Chapter 338: Sent by Xia Jiajiao

"Of course. I’ll go inside and take your friend’s measurements now."

Lillian gave Yun Zijin an affirmative reply and headed toward the walk-in closet Yun Zijin had pointed out.

As Lillian entered, Qin Sitong was just stepping out of the fitting room inside the walk-in closet.

Seeing Lillian, she subconsciously took a step back.

"Tongtong, this is Lillian. She’s here to take your measurements. She’ll also take the gowns back to be altered. We should be able to get them back before Friday, and you’ll have to come over again to try them on."

Trying on gowns was a hassle, and it certainly wasn’t possible in her dorm room, so she had to have Qin Sitong come over to her place.

"Ah, I was wondering who that was. You nearly scared me to death."

Suddenly seeing a stranger in a private place like a walk-in closet, Qin Sitong had already planned out how she would fight back. She never expected the person to be a friendly.

"My apologies for startling you. To take your measurements, you’ll need to remove your outerwear. Would you like to do it in the fitting room?"

Lillian was white, but she had lived in Hua Country for a long time and knew that Hua Country people were generally uncomfortable changing clothes in front of others, which was why she suggested using the fitting room.

"Oh, right! Let’s do it in here, then."

Remembering what the measurements required, Qin Sitong went back into the fitting room.

"Miss Yun, I have Miss Qin’s measurements."

The moment she stepped out of the fitting room, Lillian reported to Yun Zijin, eager for praise. "Which two gowns does Miss Qin need altered? I can take them back and have them done in less than three days."

Yun Zijin nodded. "Yes, we need them for Saturday. Don’t be late with the delivery."

To ensure Qin Sitong could wear her beautiful gowns on Saturday without a hitch, this was the second time Yun Zijin had stressed to Lillian that the dresses must be delivered on time.

Lillian, who had been a bit lax because the person she was serving, Qin Sitong, wasn’t one of the brand’s target clients, immediately straightened up her attitude.

"Yes, of course. Please don’t worry. I will personally supervise the tailors and make sure the gowns are altered and returned within your specified timeframe."

Seeing that Lillian had finally taken the deadline to heart, Yun Zijin gave her a look of approval.

In a hurry to get the gowns altered and returned, Lillian took them, packed them up, and quickly left.

Meanwhile, Yun Zijin finally received the file from Mei Lin detailing Ren Hui and Li Cui’s recent activities.

When she saw the photo of the two of them meeting with Xia Jiajiao in a coffee shop, Yun Zijin had a sudden thought: ’Just as I expected.’

"Isn’t that Xia Jiajiao? After everything that happened with her family background, how is she still out here making trouble?"

Qin Sitong truly couldn’t understand what Xia Jiajiao was thinking, being so dead set on opposing Yun Zijin.

"Who knows." It wasn’t just Qin Sitong; even Yun Zijin herself couldn’t figure it out.

She had almost forgotten a person like Xia Jiajiao even existed. She hadn’t expected her to pop up again, trying to make her presence known.

Without the Xia Family backing her, it would be child’s play for Yun Zijin to go after her.

’I wonder why she’s so determined to self-destruct.’

"So what are you going to do? You can’t just let her keep sending people to harass you. It’s impossible to guard against a persistent thief forever."

Qin Sitong frowned slightly. That Xia Jiajiao really was like a lingering ghost.

"I’ll go have a talk with her."

The file from Mei Lin also included some dirt on Xia Jiajiao. Yun Zijin was confident that with this leverage, Xia Jiajiao, who was desperate to maintain her perfect "goddess" persona, would be firmly under her control.

Now that she knew who had sent Ren Hui and Li Cui, Yun Zijin knew what to do.

Seeing that Yun Zijin had her own plan, Qin Sitong didn’t say anything more.

Lillian left with the gowns, and Qin Sitong also came out of the walk-in closet and left Yun Zijin’s room.

"Zijin, what are those two things? They can’t be real trees, can they?"

Qin Sitong pointed at two potted plants placed in opposite corners of the living room.

Planted in them were none other than the Ice Tree and Fire Tree that Yun Zijin had recently obtained, one in each pot.

Because Yun Zijin wanted to experiment and see if they could survive in pots, she had someone find two enormous planters, fill them with soil, and place them in the living room here at Jade Lake.

Yun Zijin had planted the Ice Tree and Fire Tree seeds in the two large planters respectively. To minimize their effect on each other, she had specifically instructed them to be placed in opposite corners, the furthest possible distance apart.

It was the first time Qin Sitong had ever seen trees like these. Her initial reaction was that they had to be fake.

"They’re real. I just got some new seeds recently."

Since Yun Zijin had already grown them, she had no intention of hiding them.

The world is full of strange and wonderful things. If she didn’t say, no one would be able to guess where she got the seeds from.

And those who wanted a Fire Tree or an Ice Tree would just turn a blind eye, even if they knew something was off.

Some things were better left unexamined.

"Oh my god! These are actually real trees?"

Hearing Yun Zijin confirm they were real, the shock on Qin Sitong’s face was impossible to hide.

Qin Sitong was mesmerized. She unconsciously drew closer to the Ice Tree, then ran over to the Fire Tree, clearly feeling the temperature difference between the two.

"Whoa! It feels cool standing next to this one, and this one’s warm! How is that even possible? This is unscientific!"

Qin Sitong approached the Ice Tree, wanting to touch its trunk, but Yun Zijin stopped her.

"It’s freezing. Be careful you don’t get frostbite."

"Ah! I’ll be careful then."

Hearing she could get frostbite, Qin Sitong pulled her hand back, but she couldn’t tear her eyes away.

"Can I take a picture and post it to my feed?"

Qin Sitong felt that if she posted this today, she would absolutely have the coolest post on everyone’s feed.

It was a plant she had never even heard of. It didn’t look like a species that could exist on Blue Star.

But there it was, growing right in front of her. Qin Sitong truly couldn’t find the words to describe how she felt.

"Maybe don’t post it for now. I’ll let you know when it’s okay."

So far, besides Qin Sitong, Yun Zijin had only told Lu Yunque about the Ice Tree and Fire Tree.

Oh, and Wang Minli.

However, Wang Minli only knew about the ones Yun Zijin planted at Xingyu Mansion; she didn’t know about the ones at Jade Lake.

"Okay, then I’ll just take a picture but won’t share it?"

It was impossible to make Qin Sitong give up on taking a picture, but as long as she just kept it in her phone’s photo album and didn’t upload it to social media, it would be fine.

Yun Zijin agreed. If she only took pictures and didn’t upload them, it wouldn’t cause any problems.

"Wow! If everyone could have one of these Ice Trees in the summer, you wouldn’t even need an air conditioner."

Moving away from the Fire Tree and standing next to the Ice Tree, Qin Sitong couldn’t help but marvel.

"If you want, I can get you a couple of seeds later.

An Ice Tree for the summer and a Fire Tree for the winter. Perfect!"

So far, Yun Zijin had only used four of the seeds she had. She still hadn’t given Lu Yunque the seeds she’d promised him.
