Sasuke shook his arms, which he had just used to block Rock Lee’s ‘Leaf Rising Wind,’ and looked at Lee in surprise. His arms felt a bit numb, something he hadn’t expected. Sasuke said with a solemn tone, “Rock Lee, you used to be at the bottom of the barrel just like Naruto, but it seems that you are no longer as incompetent as before.” And added with a smirk, “Regardless, this was the only opportunity you had to take me by surprise; it won’t work anymore!”

Unfazed by Sasuke’s words, Lee once again dashed toward Sasuke, saying with a bright smile, “Sasuke-san, so you are finally taking me seriously!”

“Humph,” snorted Sasuke as lightning crackled around his body. He then took out a pair of Kunai from his shinobi bag, and with traces of lightning around him, he leaped forward to meet Rock Lee’s attack. “You are confident in your speed and strength? Let me make you reevaluate yourself!”

Out of nowhere, two incredibly fast afterimages clashed in the arena. Muffled sounds reached the ears of the crowd, accompanied by zapping noises and the sound of breaking through the wind.

Among the judges, Kuroto narrowed his eyes as he noticed the traces of lightning around Sasuke’s body. Others might not grasp the significance of the lightning, but Kuroto understood it well. With just a single glance, he realized that Sasuke was using the Lightning Chakra Nature to stimulate his body, enhancing his reaction speed, acceleration, and explosive speed in short bursts.

“When did Rock Lee become so fast and strong?!” questioned someone among the trainees.

“Could it be that Sasuke-san is going to lose to Rock Lee?” pondered one of the girls, who happens to be Sasuke’s die-hard fan.

“Probably not…” answered another girl, and added, “Earlier, Neji-san was also pushed to the corner by Naruto; however, he wasn’t defeated, and it resulted in a draw between them. Sasuke-san is equally as strong as Neji-san, if not more! As one of the twin stars of the academy, there is no way he would lose to Rock Lee, no matter how strong Rock Lee has become!”

The trainees were all discussing and giving their opinions. Some wanted Sasuke to lose, some wanted Sasuke to quickly defeat Rock Lee, and some were simply complaining about their inability to keep up with their speed.

Among them, Naruto–who had just had a draw with Neji–also shook his head with an astonished look, “How did they suddenly become so fast… Let alone Sasuke, how did bushy-brow become so fast and strong!”

Sitting beside Naruto, Neji was equally shocked, if not more. He realized that in the past seven months, it wasn’t just Naruto who became extremely strong, but even Rock Lee became remarkably powerful. Both Rock Lee and Naruto were no longer at the bottom of the barrel as they used to be!

‘Why is this happening? Why is everyone suddenly becoming so strong?’ he couldn’t help but wonder, and muttered, “Is it really just because of the special training we received in the past seven months?”

At the same time, Neji also realized that he really can’t let down his guard. It’s no longer as simple as it used to be back in the academy when the only person who rivaled him and gave him competition was Sasuke. Things are different now; almost everyone has changed in the past seven months. It’s not just him and Sasuke who have gotten stronger; almost everyone in his class has made incredible progress!

“Considering what happened in the previous fight, I still need to work harder!” he muttered as he looked at Naruto sitting beside him.

After fighting against Naruto and watching all these fights, a sense of superiority within Neji, as the disciple of Hokage, a member of a noble Shinobi Clan, someone born with the Byakugan, and someone hailed as one of the most genius Hyuga in the thousand years long history of the clan, had all shattered today.

No longer did Neji feel that he was superior to anyone out there.

In fact, Neji understands quite well that he had actually lost the previous fight. The official result may have been a draw; however, that was the case when Naruto wasn’t, or in better words, couldn’t use his Senjutsu Mode. Had Naruto used the Senjutsu Mode and somehow made that work with his Shadow Clones, then he would have definitely lost. There wouldn’t have been any other outcome; it would have been a complete and honest defeat!

Therefore, Neji realizes now more than ever that he needs to up his game because if he doesn’t, he will be left behind. It’s no longer just Sasuke; there’s also Naruto and Rock Lee he needs to watch out for!
