Chapter 483: Warden’s Capability
Chapter 483: Warden’s Capability
After being forced into a direct confrontation, Iceheart now lived up to her motto and behavior. She was isolated, without any possible assistance.
Despite the seemingly grim situation, Iceheart was excited rather than worried or nervous about it.
What better way was there to improve aside from soloing an Elite Enemy?
"Hmph, this is just fine anyway." Iceheart assumed her battle stance and locked eyes with the EGW.
Similarly, the EGW's right stone arm changed into a large sword that resembled a Claymore.
It swung their newly formed Claymore back and forth, almost as if it was testing the weight and balance of the weapon. Each swing whistled through the air, carrying an ominous power.
Iceheart, who was standing a short distance away, narrowed her eyes in disbelief.
For a moment, she could only watch as the towering creature wielded the enormous sword with surprising agility. The realization that the Warden was adapting its weapon to the battlefield sank in, and she exhaled sharply, a faint mist of cold air rising from her lips.
Her grip on her own claymore tightened, and after a brief pause, she nodded, acknowledging the challenge before her.
"A berserker showdown huh. I'm not one to back down from a challenge."
A few seconds later, the Warden raised its stone sword and dashed toward Iceheart, who similarly followed suit, clashing head-on.
Upon collision, Iceheart felt her hands turning slightly numb from the clash.
Amidst her struggle to hold her ground, she suddenly heard a snicker from the Warden.
Stupefied, Iceheart glanced at the enemy, only to notice they were grinning menacingly.
'He's grinning?' Iceheart didn't understand the meaning of their grin. However, she had a bad premonition that she had fallen into their traps.
And her bad premonition would soon come into reality as the Warden stomped on the ground heavily, causing tremors all across.
In response, Iceheart quickly tried to hold her ground and prevent an imbalance.
What she failed to notice, however, were the stone walls that had been conjured earlier, now inching closer with a deliberate, ominous crawl.
Trapped in a tightening circle, her mobility was cut off, leaving her with little room to maneuver.
By the time Iceheart sensed something amiss, the walls had already closed in.
"Crap, it's trying to crush me." She barely had a moment to react when the Warden, with its overwhelming strength, pushed forward.
Its stone claymore crashed into her own blade with relentless force.
The sheer power behind the Warden's swing was far too much.
Iceheart was thrown backward, skidding across the ground as the impact reverberated through her body.
Her claymore, though still in hand, was in dire shape—its durability had plummeted into the negative. Cracks webbed across the blade, and with one final glance, Iceheart realized her weapon had been pushed to the brink of destruction.
Panting heavily, she forced herself to her feet, her mind racing. "Damn it... it's got me figured out."
It was at this moment that she finally realized why Xu Feng continuously emphasized the enemies they were facing this time were at a different level than they had faced.
Her weapon might not be the best, but it was still durable enough to last many fights.
Yet it was almost turned to scrap after one overwhelming power exerted by the Warden.
As her back could now physically touch the enclosing stone walls, Iceheart thought she was going to be squashed to death by the Warden.
Yet to her dismay, she saw the Warden's stone Claymore returning to normal and turned around, seemingly ignoring her.
'What? Are they trying to insult me further by showing such disdain?' Iceheart's mind was filled with confusion by the Warden's blatant disrespectful action.

Not only did they stop continuing their attack, but they also turned their back to her, almost as if it were saying she wasn't even worth their attention.
In a disgruntled tone, Iceheart hissed coldly and tightened her grip on the cracked Claymore sword.
"To hell with you!" she roared, adrenaline surging through her veins as she charged forward, aiming to deliver one final, devastating blow. The Warden's mocking grin only fueled her rage as she zeroed in on her target, her sword poised to strike.
However, just as she was about to swing, a thick stone wall materialized in front of her, blocking her path entirely. The sudden appearance of the obstacle ignited her fury even more.
"Out of my way!" Iceheart gnashed her teeth and growled furiously.
Without hesitation, she swung her Claymore sword with all the force she could muster, intending to shatter the wall into rubble. The blade collided with the stone in a resounding crash, sparks flying as her sword bit into the surface.
For a moment, she thought she had succeeded. But as the dust settled, Iceheart's heart sank. The wall stood firm, only slightly chipped from her strike. The impact had done little more than scratch the surface.
Exhausted and no longer having any mana left, Iceheart panted heavily in disbelief at how her strike had failed to deal any damage.
She was still perfectly fine when soloing the Cursed Gargoyles just a while ago, but now, she was struggling to take down puny stone walls. Amidst her disbelief, Iceheart noticed the stone walls slowly closing in.
The walls seemed to be teasing her that her death was inevitable, but she must watch and wait patiently before it could crush her entire body into a pile of mush.
Unable to muster up any resistance to the impending doom, rather than panicking, Iceheart took a seat on the ground and accepted the result. There was nothing else she could do aside from waiting for death or her teammates to come to the rescue.
Though she heavily doubted that they had the time to worry about her when they had their hands full already.
Having believed that, Iceheart finally took a moment to check on her status screen. Apparently, there was still one buff icon left on her status screen.
Upon inspecting it, she realized it was a buff from Xu Feng, and it was regarding increased defense, which had expired right at this moment.
"Hah… so I survived because of his buff." Iceheart covered her face with her palms.
