Chapter 461 -451: Fusion

Tang Mo actually had a few ideas about the Space Pearl inside her body, which she had obtained only after completing several missions on her own.

In fact, even before she got the pearl, she had already thought of many ways to fuse with it.

Time was of the essence, and there wasn’t much of it left for Tang Mo.

“So many people are rushing into that Illusion Realm one after another. I wonder how many will make it back in the end.”

Lin Yi was overjoyed that her daughter had returned safely. At the same time, she lamented that the increasingly harsh environment was forcing more and more people to take desperate risks, all to fight for a sliver of hope for themselves and for all of humanity.

But how many of them could actually make it out successfully?

Lin Yi had been inside this protective circle the entire time. No one knew better than her what the people inside did every day, how many left, and how many returned.

People left every day, but as for those who returned… seeing two or three in a single week was cause for a massive celebration.

Many people in the protective circle would even go stand at the edge whenever they had free time, hoping to see someone appear in the snowy fields not far away.

Tang Mo’s mind raced as she listened to Lin Yi. She knew better than anyone just how dangerous the Illusion Realm was.

Calling every Illusion Realm a one-in-ten chance of survival might be an exaggeration, but one in five was definitely close to the truth.

To make it out of the Illusion Realm successfully, you didn’t just need overwhelming strength; you also needed courage, wisdom, and even a bit of luck.

Never mind how terrifying the Meat Dragons and vicious people Tang Mo encountered in the first world were. Even in the second, supposedly easy mission world, an ordinary person would have faced certain death.

It was only because Tang Mo had her Space to store food ahead of time, giving her an edge, and because she had enough spiritual power and Combat Power to deal with the villains.

There’s no such thing as a free lunch, and there’s certainly no such thing as a free Attribute Pearl.

Lin Yi’s words made Tang Mo start to wonder, ‘Is it too cruel of me to hide the fact that I’ve already completed three mission worlds and obtained the Space Pearl?’

‘It gives me peace and quiet, but how many other people are still rushing to their deaths, knowing full well how slim the chances are?’

After thinking it over and over, Tang Mo made a decision. She would give herself one night. If she couldn’t successfully fuse with the Space Pearl tonight as she had planned, then tomorrow she would announce the news to everyone to prevent any more unnecessary, hot-blooded sacrifices.

But just one night was an awfully tight schedule.

Tang Mo exchanged a few more words with Lin Yi before ducking into a tent. She set up a Spirit Barrier outside and told Lin Yi not to let anyone disturb her.

“She just got back and she’s already training again. Isn’t she pushing herself too hard?”

Lin Yi’s heart ached for her daughter. In her mind, her daughter had just returned after experiencing all sorts of terrifying things and enduring so much hardship; she should be getting some proper rest.

How could Lin Yi have known that for the past six months in the Illusion World, Tang Mo had spent her days doing nothing but eating, drinking, binge-watching shows, and reading manga?

Forget hardship; it could even be called the most relaxing time Tang Mo had had in decades.

Just as Tang Mo ducked into the tent and set up the barrier, a white, unidentified object charged over and slammed headfirst into the tent. Not only did it fail to get in, but it also landed flat on its butt.

“Jingjing, you’re too late. Momo’s already inside,” Lin Yi said, looking amusedly at the ball of white fluff.

Tang Mo couldn’t bring pets into the Illusion World, not even contracted ones.

So, ever since the Extreme Cold World, Tang Mo had always entered the Illusion World alone.

Jingjing, on the other hand, was left behind in the protective circle.

For other people, staying in the protective circle for a long time was incredibly boring.

But for Jingjing, it was a blast. Since its birth into this world, it had never had so many people to play with.

It wasn’t just Lin Yi’s Golden Retriever, Zhima; Yangyang, Xianxian, Xiao Tao, and Lin Yi all adored it.

Aside from not being able to see Tang Mo and missing her terribly, life was practically perfect.

When Tang Mo returned, Jingjing and Zhima were tuckered out from playing and had fallen fast asleep over at Xiao Tao’s place. The two of them loved nothing more than to tease Lao San. They’d provoke him until he was hollering in frustration, but he never dared to actually lay a hand on either of them.

After all, they were his sister-in-law’s two pets, and his own wife’s precious darlings.

That fox and that dog had a much higher social standing than he did.

When Jingjing woke up, it immediately sensed Tang Mo’s scent. It raced home as fast as it could, but it was still a step too late. Tang Mo had already set up the barrier and gone into the tent.

Jingjing sat down dejectedly against the tent, its eyes welling up with tears.

‘It has been so long since I’ve seen Momo. It’s all my fault. If only I hadn’t been so busy playing.’

Jingjing decided to wait right there at the tent entrance. That way, Momo would see it the very first moment she came out.

Jingjing was much faster than Zhima. By the time Zhima came panting back, Jingjing had already been sitting there for a while.

Because the barrier had sealed in the scent, Zhima didn’t know that Tang Mo was the one inside.

But seeing Jingjing standing guard, Zhima simply lay down at the tent entrance as well, refusing to leave.

A while after Zhima arrived, Xiao Tao returned with Xianxian in tow.

Xiao Tao didn’t exactly have an easy life, either. Tang Mo had originally thought she was getting a combat partner, but she’d ended up with a nanny instead.

Not only did she have to help look after the elderly and the children, but she also had to help take care of a fox and a dog.

“Sister, Sister.”

When Yangyang saw that her sister had gone into the tent and wasn’t letting anyone near, she squatted down at the entrance, curling into a little ball.

When Xianxian heard Yangyang call out “Sister,” her eyes lit up and she went to sit beside her.

Tang Mo had saved Xianxian several times, and although they hadn’t spent much time together, Xianxian was more attached to her than anyone else.

Meanwhile, Tang Mo had no idea that four guardians were now squatting at her tent entrance. She certainly didn’t have to worry about security.

Xiao Tao found the sight of the two little kids and two little animals squatting there amusing, so she went to chat with Lin Yi.

Xiao Tao and Lin Yi had really hit it off, and they would often chat to pass the time so they wouldn’t get bored.

And after discussing it with Wen Jianshu, Lin Yi had already adopted Xiao Tao as her goddaughter.

But even if Tang Mo had known what was happening outside, she wouldn’t have had the time to spare.

Because right now, Tang Mo was in the middle of fusing with the Space Pearl, and she had already reached the most critical stage.

Among Tang Mo’s five attributes, the spatial attribute was both the most and least familiar to her.

It was the most familiar because it was the first she ever encountered; ever since she got the Jade Pendant, Tang Mo had possessed her Space.

And it was the least familiar because the spatial attribute was the only one of Tang Mo’s attributes that had a value of 0.
