Return of the Mythic Bloodline

Chapter 642: Gumiho’s condition

  • Next Chapter

A ripple of shocked gasps escaped from the room, as both humans and beasts widened their eyes in shock.

Jae Hyun’s grip tightened around the armrest, a mixture of worry and nervousness gripping him. If Gumiho were to become the wife of a dragon, she would hold absolute command over the Western Continent. No one would dare challenge her authority. She wouldn’t even need to treat humans as equals, causing them to eventually become beasts’ slaves.

Mriga and Riksharaja seemed equally concerned. Although this marriage offer from a dragon, the race that ruled Vyoman, would bring immense opportunities to the beasts, if Gumiho were to reject him, it might become the very reason for the annihilation of the beasts.

Now, all the expectant eyes were fixed on Gumiho, who slowly blinked as if mildly surprised by such a condition.

Gumiho only knew that marrying someone meant becoming lifelong partners who would complete each other, something she still didn’t quite understand. Giving up such priceless treasures just to become her partner seemed utterly foolish to her unless... Felix had some ulterior motive, or there was some deeper meaning to marriage.

"As you said, the Divine Artifacts are priceless, and so is the Lingtian Mountains," Gumiho said in a calm tone. "Then why would you give it all away just to marry me?"

A deep frown appeared on the faces of the elders from the Floraisan Clan. How dare she not already be on her knees accepting such graciousness from the Young Master? Not to mention, she dared to ask for a reason behind it.

Felix remained calm, still kneeling, still giving her a friendly smile in an attempt to enchant her. He was considered one of the most handsome men in Vyoman, after all.

Only one person came close to matching his facial features, but that man had no desire to use his face card at all, not to mention he was a complete psycho. All that potential wasted.

Felix removed the thought of that psycho from his mind, as it would only spoil his mood, and explained, "You are the Goddess of All Beasts, the only person who could match a dragon’s might. Becoming your partner is far more valuable than the Divine Artifacts, Lady Gumiho. With my Dual Cultivation techniques from the Floraisan Clan, we can both greatly benefit from this marriage."

He extended his palm towards Gumiho, petals of crimson roses materializing around his palm and flowing towards her.

Gumiho raised an eyebrow. ’Crimson Roses of the Heavenly Class, Flower Attribute.’

Felix also possessed the Flower Element, only one Class inferior to Gumiho’s Sovereign Class Plum Blossoms.

’I remember Mother mentioning Dual Cultivation once during a lecture,’ Gumiho thought inwardly. ’She didn’t tell me the details, but it was something that partners with similar synergy would do together to rapidly enhance their cultivation bases. Their powers would grow simultaneously, helping each other during the process.’

Now, Gumiho had a vague idea why Felix wanted to marry her. Since she possessed a Sovereign Class elemental affinity, this Dual Cultivation might be able to boost Felix’s cultivation.

It was not a complete loss for her either. She would be able to learn the techniques of the dragons that set them apart from the rest of the world’s creatures. Not to mention, this simple act of marriage would allow her to create peace between humans and beasts, fulfilling her father’s long-desired wish.

She closed her eyes as if making the decision. When she opened her eyes, she stated, "I have one condition."

’She is really a feisty one,’ Felix laughed inwardly. ’I can’t wait to break that pride of hers and make her beg to serve me.’

"Please say it," Felix replied, not letting any of his thoughts show on his face.

"I will stay at Lingtian Mountain," Gumiho stated her condition.

By this time, the elders of the Floraisan Clan were barely keeping themselves under control. This lowly beast had disrespected their Young Master several times now. If not for Felix’s unusual kinks, they would have already snapped Gumiho’s neck by now.

"Of course, we will stay wherever you desire," Felix’s response came in an instant.

The moment he said those words, several cracks spread across the armrest that Vincent was gripping.

’Lord Felix! Don’t get ahead of yourself,’ Vincent muttered inside Felix’s head with the Distant Whispering Technique. ’Lingtian Mountains was never part of the deal. It belongs to me.’

’Don’t worry, Lord Vincent,’ Felix replied back. ’I only intend to use Lingtian Mountains until I enjoy myself with this Gumiho. Once I’m done with her, I will leave the Lingtian Mountains. Then you may slaughter all the beasts and humans residing there. Also... I will give you five percent more blood of Almighty Sovereign for this hassle.’

Vincent couldn’t oppose him anymore. If he were to remain inflexible about temporarily letting Felix stay at the mountains, the latter might reveal its location to other dragons as well.

"In that case, I have no reason to decline this marriage, Dragon Lord," Gumiho agreed to the marriage.

’We’re doomed,’ Jae Hyun muttered inwardly, squirming in his position.

’We are saved,’ Mriga sighed inwardly in relief. These dragons weren’t anything like their ancestors had claimed. They seemed reasonable and kind, unlike the records suggested.

Perhaps there was a misunderstanding between the beast ancestors and dragons?

Felix’s hand was still extended towards Gumiho, waiting to be held by her, but she simply remained still in her position, wondering why he needed to say all this while kneeling and why he wasn’t getting up.

"Ahem..." Felix awkwardly withdrew his hand and rose to a standing position.

Now that Gumiho had agreed to marry Felix, he wanted to show Vincent exactly what he had lost in exchange for Sovereign’s blood.

"Lady Gumiho, since we will soon be married, don’t you think it’s rather rude to keep your face hidden from your partner?" Felix stated in a calm tone, the corner of his lips slightly raised. "Could you remove your veil?"
