Chapter 739: Chapter 738: The One I’ve Always Loved Is Him

’Why is he here?’

Hearing the commotion, Aaron Wyatt turned his head just in time to see Leona Grant storming toward him.

He showed no signs of panic, watching Leona Grant with a calm, detached expression.

THUMP!

Leona Grant slammed a fist into his face. The blow was so vicious that blood immediately trickled from the corner of Aaron Wyatt’s mouth.

Annabelle Linton’s eyes flew wide at the sight!

She scrambled off the bed to check on Aaron Wyatt.

Leona Grant let out a cold sneer. He appeared haughty and superior, but inside, he was so furious he was speechless!

’So your heart aches when you see Aaron Wyatt get hurt, is that it? You’re upset that I hit him, huh?’

’Hah, Annabelle Linton, you’ve really gone too far!’

He grabbed Aaron Wyatt by the collar, ready to throw another punch.

Aaron Wyatt, furious himself, fought back, and the two men descended into a brawl.

Each blow was more vicious than the last.

By the time they were done, both men were battered and bruised.

"Stop! Both of you, stop fighting! Stop it right now!" Annabelle Linton screamed.

But they paid her no mind. Just as Leona Grant’s fist was about to connect with Aaron Wyatt’s face, Annabelle acted before she could think and shoved Leona away.

Leona Grant’s eyes filled with disappointment as he looked at her. Wiping the blood from his mouth, he sneered, "Annabelle Linton, he’s the reason you’re so insistent on divorcing me, right?"

"You agreed to get back together with me... was that all part of a plan you two cooked up? If it weren’t for your brother, you two would’ve been married long ago, and I was just the one who tore you apart."

"And now that he’s back, it’s time to put your plan into motion, which means you need to divorce me. Is that it?"

"I’ve kept you from going out these last few days, restricted your every move so you couldn’t possibly see him. But the second I get sick, you two waste no time getting cozy..."

His gaze dropped to the bathrobe she was wearing. "What have you two been doing? Hmm?"

Annabelle Linton stared back at him, her own expression full of disappointment. The words ’Is that really what you think of me?’ were on the tip of her tongue, but she couldn’t bring herself to say them.

’You’ve both been poisoned.’

’Annabelle Linton, haven’t you been looking for an excuse to leave him?’

’Here’s the perfect opportunity, right in front of you. Don’t waste it.’

’You have things you need to do. You should leave him this instant and go find the antidote, not waste time here.’

’This really is a good opportunity. If I die, Leona Grant probably won’t die with me. If he finds the antidote, he won’t have to worry about me either.’

’Darling, I swear I’ll find the antidote for you. Please, stay alive. I love you.’

Annabelle Linton lifted her gaze to meet his, her expression a mask of indifference. "As expected of the great Leona Grant," she said nonchalantly. "You’re smarter than everyone else, aren’t you? Since you’ve already seen through it all, I won’t bother hiding it anymore..."

Leona Grant felt as if he’d been stabbed.

Annabelle Linton looked at him and stated calmly, "The one I’ve always loved is him. You, Leona Grant, were the one who tore us apart. Now that Ryan is abroad, I don’t see any other obstacles that could possibly keep us apart. So let’s get a divorce. If you love me, then let me go. Letting someone be happy is its own kind of happiness, too."

Leona Grant stared at her, stunned into silence.

’So it was all true... just like I thought...’

’So Annabelle Linton really felt nothing for me. It was all just an act...’

The ridiculous thing was, he still couldn’t bring himself to believe it.

"I don’t believe it."

The words hung in the uncanny silence of the room. It had taken Leona Grant a long moment to find his voice, his eyes fixed on Annabelle Linton.
