Chapter 578: An Accidentally Good Idea

Two days later, Shen Nian returned to school and was greeted with a warm welcome from her roommates.

Of course, it wasn’t just Shen Nian they were welcoming, but also the homemade pastries she brought.

She had promised them, and Shen Nian always kept her word. Besides, it was just a few pastries, so it didn’t take up too much of her time.

In fact, Shen Nian had made quite a large batch. The ones she brought to school were only a small portion; the larger part was reserved for Lu Cheng.

Even though she wouldn’t be there, she could at least leave something at the company, a little something to remind Lu Cheng of her.

"Xiao Nian, your skills are incredible!"

"Yeah, they’re delicious! So, so good!"

Qi Yunzhi and Wang Chunhua showered Shen Nian with praise, their hands and mouths moving nonstop, as if afraid that if they hesitated for a second, someone else would snatch away all the pastries.

Chu Lingxiu was a little calmer than the other two, but not by much. At most, her movements were just a bit more elegant.

"Xiao Nian, I have so many regrets! I really should have eaten more last time! What you make is so much better than Dingshi Restaurant!"

Chu Lingxiu’s eyes lit up. To think she once believed Dingshi Restaurant’s pastries were so amazing. Turns out, it was just because she’d never tasted anything better!

The thought of the rose cakes she had thrown in the trash last time made Chu Lingxiu’s heart ache with regret.

’Aargh, I really should have eaten more last time! Maybe if I’d eaten Shen Nian’s rose cakes back then, I would have started liking her sooner, and all those later misunderstandings would have never happened!’

If Shen Nian knew what Chu Lingxiu was thinking, she would definitely want to introduce her to Lu Xinyue.

Putting everything else aside, the two of them were practically cut from the same cloth when it came to being foodies!

"If you like them, please eat up. If you really enjoy them, I can make a bigger batch next time."

Shen Nian smiled as she watched the three of them. Seeing others enjoy the pastries she’d made was a truly joyful experience.

"We love them! Of course we love them! Xiao Nian, don’t forget—you have to make more next time!"

"Okay."

"You know, I’ve noticed something. There are plenty of little restaurants for meals outside our school, but there aren’t really any snack shops like this. And even if there were, their stuff would never taste as good as what you make, Xiao Nian. If you opened a snack shop just off campus, business would be incredible!"

As Qi Yunzhi spoke, she didn’t forget to pop another pastry into her mouth. After a couple of chews, a blissful expression spread across her face.

Hearing Qi Yunzhi’s words, Shen Nian froze for a moment, then smiled.

’How did I not think of that before? Qi Yunzhi just stumbled upon a really great idea!’

’Even though I have the eco-farm and clothing factory back home, I haven’t really done anything major since coming to B City!’

’My future career will primarily be based in B City, so I really should start planning now.’

’A snack shop... Even if it’s just a small-scale venture, it’s still a pretty good idea.’

Besides, Shen Nian had no intention of personally managing the entire operation after opening a snack shop.

Moreover, Shen Nian glanced over at Wang Chunhua, whose eyes were practically glowing as she stared at the snacks. Given her family’s financial situation, she would definitely be looking for a part-time job.
