Chapter 242 - 2.119 An Exercise in Patience

Everyone was starting to get impatient. Another two months went by without any sign or word from Hades. Athena told Sora and Brie he was simply still using the creations to take over planets but even that stopped a month ago. Everyone would love to say they were bored, but with little ones everywhere, things were just as chaotic as ever.

Scarlet was in a phase where she’d change between forms so rapidly it was giving Ignis and Leila headaches. She wanted fire, then didn’t want fire, then wanted regular food, then didn’t want regular food. Thankfully, Sora’s twins were easy and Iris was still a baby.

Eris’ triplets were growing at a rapid pace and thankfully Eris was able to manipulate their magic so they wouldn’t send metal flying everywhere. That’s what happened over the first few months. Metal. Everywhere.

Sasha and Levi stayed away from the chaos just so Sasha could rest. Levi was adjusting to becoming a vampire and didn’t need all the gods, goddesses, humans, etc around. Especially his brother. That was the person he was most worried he’d bite. The connection, the taste of Uthra blood. He was consistently getting blood bags so he was well nourished, but the calm before the storm was driving everyone mad.

"I wish the fucker would just show up already so I could bash him into another Universe," Bishop said with a grin while watching the twins.

"Uncle Bishop is strong!" Emma and Emery laughed.

"Yeah... but this peace is nice. It’s seriously very strange. What the hell could he be doing?" Sora asked, confused, for once.

"I don’t even know." Jubelle admitted. "I usually have an answer for everything but my best guess is he’s planning a mass scale attack, probably around the time Sasha’s little one is born. Although that doesn’t make any sense either because if he was going to attack, he should have come when Eris was weak. None of this makes any sense!"

"Nope, it sure does not." Connor said while petting Koda. "Sasha’s baby comes in four months. Maybe he’s just trying to instill fear in all of us by making us wait around?"

"That HAS to be it." Brie said while tapping her foot. "If Xander and Diana haven’t seen anything, I say we just keep training, keep dungeon clearing and make sure we’re ready across all fronts. Julius and Rissa are doing a good job in the demon realm, and all the other races are ready. It’s just a waiting game."

"We have alerts set up as soon as ANYTHING opens a portal or teleports on this planet. Granted, they could be lurking around this planet unseen for all we know right now. But Sora has already used his eye ability enough to try and find them by stopping time. When it happens, we’ll be ready." Celeste said confidently.

"Our plan seems to be working," Lord X smirked.

"I know! It’s exciting to just sit here and make them lose their minds. You can see it on the poor demon and succubus’ faces. When are they going to come, what are they going to do?" Hades laughed.

"Seriously though, you do have a solid plan right?" the masked god laughed, joking.

"I’m beginning to enjoy your sense of humor more and more by the day. This is the last batch, right?" Hades asked gleefully while looking over the newest models.

"Yessir. Batch 20, just as you asked. I think with this batch, we can start sending them undetected, when you are ready."

"Ok, good, good. I do want to give them a practice round of this. I know Athena will notice a planet wipe, hopefully she panics and does something stupid!"

"Unlikely my love," Persephone said melodically. "If anything, you know your niece is very intelligent and one of the calmest people in any realm or Universe. Your brother chose her for a reason."

"I’m well aware, thank you dear." Hades said as politely as he could. If there was one person he didn’t like upsetting, it was his wife.

’Stupid fucking Zeus. All of this could have been avoided and I would have taken over all the Universe’s while he was asleep but nope, him and his goody-two-shoes daughter had to make sure gods and goddesses didn’t interfere. So fucking stupid. We have all this power, why not use it?’

Four more months... nothing. Athena noticed the planet that was taken over and that was cause for concern so she opened a portal to Xander, who seemed to be maturing quite well. She let him know and then met with Sora.

"He has an undetectable army. Just one of the batches. I’m not even sure how many, but they could be on your planet so be ready. Not saying you haven’t been because everyone has been on high alert. This must be draining for all of you. Just think of how it is in Paradise. One day is a year... we’ve been on high alert for 6 months. It’s been a lot, to say the least."

"We’re sorry your majesty. We never wanted anything like this to happen. Sasha should have her child any day now... that’s when I’m worried it will happen."

"So am I, that’s why I’ve hid her with the elves. You and Brie should head over there, she’s going to have him any day."

"Thanks Athena, we’ll do our best." Sora smiled.

"I know you will sweetheart. I didn’t entrust the fate of this planet to you for lack of confidence. We all believe you will come out on top!"

"Hey Brie, time to head to MeadowSong with the kids and Xander, you ready?"

"Yup! Sorry, everyone. Can’t miss my bestie’s baby. She has to stay safe."

Xander was already waiting for them at the entrance to MeadowSong with Diana.

"I forgot the password," He laughed.

"In a war torn land, we seek peace, from an Uthra and a vampire, a baby we meet."

"Heyo!" The chimera twins greeted them happily. "You missed the birth, might want to hurry."

"Wait, damnit! This time stuff." Brie muttered angrily before teleporting away.

"Sorry Sev, Jev. She’s just on edge. All of us are. We thought Hades would be here by now."

"Us too if we’re being honest. Even our Honorable King and Queen and the armies are ready to march out at any minute. She just gave birth about an hour ago, so, everything went smooth. Cute little pink eyed Uthra vampire. So strange to see Levi as a vampire, but he looks exactly the same. That’s what’s even more strange! How many weird classes of people did you think you’d create?"

"Zero," Sora laughed, to the rolling of the eyes of both chimera.

"He’s being honest." Diana said. "I’m an oracle, remember?"

"Ah, right! You would have seen it. Sorry Sora, it’s just funny is all!" Sev laughed.

"Alright, we’ll be on our way." Sora hugged them.

"Aw, he’s still the same Sora." They smiled.

That was what made Sora so special. Every person he met, he made sure to remember. No matter how "important" they were to the planet, the war, as an ability user or just a person, he cared.

"Oh my goodness Sasha he is the cutest!" Brie blushed with excitement. "Congratulations you two, I’m so happy for you!"

"Thanks! Everything went really smoothly. The elves are something, I tell you anything they come up with just magically works. It’s kind of unbelievable in a way."

"What’s the little guy’s name?" Diana asked as the five of them appeared. Emma and Emery ran overly excitedly and hugged Levi.

"Killian Lionel Steele. He’s a vampire with Uthra DNA. He has all of Sasha’s abilities, he already sucker punched me once and laughed by extending his arm. He’s pretty funny." Levi laughed.

"And you took it like a champ, you weren’t even upset in the slightest." Sasha smiled. "Sorry, I couldn’t really wait and he came early. You weren’t late or anything. I don’t even think it had anything to do with the time flow. He was just ready to hop on out of my womb."

"Are you two ok resting here until Hades comes or whatever or do you want to go back to the mansion?"

"We haven’t really thought or talked about it yet. We’ve also considered the settlement, Haven, but those seem like irresponsible places. There really isn’t a difference between here and the mansion other than he’d grow up faster here." Sasha shrugged while feeding him.

"Little guy is already sleeping huh?" Xander asked. "He’s gorgeous. Levi’s dark, dirty blonde hair and pink eyes, just like momma."

"Yeah, he’s huge, too. What’s up with all of us having these giant babies? Pushing him out wasn’t very fun," Sasha laughed. "Thank the gods for these elves!"

"She was perfectly fine, don’t let her fool you. Sasha’s pain tolerance is through the roof." Faye smiled.

"Seriously, behind Sora, I think she might be next... although Xander and Diana are pretty up there." Aegir smiled.

Sora’s phone rang.

"Please tell me everything’s ok?"

"Everything is perfectly peaceful. This is so fucking weird," Ignis said on the other line.
