Chapter 251: Startling Divinity Blessed Land

Lin Yan’s attention eventually returned to the two Rank Seven Immortal Gu floating before him. The first was Startling Divinity Immortal Gu, the central Gu worm of the true inheritance. It resembled a dark and vicious mantis, with two bladed forelimbs folded tightly against its body. The second was Longing Immortal Gu, which Zheng Jingshen had obtained through an unexpected opportunity. It was small and round, resembling a crimson bean.

The two complete recipes in inheritance covering Rank Six through Rank Eight belonged to these two Immortal Gu. According to the three fundamental aspects of Wisdom Path, thoughts, wills, and emotions, Startling Divinity Immortal Gu belonged to emotion, while Longing Immortal Gu belonged to thought.

After putting away the two Immortal Gu, Lin Yan immediately began inspecting the resources of Startling Divinity Blessed Land. The true inheritance itself was extremely valuable, but the resources accumulated within a Rank Seven blessed land over countless years were equally valuable.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in Green Ghost Desert, the Mo Family Gu Immortals had just fought their way through another soul beast tide. After repelling several Ancient Soul Beasts, they were about to continue their pursuit when the Rank Six Wisdom Path Gu Immortal holding the compass suddenly cried out, "Second Supreme Elder, Lin Yan’s location has disappeared!"

Mo Chou frowned. "Did he enter a blessed land? Try again."

The Wisdom Path Gu Immortal hurriedly activated the compass several more times, but its needle only spun faster with every attempt. Bang! The compass exploded in his hands, scattering fragments and the corpses of numerous mortal Gu across the ground.

"What happened?" Mo Chou demanded.

The Wisdom Path Gu Immortal stared at the shattered compass before answering, "There was no mistake. His defenses against Wisdom Path deductions have suddenly become several times stronger, and the previous method can no longer locate his location. If we want to find him again, those Wisdom Path Gu Immortals will have to perform another joint deduction."

Mo Chou’s expression darkened. Only a short time had passed, yet Lin Yan had already strengthened his defenses against Wisdom Path deductions to such an extent. After a long silence, he gritted his teeth and ordered, "Invite them again. Contact those forces and bring their Wisdom Path Gu Immortals back. I refuse to believe that four or five Wisdom Path Grandmasters, together with a Wisdom Path Immortal Gu House, cannot find a single Rank Six Gu Immortal!"

Even speaking those words made Mo Chou’s heart ache. The price of the first deduction had already exceeded the value of the ancient desolate plant that started this conflict. Asking those Gu Immortals to act again would cost even more—perhaps enough to purchase an entire large resource point. Yet the Mo Family could no longer retreat. One Rank Seven Gu Immortal had been killed, another captured alive, and several others defeated. The Thousand Wishes Tree had long since ceased to matter. If they abandoned the pursuit now, they would lose everything already invested and become a laughingstock among Western Desert’s super forces.

Lin Yan knew nothing about the Mo Family’s current troubles, and even if he did, he would not have cared. They had brought everything upon themselves. For the sake of an ancient desolate plant, they had used the power of a super force to hunt a lone Rank Six Gu Immortal, only to kick an iron plate and suffer one defeat after another.

With the Startling Divinity land spirit leading the way, Lin Yan began touring his newly acquired blessed land.

Startling Divinity Blessed Land covered nearly Forty thousand square kilometres, making it roughly three times larger than Flame Sovereign Blessed Land. Such a vast territory was worthy of a peak Rank Seven Gu Immortal who had survived two Grand Tribulations. Judging by its size alone, Zheng Jingshen had most likely possessed a large grade blessed land when he first underwent Immortal Ascension.

The higher a Gu Immortal climbed, the more terrifying their years of accumulation became. Every calamity added dao marks, every breakthrough deepened their methods, and every year gave them more time to gather Immortal Gu, perfect killer moves, and develop their immortal aperture. These advantages continued building upon one another until the difference between ranks became nearly impossible to overcome.

Lin Yan understood this better than most. He possessed numerous Immortal Gu, several true inheritances, an immemorial desolate beast, and methods far beyond those of an ordinary Rank Six Gu Immortal. Even so, he still needed to advance to Rank Seven and raise the attainment of several paths before he could truly contend with a Rank Eight Gu Immortal.

Startling Divinity Blessed Land soon unfolded before him beneath an endless blue sky. White clouds drifted lazily overhead, casting enormous shadows across the land. A vast prairie stretched throughout the south, while a cool desert covered the north. Between them lay rivers, lakes, hills, and scattered oases, forming a landscape unique to Western Desert.

Hundreds of mortal resource points were spread across the two regions. Vast beast herds roamed the prairie, shaking the earth beneath their hooves, while strange insects and desert beasts moved beneath the northern sands. Vegetation grew thickly around every water source, and countless Gu worms lived among the forests, grasslands, and rocky valleys.
