At lunchtime, even if Lu Yunque didn’t order out, he’d have Mo Bin grab something from the company cafeteria and bring it to the small dining area in his office.

So, if Yun Zijin went up now, she would definitely find Lu Yunque in his office, unless he was away on a last-minute business trip.

And Mo Bin, who was lurking in the employee group chat, saw the news of Yun Zijin’s arrival at the Lu Group and reported it to Lu Yunque at once.

Lu Yunque gave Mo Bin an appreciative look. "Your bonus is doubled this month."

’Having such a perceptive assistant really saves a lot of trouble.’

To be honest, Lu Yunque had gone through quite a few assistants in the beginning. It wasn’t until Mo Bin came along that he finally stopped looking for a replacement.

And during his time as Lu Yunque’s assistant, Mo Bin had fully demonstrated his capabilities, successfully becoming the one and only permanent assistant by his side.

At the Lu Group, Mo Bin was perfectly capable of handling all tasks in Lu Yunque’s absence, ensuring the company could continue to run smoothly.

"Thank you, President!"

Hearing his bonus would be doubled, Mo Bin couldn’t suppress the smile on his face.

’As expected, as long as I keep Miss Yun happy, promotions and raises are a sure thing!’

’He didn’t need a promotion anymore, but a raise was always something to look forward to.’

"Alright, call the restaurant we’re ordering from today and tell them to make it a lunch for two."

"Yes, President. I’ll call and arrange it right away!"

’It was an oversight on my part. I didn’t expect Miss Yun might come looking for the President and only ordered a meal for one. I’ll have to be more careful next time.’

’Then again, this was a surprise visit from Yun Zijin. No matter how competent he was, he couldn’t predict the future.’

Yun Zijin had no idea her arrival had put Mo Bin in a difficult spot regarding the lunch order.

The elevator quickly reached the top floor of the Lu Group Building. As the doors opened, Yun Zijin saw Lu Yunque already waiting for her right outside.

But upon seeing Lu Yunque, a surprised expression appeared on Yun Zijin’s face.

"What are you doing here?"

’Shouldn’t Lu Yunque be buried in all sorts of project documents for the Lu Group right now?’

"Mo Bin told me. He saw someone post about you in the employee group chat, complete with a picture of you from behind."

Although Mo Bin and Yun Zijin were only nodding acquaintances, that didn’t stop him from observing her meticulously for the sake of his bonus.

He was determined to become the kind of "die-hard fan" who could recognize his boss’s girlfriend from her silhouette alone.

Yun Zijin understood. ’So that’s how it was.’

’I wonder if the people in that group chat know Mo Bin is in there too.’

’But it’s their lunch break. Even if they’re on their phones gossiping, Mo Bin can’t say anything about it.’

’After all, it’s their own business what they choose to post in the group chat. It’s their freedom.’

"Let’s go. I didn’t know you were coming, so I had the restaurant add another lunch to the order at the last minute. We might have to wait a little."

Lu Yunque reached out and took Yun Zijin’s hand, explaining about lunch as he led her into his office.

"It’s fine. I just came from the Wangyou Milk Tea Shop. I finished a milk tea not long ago, so I’m not hungry yet."

The bad mood she’d been in since her morning at Yuepin Media completely vanished the moment she saw Lu Yunque.

’If Yuepin Media couldn’t break its habit of miscasting actors, she would consider selling off her shares.’

When he heard that Yun Zijin had gone to the Wangyou Milk Tea Shop and had a milk tea, Lu Yunque’s brow furrowed slightly.

"What’s wrong?"

Since Yun Zijin could make Wangyou Milk Tea herself whenever she wanted, she didn’t usually crave it.

"I had a meeting this morning."

Yun Zijin then briefly explained what had happened at Yuepin Media that morning. "I just don’t get it. Can’t television shows just cast their actors properly these days?"

’She was sick of seeing shows that treated the audience like idiots.’

"Don’t worry about it. There’s something wrong with their way of thinking. You’re right."

Although the Lu Group had subsidiaries involved in the entertainment industry, Lu Yunque wasn’t in charge of their operations.

It was only after hearing about Yun Zijin’s recent dealings with an entertainment company that Lu Yunque even remembered the Lu Group’s own entertainment subsidiary.

"If they don’t change their ways, I’ll consider selling my shares."

Yun Zijin wasn’t the type to tolerate imperfections. If Yuepin Media’s practices didn’t change, she absolutely wouldn’t stand for it.

"The Lu Group has its own entertainment subsidiary. If you’re interested, you can take it and play around with it."

To the Lu Group, such a subsidiary was nothing special, but to anyone else, an entertainment company backed by the Lu Group had a powerful foundation, deep pockets, and abundant resources.

"No way. I’m already finding this small stake I have hard to manage, and you want me to go ’play’ with a Lu Group subsidiary?

Are you sure you’re not trying to get back at me?"

Yun Zijin was completely bewildered, looking at Lu Yunque with an expression of disbelief.

"You never used to go to work, and then you suddenly attended a meeting. I thought you’d developed an interest in managing an entertainment company. Since that’s not the case, then just forget it if you don’t want to."

Lu Yunque had thought Yun Zijin had finally decided to get a job, but it turned out to be a misunderstanding.

"Of course not. Why would I go looking for trouble? The only reason I attended that meeting is that I happen to be a shareholder in Yuepin Media."

"Oh, so that’s why. But about Yuepin Media... I heard its stock has been a bit turbulent lately. Everything’s okay, right?"

"It’s fine. Just a minor issue."

Yun Zijin had acquired the Yuepin Media stock purely by accident. If it weren’t for the System, she never would have paid any attention to the entertainment industry.

There were unwritten rules in the entertainment industry; if the person involved didn’t elaborate, others knew not to press the issue.

Hearing Yun Zijin say so, Lu Yunque felt relieved.

"By the way, Gao Mi’s show has started filming. You’re an investor—want to go visit the set when you have time?"

She had only invested twenty million, which wasn’t a huge amount, but she had contributed money nonetheless.

Hearing this, Lu Yunque had to think for a moment before he finally remembered that he had indeed followed Yun Zijin’s lead and invested in a production.

But since the entire production’s budget was less than a hundred million, Lu Yunque hadn’t paid any attention to it afterward.

Now that Yun Zijin had suddenly brought it up, he’d almost forgotten about it entirely.

But now that he remembered, Lu Yunque couldn’t for the life of him figure out what would be worthy of a set visit on such a small project.

But since Yun Zijin had suggested it, it wouldn’t be right for him to refuse outright.

"I’d almost forgotten about that. As for visiting the set... things have been a bit busy with projects at the Lu Group lately, so I probably can’t make the time."

If Yun Zijin hadn’t invested, a small project like this would never have even reached his desk; the Lu Group’s entertainment subsidiary would have handled it entirely.

"It’s okay. If you’re busy with work, don’t worry about it. It was just a casual suggestion."
