Chapter 601: Chapter 461: Secret Exposed (3)

The Cross family was indeed like that. What Jude Seymour didn’t realize, however, was that Lex Cross hadn’t been the one to start the fight. Levi Seymour had tried to kill him and Flora Bloom, forcing Lex to respond with deadly force.

But what Lex Cross and Flora Bloom never expected was that the secret they had guarded for so long would finally be revealed that day.

There were eight Divine-level Space Fragments in total. Flora Bloom alone possessed five of the Crystal Stones. The other three belonged to the Earth Element, Wind Element, and Life System.

To this day, there was still no sign of those three.

The major families all knew it was impossible for one family to monopolize all the Crystal Stones. If a single family did and managed to create a genius with a Divine-level space, the power dynamic between all the great families would be completely upended.

No one wanted to let another family get the upper hand.

The most stable solution, therefore, was for the great families to divide the Crystal Stones evenly.

That would keep everyone’s ambitions in check.

After placating Jude Seymour and his group, Aaron Rook didn’t immediately return to the Argent base to rally the Rook family. Instead, he made his way toward the Morhaven base.

As he arrived outside the Morhaven base, the Soul Nourishing Jade belonging to Nina Rook, which he kept in his personal space, began to react.

A vicious glint flashed in Aaron Rook’s eyes, and he decided to enter the Morhaven base to investigate. If he could find the remnants of Nina Rook’s Soul Consciousness, he could also scout out the internal situation at the base.

The very moment Aaron Rook set foot inside the Morhaven base, Flora Bloom sensed his presence.

For the past three days, the side effects had tormented her, leaving her in a daze. Yet, once they disappeared, she found that her spiritual power had actually ascended to a new level, and she felt more refreshed and clear-headed than ever.

Most importantly, her personal space was now absorbing cosmic energy and converting it into Spiritual Energy much faster. Moreover, her Fire Element, Gold Element, and Plant System superpowers were all showing faint signs of an impending breakthrough.

If she broke through, she would be a true five-system superpower user, with all her abilities advanced to the Cosmic Level.

From there, all she would need was sufficient energy accumulation and mastery, and the War God Level would be within reach.

’Just what kind of being was the Tree of Life? It allowed me to temporarily ascend to the War God Level. Even though the side effects were agonizing, the benefits that came after were boundless.’

’Having experienced the power of the War God Level, I’ve become much more familiar with how to wield such immense energy.’

’I have a feeling that the War God Level I reached by borrowing the Tree of Life’s energy isn’t my ultimate form. If I can gather all the Divine-level Space Fragments, fuse them, and then ascend to War God Level, I’ll be absolutely invincible.’

But so much time had passed. She had constantly kept an eye out for news of the other three Crystal Stones on Earth, but to no avail. Gradually, Flora Bloom had adopted a mentality of leaving it all to fate.

Lex Cross had also recently emerged from his seclusion.

He had gained significant benefits from the recent battle. Not only had he absorbed the energy released from Levi Seymour’s personal space upon his death, which elevated his Devouring System and Dark Element superpowers to a new level, but he had also siphoned a great deal of advanced Devouring System energy—far superior to his own—from the wound the Cross family’s ancestor had inflicted on him. Now, he was showing faint signs of an impending breakthrough.

However, he was forcefully suppressing it.

The reason was the wound on his arm, left by the Cross family ancestor’s black sword. Even though he had absorbed a significant amount of energy from it, the injury still hadn’t healed.

The wound was still laced with the ancestor’s Devouring superpower, which was constantly working to widen the injury.

If not for the strength of his own superpower and the fact that their Devouring Systems shared the same origin, his physical body would have disintegrated long ago.

’If my body collapses, I’ll only have two options. One is to find another body to fuse with, but that process would be long and I wouldn’t be able to help Flora Bloom.’

’The other is to return to the Cross family’s ancestral land. There, I can reform my original body before coming back to Earth.’

’Only my original body could withstand the immense Soul Consciousness that comes with breaking through to the War God Level. This current body, with its existing wound, absolutely could not endure the pressure of a War God-level Divine Sense. It would be torn to shreds.’

Inside Villa No. 3, Flora Bloom’s brow was furrowed. ’The white-haired old man who appeared in the woods is also at the Cosmic Level. His power is impressive... I wonder where he’s from.’

She handed Polly over to Jade and asked her, Caleb, and Lisa to watch over the child.

Then, she found Lex Cross, and the two of them went to the woods to investigate the newcomer.

"Aaron Rook, the First Elder of the Rook family. What’s he doing here?" Lex Cross said, keeping himself and Flora Bloom concealed within his devouring power as they watched Aaron Rook search for something.

Following the Soul Nourishing Jade’s guidance, which pulsed stronger as he drew near, Aaron Rook finally located a ball of white light cowering inside a hollow of a golden parasol tree.

He retrieved the point of light and held it in his palm. "Nina, it’s me, Elder Aaron Rook."

The ball of white light flickered upon hearing his words, and when Aaron Rook presented the Soul Nourishing Jade, it immediately shot into the artifact.

Just as Aaron Rook was about to store the Soul Nourishing Jade in his personal space, a wisp of black devouring power suddenly wrapped around the jade. At the same moment, Lex Cross and Flora Bloom materialized in front of him.

"Elder Aaron Rook. Long time no see."
