Chapter 1102: Top First-Rate Guild
Chapter 1102: Top First-Rate Guild
Shortly after reminiscing about the old past and how she became interested in Cool Wind, she couldn’t help but become disappointed.
"It’s all CarnageBound’s fault for acting alone." Evelyn narrowed her eyes and hissed coldly. She still vividly recalled back when she raised her hand to return to the plane that Vanguard Guild operated on in hopes of initiating contact with them.
Who could have imagined that the plan back then was actually to attack the Vanguard Guild?
What made it more frustrating was the fact that CarnageBound actually killed their Guild Commander!
Back when she finally met and encountered Cool Wind at the outskirts of Dawnshire City, she nearly yelped in joy. But she had to keep her composure, lest she might actually frighten him away.
But it was because of that ridiculous mindset of hers that resulted in her being killed by him before having a chance to actually speak her mind.
SLAM!
Evelyn suddenly slammed her palm on the desk and wondered if she should have sent CarnageBound to the higher-ups.
So many opportunities were there, but because of him and many circumstances, she missed out on them. Now, it was even harder to check where Cool Wind had gone.
Luckily, there was still the Guild Leader Lin Feng available for her to make contact. By selling out lots of valuable intel from the Malefic Order Guild to him, she effectively gained access to talk with Cool Wind.
While she was getting excited and feeling things were finally going her way, a message notification sound resounded.
Almost immediately, her eyes darted to the message. "Hehe, he replied already."
Cool Wind: Thanks for your action. You don’t need to worry about losing out on resources. Our guild will secretly transfer them over to you in the promised location at a time you’re free.
Reading the message, Evelyn’s expression was filled with warmth and delight.
"It’s the first time he sent such a long response." She was giddy and wondered what to type in response.
Her fingers danced around the holographic keyboard, but after a while, she pressed hard on the backspace key.
’Ugh, I can’t sound too clingy or cringy. I need to take things slowly.’ She pursed her lips and pondered what the proper response was.
10 minutes later, she was still scratching her head, thinking about what to send in reply.
In the end, Evelyn gave up and decided to wait till her schedule was freed.
While Evelyn eagerly hoped for that day, elsewhere, many guilds were rendered speechless by the escalating situation.
"The Miracle Pavilion actually suffered such a major defeat?"
"Crap, what about the orders we placed earlier? Do they even have enough supplies to craft the items we commissioned?"
"What an Eclipse Nova... disappeared for so long, and the moment he made his appearance, he brought out a warship. Are we even on the same playing field?"
No one knew when this thought had come up, but many had already referred to and identified the Vanguard Guild as a top first-rated guild.
The only thing stopping them from becoming a Super Guild was their real-world influence, clear financial status, and large amount of manpower.
Just the feat of being able to cause this much damage to the Miracle Pavilion was worthy of praise.
However, those in the know understood that this was merely the curtain of the beginning.
While it remained a fact that the Vanguard Guild had taken the victory in this aspect, now it was time for them to defend in the upcoming siege.
Given the fact that many were informed that the guild possessed a warship, it enticed many more to rally together to take over their town.
After all, they could no longer ignore the major possibility of them dominating the Divine World.
...
Skyland City
After hitting multiple ships, Xu Feng and the rest of the Vanguard Guild elites arrived at Skyland City.
They didn’t teleport directly to the city. Instead, they took a long detour and walked to Skyland City, a territory of the Colossus. Skyland City was initially the base for MIST, which acted as the Overlord until they were overthrown by the Vanguard Guild.
However, after the overthrow, the Vanguard Guild auctioned off the Overlord status to others, and the winner of the auction thought they were on track to rise.
It was just a shame that the main event happened, and the Colossus happily took over the city free of charge, causing the one who won to suffer miserably. Not to mention, their greed to ensure that the Vanguard Guild can no longer interfere with their city in a contract also caused them to have no outlet to cry foul.
The moment the Colossus took over, they became a laughingstock and were forced to migrate to another plane to avoid being shamed daily.
"Why did we come here, Boss? The atmosphere is very oppressive." Veronica whispered softly to Xu Feng. She could sense many unfriendly gazes being placed upon her and the rest of the members.
The city barely had any NPC humans and was practically overflowing with monsters, intelligent monster species. It was a bona fide monster city.
"Doing business with the Colossuses." Xu Feng flatly responded.
"Business with them?" Veronica nearly had an outburst but managed to suppress her tone and shock. After all, they were surrounded by many monsters at the moment.
They might not be hostile at the moment, but any sudden movement or funny actions from them could easily cause them to be ambushed.
"I’ve told you before. I’m going to cut off the path of wealth and influence for the Miracle Pavilion. And this is precisely what I’m doing." Xu Feng chuckled amusingly.
Behind him were a group of elites who were carrying boxes taken from the cargo ship. Although they could simply place them in their inventory, Xu Feng had specifically ordered them to carry the boxes out in the open.
He wanted the monsters to see them carrying the boxes publicly and to attract attention.
’Open your eyes and feast yourself on the Miracle Pavilion emblem.’ He grinned sinisterly.
