Chapter 908: Chapter 908: Haunted Motel

The corridor was narrow, the lights dim, the wall paint peeling off slightly, and the air filled with a damp moldy smell.

The floor was covered with a faded red carpet, soft as you stepped on it, with some spots bulging.

As the two walked inside, they encountered a guest, a man in his forties, wearing a dirty work uniform. Seeing them, he gave them a strange look, sized them up, muttered something under his breath, and quickly walked away.

Feng Jiuge frowned, having felt something unsettling about the man’s gaze.

They reached the innermost room and unlocked the door with a key, greeted by a stale odor.

The room was small, with a double bed, an old-fashioned wardrobe, a small television whose condition was questionable, and a window facing a wall with no view.

The curtains were that kind of old-fashioned floral fabric, washed to the point of fading, with some torn corners.

The sheets looked clean, but the pillow had a faint moldy smell.

"This place is in terrible condition."

Feng Jiuge frowned; she hadn’t stayed in such small motels despite wandering for many years.

"Just bear with it for one night, tomorrow we’re going to the Cui Family."

Yang Cheng closed the door, taking off his jacket to hang on the rack.

Feng Jiuge walked into the bathroom, turned on the faucet to test the water temperature, and waited for a while, but it didn’t get warm. Only a thin stream of cold water came out.

"Why is there no hot water? I wanted to take a shower!"

She tried again, but the result was the same.

"I’ll go ask the front desk."

Feng Jiuge threw on her jacket and stepped out of the room.

As she went downstairs, she happened to encounter a sixty-something woman wearing a floral shirt, walking from the other end of the corridor. The woman had graying hair, a face full of wrinkles, and was carrying a water bucket.

"Girl, you’re staying in the innermost room, right?"

The woman blocked her way, speaking mysteriously and lowering her voice.

"Yes, what’s the matter?"

Feng Jiuge felt a bit puzzled.

The woman looked around, drew a few steps closer, her voice even lower, as if she was revealing a secret.

"Girl, I’d advise you to stay somewhere else. That room... it’s not clean."

"Not clean? What do you mean?"

Feng Jiuge frowned.

"That room had an incident years ago. A man caught his wife cheating and hacked both her and the lover to death, then hanged himself at the bathroom doorway." The woman described animatedly, her eyes wide, "Since then, it’s been haunted. People staying there claim to see ghosts at night, hear grinding teeth and crying sounds, scared half to death, so the room was sealed and usually left vacant."

Feng Jiuge’s eyebrows furrowed, asking, "Then why was it opened today?"

"Well, it’s because there are too many guests today, all other rooms are full, so the owner assigned you there."

The woman sighed, "She’s taking advantage of you being outsiders who don’t know the situation. Girl, take my advice, better switch rooms to avoid risking your life for a few dozen bucks."

Feng Jiuge felt a chill down her spine but maintained her composure, "Auntie, thank you for the reminder, I’ll go discuss it with my friend."

"Alright, alright, you should discuss it. If it doesn’t work out, try the street next door, there’s another motel there, a bit pricier but clean."

With that, the woman picked up her water bucket and walked away.

Feng Jiuge stood in the corridor, hesitated briefly, then turned around and went upstairs.

Pushing the door open, Yang Cheng was lying in bed looking at his phone. Seeing her disarrayed steps, he asked, "What’s wrong? You look pale."

"Downstairs, a woman said our room is haunted."

Feng Jiuge walked over, sat beside him, and repeated the woman’s words.

Yang Cheng listened, not afraid at all, in fact, he chuckled.

"I thought it was something serious, haunted? Do you believe it?"

"I... I don’t believe it, but hearing her say that unnerves me, and this place’s condition is indeed poor, maybe we should change motels."

Feng Jiuge leaned against his chest, feeling the warmth of his body, some of her unease dissipating, but still a bit anxious.

"Come on, don’t overthink it."

Yang Cheng put an arm around her shoulder, "There are no ghosts in this world, and even if there were, they’d be afraid of my Pure Yang Dragon Physique."

Feng Jiuge was amused, looking up at him, "You bragger."

"Don’t believe it? Then just you wait for tonight."

Yang Cheng lowered his head to kiss her forehead, his large hand wandering over her tender body.

He pulled Feng Jiuge onto the bed, reached inside her clothes, unlacing her bra, and began kneading her soft bosom.

"Ah... feels so good."

Feng Jiuge’s body was so sensitive; just a touch made her go limp, her breathing growing ragged.

Yang Cheng leaned over, pinning her beneath him, and sealed her tender red lips with his, igniting a fire all over her body.

"Stop it, I haven’t showered!"

Feng Jiuge gasped, trying to push him away, but without much strength.

"No showering, we’re not doing anything tonight."

Saying this, Yang Cheng flipped over to lie beside her, pulling her into his arms, forcibly suppressing his desires.

"Not doing anything?"

Feng Jiuge looked surprised, usually, the man was insatiable, why was he voluntarily abstaining tonight? Could he be bored?

She glared at Yang Cheng resentfully, making him thoroughly uncomfortable.

"Yang Cheng, you haven’t fallen for Miss Cui, have you? Is that why you don’t find me interesting anymore?"

"What nonsense!"

Yang Cheng was speechless, quickly explaining, "I just think you’re too tired, holding back not to touch you, besides the sheets are dirty, inconvenient for anything, yet you wronged me!"

Seeing him look so aggrieved, Feng Jiuge hurriedly apologized, "I’m sorry, I misunderstood you. But aren’t you uncomfortable?"

Her small hand slipped under the blanket, feeling something hot and immediately a tingling sensation spread through her body.

"Then help me with your hand, and I’ll help you too."

Yang Cheng chuckled, reaching out to her.

Soon, the room echoed with ambiguous sounds of a man and woman.

After a while, Feng Jiuge nestled in Yang Cheng’s arms, contentedly closing her eyes.

Listening to the strong beat of his heart, her unease gradually faded, her breathing calmed.

Yang Cheng turned off the light, held Feng Jiuge, and they drifted to sleep.

It was late at night, the small motel eerily quiet, not even a sound from the corridor.

Yang Cheng’s ears perked up slightly; he sensed something moving in the room.

Not footsteps, but a faint rustling sound, like something crawling on the floor, or clothes brushing the ground.

Simultaneously, a peculiar grinding sound filled the darkness, creaking and scratching, as if someone was gnawing a.

hard object, sending chills down the spine.
