, his grey-white sacrificial robes embroidered with twisted demonic runes. His cloudy white pupils swept across the sky, a sneer of disdain curling his lips.

As a member of the new generation born after the Great Frost, he had never witnessed Alex’s terror. He viewed the legend of the global freeze as nothing more than a hyperbolic human lie. He had once led a hundred priests in an attempt to freeze a single valley; they had exhausted their magic and only managed to frost over half a mountain range. In his mind, how could a single person freeze an entire world? Not even a god could do that!

He glanced at God-King Bourne.

"My King, according to my observations, that is merely an empty shell of armor. We have brought ten thousand divine priests with us today. With our combined Protective Divine Arts, not even a god could harm a hair on your head!"

Armor?

Bourne steeled his nerves and looked closer. Sure enough, the golden armor in the sky was hollow—there was no one inside! He bared his fangs, a savage grin spreading across his face as he believed he had seen through the deception.

"Haha! So, all you are now is a suit of armor?"

The High Priest leaned in and whispered a few more words. Bourne nodded, his confidence returning.

"I see now. Humans are fragile creatures with short lifespans. Fifty years have passed; you must be an old, frail wreck by now! That’s why you don’t dare show your true form. You sent this armor out alone, hoping to scare us off!"

Alex didn’t have time for Bourne’s posturing. Back in the Sanctuary, his physical body sensed a massive, unfamiliar Cosmo quietly appearing on the sacred mountain. It was a power unlike anything he had felt before.

At this stage, there should only be Gold Saints and the five Bronze Saints on the mountain. Where did this mysterious powerhouse come from? This abnormal disturbance reminded him of a specific legend.

He couldn’t afford to delay. This had to be finished quickly!
