Help?

Cecilia Sterling shook her head, her expression profound.

Because judging by the current situation, Mr. Holden couldn’t really help anyone.

He couldn’t satisfy Kylie Churchill’s demand and kick her out.

Nor could he afford to offend the Churchill Family.

So, on the principle of not making things difficult for others, Cecilia Sterling offered a playful smile and said, "Don’t worry, Mr. Holden. It’s just a little farce."

Mr. Holden didn’t understand, so he just curiously scanned everyone present.

The young people in The Sovereign Hall today all had impressive backgrounds. Even if he didn’t know them personally, he knew he couldn’t afford to offend them, so he just gave an awkward laugh.

The next second, Kylie Churchill asked Mr. Holden in a hostile tone, "Are you the person in charge here?"

Mr. Holden froze for a moment. Before he could nod, the supervisor who had just come to handle the situation leaned in and whispered, "Director Holden, this young lady is the daughter of the Churchill Group’s chairman."

Realization dawned on Director Holden, his eyes widening. He then greeted her respectfully, "Hello, Miss Churchill. I was just on the phone with your father."

Hearing this, Kylie Churchill immediately lifted her head arrogantly.

’Before I left, my father said he was going to call to confirm the final offer. He must have just been discussing it with him.’

"My father should be acquiring this place soon, right?" As she spoke, she continued to glare viciously at Cecilia Sterling.

’I’ll make this clueless, vulgar, shallow, and vain woman, who has nothing but a pretty face, understand just how thick the wall between our social classes is.’

’I’ll show her what a true aristocrat looks like!’

Just from her expression, Cecilia Sterling knew what kind of nonsense she was plotting and couldn’t help but let out a cold laugh.

She really couldn’t hold it in!

"Laughing? You don’t believe me?" Kylie Churchill demanded angrily, but then she too sneered. "Then again, with your level of understanding, you’ve probably only ever seen a scene like this on TV!"

"You! Tell her if it’s true!" Kylie Churchill ordered Mr. Holden.

Mr. Holden looked embarrassed. He glanced at Cecilia Sterling, and seeing no reaction from her, he said with an apologetic smile, "Miss Sterling, Miss Churchill probably doesn’t know what happened in the interim."

Kylie Churchill’s expression froze at his words. She asked doubtfully, "What do you mean by that?"

"Miss Churchill..."

Mr. Holden was about to explain, but he was interrupted when Cecilia Sterling took a step forward.

Everyone’s eyes snapped to Cecilia Sterling in unison. Cecilia, for her part, had had enough of the sideshow. It was time to set this fool straight.

"It means the scene you were fantasizing about isn’t going to happen." Cecilia Sterling raised a superficial smile, her tone flat. "Because I’ve already acquired Cirrus Palace. In full!"

"Do you know what it means to acquire a physical business of this size in a full buyout?"

"It means I had to put up this much cash all at once!"

"It means that unlike the Churchill Group, I don’t need to pay in installments via letters of credit. I don’t need to use equity retention to alleviate cash flow problems. And I certainly don’t need to drag things out for days on end just to haggle over a price."

Finished, Cecilia Sterling raised her eyebrows provocatively. "Can you understand that?"

Kylie Churchill, of course, did not understand.

But Shawn Lane did. His major abroad had been in finance.

"How is that possible..." Shawn Lane stared at Cecilia Sterling in disbelief, the emotion in his eyes transforming completely into that of looking at a stranger.

’I actually thought she was being kept by someone, and that was why her entire life had changed so drastically.’

’But who would spend this much money to keep someone? No matter how beautiful she is!’

"Why would it be impossible? Did you really think you knew me so well, Shawn Lane? You’re far too self-righteous!"

Kylie Churchill was still reeling from the shock, unable to recover. Refusing to give up, she looked at Mr. Holden. "It’s a lie, right? What she said is a lie, right? Wasn’t my dad just on the phone with you? My dad is the one acquiring this place, right?"

Mr. Holden could only state the truth apologetically. "Miss Churchill, what Miss Sterling said is true. We’ve already reached an acquisition agreement with Miss Sterling and are currently handling the final arrangements before the handover. Before long, this place will belong to Miss Sterling."

"As for your father, he was not satisfied with our asking price initially, so the negotiations never progressed. When he called today, I informed him of the situation immediately."

"Since the price Miss Sterling offered was far higher than Director Churchill’s expectations, he didn’t say much more and simply accepted the outcome."

’Accepted it?’

’But...’

’But I can’t accept it at all.’

’Just moments ago, I was so shameless, so imperious.’

’But in the end, everyone was just laughing at me.’

"You did this on purpose, didn’t you?" Kylie Churchill glared at Cecilia Sterling, still believing she was the cause of everything. "You clearly already acquired this place but didn’t say a word. You did it on purpose to watch me make a fool of myself, didn’t you!"

Cecilia Sterling smiled and nodded, but then reminded her, "You’re the one who came looking for trouble. It has nothing to do with me!"

Kylie Churchill instantly exploded. For the first time in her life, she abandoned the poise of a wealthy heiress and shrieked uncontrollably, "You bitch!"

Then she lunged forward to attack!

Seeing this, Jonah Goodman darted in front of Cecilia Sterling, his movements swift as he grabbed Kylie Churchill’s raised hand.

Shawn Lane also moved at the same time, grabbing Kylie Churchill’s other hand.

Jonah Goodman’s face darkened. He looked at Shawn Lane and warned in a hostile tone, "Shawn Lane, control your girlfriend and get her out of here. If this escalates, it won’t be good for anyone!"

Shawn Lane was utterly humiliated. Every new development and revelation was far beyond his comprehension. At this moment, he couldn’t even think straight.

But Kylie Churchill was still making a scene, overcome with grief and fury. Pushed over the edge, Shawn Lane lost control and roared at her, "That’s enough!"

The roar was deafening, loud enough to travel far away, even reaching the banquet hall.

Kylie Churchill’s body trembled visibly. She stared at Shawn Lane in disbelief, her eyes red and filled with disappointment.

"Stop making a scene," Shawn Lane said, his voice now low and submissive.

Kylie Churchill gave a self-deprecating laugh, letting her arms fall limply. She gathered her dress and fled in disgrace.

Cecilia Sterling watched her forlorn figure retreat and sighed silently.

Shawn Lane didn’t hesitate, immediately running after her. He had no face to remain and continue facing Cecilia Sterling.

"Kylie? Where are you going? What happened?"

Hearing the commotion, Yvette and the others came out. They were all stunned by the sight of Kylie Churchill running off without a backward glance, with Shawn Lane chasing after her.

Estelle Goodman rushed to Cecilia Sterling’s side, concerned. "What’s wrong, darling? Did Shawn Lane go crazy again?"

Cecilia Sterling gave a reassuring smile. "It’s nothing. Just a small scene. Don’t worry."

Jonah Goodman added, "Don’t worry, I’m here!"
