"We’re here already?"

Perhaps because she had been lost in thought, Yun Zijin felt the trip from Jade Lake to Lu’s Sanatorium had gone by rather quickly today.

Zero One had already gotten out and opened the car door for Chu Jiangyue.

Lu Yunque had been in meetings all morning, so she was the only one who came today. However, the Lu Family had arranged for Mrs. Zhang from the Lu Family’s Old Mansion to come and brew the medicine.

Mrs. Zhang had previously been responsible for brewing medicine for the two elders of the Lu Family at the old mansion, and she never made a mistake.

So, this time, since Lu Yunzhou needed medicine brewed, the two elders specifically asked Mrs. Zhang to come and help Yun Zijin with it.

However, Mrs. Zhang was likely on her way to pick up the herbs right now. When Yun Zijin arrived at the sanatorium, the guards already recognized her. They simply had her complete a quick visitor registration before letting her through.

This wasn’t Yun Zijin’s first visit. Upon entering the sanatorium, she headed straight for Lu Yunzhou’s room.

Since the Lu Family had invested in and opened the facility, Lu Yunzhou’s treatment at the sanatorium was of the highest standard.

It was called a patient room, but it was actually a suite with a living room, a kitchen, and even a study and a balcony. Besides Lu Yunzhou’s bedroom, there was a second bedroom for whoever was staying overnight to look after him.

The two rooms were connected by a call bell, so it was easy to summon help even if something happened at night.

Currently, however, the room was mostly used by the caregiver the Lu Family had hired for Lu Yunzhou.

By this time, Lu Yunzhou was already awake. When Yun Zijin walked into his room, he was eating breakfast.

Although the sanatorium’s nutritional meals were quite good, Lu Yunzhou was eating the food Huo Yue Lan had instructed Mrs. Zhang to bring over in a thermal lunch box.

The dishes were light, but the flavor was absolutely superb.

The patient meals for the wealthy and the patient meals for ordinary people were two completely different concepts.

Seeing Yun Zijin enter, Lu Yunzhou quickly greeted her. "Sister-in-law, you’re here! Mrs. Zhang brought breakfast, and there’s quite a lot. Want to have some?"

Anticipating that there might be other visitors, Huo Yue Lan had intentionally packed a larger portion and included more than one set of bowls and chopsticks.

After all, they couldn’t possibly offer guests used utensils.

"No, thank you. I ate before I came over, so I’m still full."

Yun Zijin wasn’t just being polite; she was telling the truth.

After getting to know him over their several meetings recently, Yun Zijin had a fairly good understanding of Lu Yunzhou.

She knew his invitation to breakfast was sincere, but she really couldn’t eat another bite.

"Alright, then. Just wait a bit. I’ll finish eating, and then we can do the acupuncture."

The memory of yesterday’s pain made Lu Yunzhou momentarily want to back out. But the thought that enduring this would allow him to stand again filled him with fighting spirit.

He didn’t expect to recover to his pre-injury condition. He only hoped to be able to walk normally and not have it affect his daily life.

After such a severe injury, it was basically impossible for Lu Yunzhou to return to his original post. He could only be transferred to a different position.

Although Lu Yunzhou felt some regret about not being able to continue his military career, a new post would mean he’d have more time to spend with his family.

It could be said that there were pros and cons to each path; it all came down to personal preference.

Yun Zijin nodded. "It’s fine, take your time. I’m not in a hurry."

’He’ll need a full stomach to have the strength to deal with the pain of the acupuncture later.’

If Lu Yunzhou knew what Yun Zijin was thinking, he might have retorted, ’How cruel.’

While Lu Yunzhou was eating, Yun Zijin stepped out of the room and took a stroll around the sanatorium grounds.

When she estimated enough time had passed and Lu Yunzhou should have finished his breakfast, Yun Zijin returned to his room.

"Finished eating?"

Yun Zijin looked at Lu Yunzhou.

"Just finished. Your timing is perfect."

Lu Yunzhou had finished his meal and rested for a little while. Yun Zijin’s return at this moment was timed just right.

"Then are we ready to start the acupuncture? Are you prepared?"

Yun Zijin took out her silver needles from her bag, along with one Nourishing Body Pill, and handed it to Lu Yunzhou.

"This is today’s Nourishing Body Pill. You can take it, and then we’ll begin the acupuncture."

Lu Yunzhou took a moment to mentally prepare himself before taking the Nourishing Body Pill from Yun Zijin’s hand and swallowing it in one gulp.

"Let’s begin."

Lu Yunzhou obediently lay down on the bed. He was wearing only a pair of shorts, with a blanket covering him.

Yun Zijin first sterilized the silver needles she would be using, then officially began today’s acupuncture session.

To protect Lu Yunzhou’s privacy, everyone except Yun Zijin left the room while she administered the needles.

The room was well soundproofed. Once the door was closed, nothing could be heard from the outside.

As Yun Zijin inserted the first needle, excruciating pain shot through Lu Yunzhou’s leg, and the veins on his forehead bulged.

To prevent Lu Yunzhou from biting his tongue while struggling, Yun Zijin had given him a small wooden stick to bite down on as she inserted the first needle.

If he accidentally bit his tongue, it would just be more trouble for her.

Knowing that Yun Zijin had to give Lu Yunzhou acupuncture every day during this period, Huo Yue Lan had rushed over as soon as she received a notification from Mrs. Zhang that Yun Zijin had arrived at the sanatorium.

By the time she arrived, Yun Zijin had already begun the treatment, and the door to the room was closed.

Huo Yue Lan was afraid that opening the door would disrupt Yun Zijin, so she could only stand outside, waiting with a look of extreme anxiety on her face.

"Ma’am, please don’t be anxious. Since Miss Yun is known as the National Medical Saint Hand, she must have extraordinary skills. The Young Master will be fine."

Just then, Lu Yunfeng also rushed in from outside.

"Aunt, you should sit down and wait. It’s tiring to stand for so long."

Lu Yunque didn’t have time to come, but he was worried Huo Yue Lan would become too anxious and something might happen to her health, so he had specifically asked Lu Yunfeng to come and keep an eye on things.

There were many conflicting rumors about Lu Yunzhou’s injury circulating in their social circle, so Lu Yunfeng had stayed away, afraid his visit might be inconvenient.

But when he received Lu Yunque’s call, Lu Yunfeng agreed without a moment’s hesitation.

He just hadn’t expected that even after setting an alarm, he would still be the last to arrive.

When he learned that the person giving Lu Yunzhou acupuncture in the room was Yun Zijin, Lu Yunfeng had a feeling that this was how it was meant to be.

"I know Zijin is a capable girl, but I... I can’t help but worry."

She had been there watching the treatment yesterday. Lu Yunzhou’s veins had been bulging the entire time, and he was in so much pain he couldn’t even make a sound.

"Please, try to relax. Big Brother certainly wouldn’t want you to worry because of him."

"Then I’ll sit."

Speaking of Lu Yunzhou, Huo Yue Lan had always felt she owed him.

After all, Lu Yunzhou had preferred painting, but for the sake of the Lu Family’s legacy, he voluntarily gave up his dream and established himself in the military.

As for why it was Lu Yunzhou and not Lu Yunque who went...

It was because Lu Yunzhou had absolutely no talent for business. To prevent the Lu Family’s fortunes from declining in their generation, Lu Yunque inherited the Lu Group, while Lu Yunzhou inherited Lu Zhengguo’s mantle.

Huo Yue Lan didn’t know how long she waited outside the room; every second felt like a year. When the door finally opened, she felt as if an entire lifetime had passed.
