Chapter 1781: Fighting Against The Whole Ant Nest
Chapter 1781: Fighting Against The Whole Ant Nest
—–
Aquarina and her companions heard the rumbling of approaching ants. The colony had quickly noticed that many of their kind were missing, prompting an urgent response to whatever was happening at the entrance. Giant ants rushed forward, crawling along the walls and ceiling, while flying ants joined them. Not every ant was capable of flying, it seemed.
The flying ants were soldiers, while the walking ants were workers. Despite this, both were immensely powerful, giant insects capable of burning an entire village or trampling everything in their path. Thousands united would undoubtedly be a hellish force for anyone below Tier 7.
Thus, despite being overwhelmed by Aquarina and her party, these creatures, in such a massive group, could be deemed a “calamity”—a horde of monsters often mistaken for a natural disaster, capable of wiping out an entire country if left unchecked.
This threat was a key reason other nations strengthened their forces, trained their soldiers and warriors, and studied magic and defensive infrastructure to better protect their territories.
Villages in remote areas like this, isolated in the middle of nowhere, were especially vulnerable to being trampled and destroyed by monster waves, natural disasters, or calamities that could devastate everything in mere hours.
Fully aware of the danger facing the Oasis and its people, Nepheline and Shade leapt into battle alongside their daughter and her friends, confronting the ants with all their might.
After defeating a large number of them, it was time to enter the nest and eradicate the threat at its source.
Aquarina and Agua prepared, with Pyuku close behind. Meanwhile, the rest of their group unleashed their Beast Auras, ready to face an army of hundreds of thousands of ants.
The plan was straightforward: greet the ants with a devastating water and ice spell to destabilize and, ideally, paralyze them by freezing.
As the ants’ formations broke under the shock, the group would charge forward and eliminate as many as possible.
The strategy also involved flooding or freezing half the nest. Lowering the temperature would weaken the ants, who relied on intense heat to move effectively and maintain peak energy and strength.
When cooled, they became sluggish and, as Aquarina called them, “stupid.” In this state, their body heat dropped so drastically that they could barely move, left in a confused daze.
Of course, their powerful hearts, internal organs, and fire-attribute mana cores could eventually reheat them, but that would take several minutes!
“Aquarina, what spell do we use?!” Agua asked.
“We’ll create a new one. Just keep combining Runes!” Aquarina said. “Pyuku, pour as much Mana as you can into the Runes, and add yours too!”
“I’ll add my Psychic Power as well,” Pyuku nodded, extending his small hands forward.
FLAAASH!
Their azure auras intensified, brimming with vast amounts of water and ice attribute spiritual energies and elemental mana.
Above the trio floated four powerful water spirits: Aquarina’s Undine, Leviathan, and Drakon, and Agua’s Shelly.
Drakon was a recent addition, and Shelly was still developing as a spirit, but both possessed significant elemental energy and spiritual power.
Drakon, a powerful water wyrm egg transformed into a pseudo-spiritual being, and Shelly, an artificial spirit created through alchemy during the process that granted Agua her powerful Physique, were formidable allies.
Their energies converged, forming four spheres of azure light that spun together as a massive magic circle took shape through the combined efforts of Agua, Aquarina, and Pyuku.
“T-That’s the largest magic circle I’ve ever seen!” Silvia gasped, donning mechanical armor to prepare for battle.
“Yeah, I know!” Justicio nodded. “This is insane! Can they even keep such a spell stable? If that massive thing fails, the backlash could kill them!”
Backlash from conjuring spells was rare, as mages typically avoided casting spells beyond their tier.
However, those reckless enough to try often suffered severe consequences. A collapsing magic circle could shatter, its runes exploding, and the backlash might injure the caster or destroy their Internal Magic Circle, permanently crippling their ability to cultivate magic.
Nevertheless, Aquarina and Agua were not like others. These two girls were built differently, and they were about to prove it.
“SHYAAAGGH!”
The roars of the approaching ants echoed within the volcanic nest as their claws and jaws emerged from the cliffs several meters away.
A colossal army surged toward them, covering walls, ceiling, and sky—an endless catastrophe, a destructive calamity unlike anything the desert or the Oasis had ever faced.
“Nnnggh…! We need a bit more. We’re almost there!” Aquarina groaned, gritting her teeth. “Agua, keep pushing! Pyuku!”
“Uugh! I’m already doing my best!” Pyuku cried, his body visibly straining from the exhaustion.
“A-Aaah…! Please, please, Great Oasis Spirit, help us! Help us save the Oasis! Please! Please!” Agua prayed to her guardian, her spiritual powers waning as she gave everything she had.
But it seemed insufficient…
“Dammit, we’re not going to make it!”
Khepri glared at the scene, frustration mounting. If only the Great Oasis Spirit would help, everything would be much easier!
“Why… Just why did you run away from everything?! Why won’t you help your own people?! How hypocritical can you be?!”
As Khepri prepared to fight the ants, her eyes blazing with anger…
“TETHYS!!!”
Her scream reverberated through the nest, startling everyone and echoing into the Oasis itself…
RUMBLE!
The ants, mere seconds from reaching them, drew closer…
The magic circle grew unstable…
They weren’t going to make it!
“Shit, shit, shit…!”
As Aquarina gritted her teeth in desperation, everything seemed on the verge of collapse.
“I hear you, Khepri… I don’t care about my past, but I will protect my home.”
FLUOSH!
Out of nowhere, Aquarina and Agua’s combined Aura transformed as the Great Spirit of the Oasis appeared.
Her unparalleled beauty and splendor shone, her bright eyes gleaming as she extended her hands, her flowing water-like hair swirling around them Aquarina, Agua, and Pyuku.
“W-Wha…?!” Aquarina’s eyes widened in disbelief. “She’s here?!”
“Great Spirit!” Agua cried happily. “You heard my prayers!”
“Concentrate, young ones! We only have one shot at this! Now!” The Great Oasis Spirit roared. “I will put everything I have into this! I will protect my Oasis and my people!”
Tethys, with newfound resolve, unleashed her destructive magic in one mighty burst!
“{Divine Spiritual Oceans Magic}: {Turbulent Primordial Seas}!”
TRUUUMMM!!!
