Chapter 585: Chapter 456: A Big Ice Cube in the Belly (2)

"Yeah! That Irene Seymour is only a Second Level Nebula, but she took on five or six of our High-level Superpower Users without breaking a sweat! You can just imagine how powerful Jude Seymour must be!"

"Our base’s original leader is now just a pawn for the invaders! Just the scraps of Energy Gemstones that fell through the Seymour family’s fingers were enough for him to reach Nebula Level!" Six slammed his fist into the wall, cracking it. An Earth Ability User nearby quickly repaired it.

"When Irene Seymour first arrived, she captured a bunch of young, strong, and handsome men from the base. And that Robin—remember how disgusted and shameless he pretended to be? But what was the reality?

Who knows when he secretly hooked up with her! Backstabbing us like that! So shameless! Speaking of which, where’s that bastard Robin?! I’m gonna go settle the score with him!"

Melanie Lawson and the others exchanged a look, signaling for everyone to calm down. Lance Holland then spoke up.

"Robin is already dead! From now on, let’s just act like he never existed!"

"What? Dead? But he had the highest-level superpower on our team. How could he have died so easily?"

"Yeah, Captain, you don’t have to lie to us just because you’re afraid we’ll go looking for trouble with him! We were just talking. We wouldn’t cause any problems for you!"

"I’m not lying to you!"

"The captain’s telling the truth!"

"I killed him."

Lex Cross spoke in a quiet, indifferent tone and then fell silent again.

Lance Holland and the others vividly recounted how Lex Cross had killed Robin. Even though the whole thing was an instant kill that took less than a second, the way Six told it, he painted a grand picture that left everyone stunned.

"You guys have no idea how incredible Lex is! With a single bolt of lightning, he blasted Robin to smithereens! We could feel the oppressive force of his superpower even from the sidelines."

In fact, Six wasn’t exaggerating. Lex Cross was a Cosmic Level Superpower User. To him, anyone below the Cosmic Level was like a mighty dragon facing off against a swarm of shrimp.

No matter how many of them came at him, it would only take a single strike. They weren’t on the same level. The oppressive aura that came from such a massive power gap, combined with the explosive nature of the Thunder Element itself, was naturally enough to leave bystanders breathless.

Only then did the crowd finally turn their attention to the three people before them.

They were covered in mud and grime, their faces obscured. Two men and one woman, with the woman holding a little girl who looked to be about two years old.

"Captain, what... what happened to them?"

"Yeah, why don’t you all go get cleaned up?"

There were five Water Ability Users in the group, all of them High-level. One of them stepped forward, glanced at the newcomers, and smiled at Polly. "What an adorable child. How about I summon some water for you? You should all clean up a bit, at least so you’re not caked in all that grime! You three adults can handle it, but the child is so young. You don’t want her little face to get all chapped!"

Flora Bloom looked at the speaker, who was dressed in a thick cotton-padded jacket. Her face looked chilled, and she was subconsciously wringing her hands as she spoke, as if she felt cold.

"That’s alright, I’m a Water Element user myself. We just haven’t had time to clean up on the road. Thank you, though.

Are... are you okay? From the looks of it, are you sick?"

Flora Bloom could sense the surging Water Energy within the woman, yet there were no abnormal energy fluctuations in her body.

’A High-level Superpower User wouldn’t normally get sick, unless they were poisoned or injured by an even higher-level user.’

"I-I’m fine!" The woman gave a faint smile, her gaze flickering away for a moment before she concealed her unease. But who was Flora Bloom? Her freakishly strong spiritual power alone was enough to sense the faintest tremor in a person’s heart.

If she wanted to, she could perceive any change in any part of their body!

As Flora Bloom’s gaze swept over her, she froze. The fluctuations in the woman’s abdomen had a rhythm remarkably similar to her own from her early pregnancy.

Seeing Flora Bloom staring at her stomach, the woman immediately panicked. She suddenly grabbed Flora’s arm, her expression tense and worried as she tried her best to act natural.

"Captain, there are a lot of them. I’ll go help them get some water."

Lance Holland didn’t pay any mind to Lana’s odd behavior. As Flora Bloom and Lana started walking toward the bathrooms, he didn’t give it a second thought, his attention fixed on Lex Cross and Saul Sterling.

"Gentlemen, our place here may be simple, but it’s not easy to find shelter in Aethelgard City these days. If you don’t mind, you’re welcome to stay with us for the time being!"

"Hey, Lex! Saul! I say you should just join us! Our team might not be the strongest in the base, but we’re all real men here! We don’t bow down to that evil Seymour family!"
