Reborn in the 90s with a Space: Winning Back My Husband
Chapter 573: I Want to Try (3)
"Then I’ll leave this matter to you."
"Okay. It’s getting late. We should all head back and get some rest."
"Goodness, I can’t believe it’s so late. Let’s head back. Everyone, go get some rest."
With a wave of his hand, Chu Zhengwei urged everyone in the family to hurry back and rest.
Lu Cheng quickly returned to the room where Shen Nian was sleeping. The Chu Family had prepared this room especially for them; in their eyes, Lu Cheng and Shen Nian were already part of the family.
Lu Cheng got into bed, lying down beside Shen Nian. As he gazed at her sleeping face, he silently recalled what Chu Zhengwei had just told him.
"What will you decide?"
Just as Lu Cheng finished speaking, Shen Nian stirred and slowly opened her eyes. Seeing Lu Cheng, she scooted up a bit, leaning against the headboard to look at him.
"You’re back! Is everything over?"
"Yeah, it’s over."
"Then let’s get to sleep! We have to go back tomorrow!"
Shen Nian had no intention of changing their plans. She didn’t really care where they went—what mattered was that she wanted to be wherever Lu Cheng was.
"Okay."
After he spoke, Lu Cheng lay down beside Shen Nian and pulled her into his arms.
However, Shen Nian, who had looked sleepy just a moment before, suddenly seemed wide awake. She propped herself up on Lu Cheng, staring intently at his face.
"Did something happen? You look a little... off."
Tilting her head, Shen Nian rested it on Lu Cheng’s chest and watched him, seemingly trying to guess what had happened.
Lu Cheng didn’t intend to hide what Chu Zhengwei had said from Shen Nian, but he also didn’t plan on telling her right now.
He would tell her, just not while they were at the Chu residence. He didn’t want anyone influencing her decision.
’But judging by the way she’s looking at me,’ Lu Cheng thought, ’it seems she won’t go to sleep peacefully unless I tell her the truth.’
"Weren’t you tired? Why aren’t you asleep yet?"
Lu Cheng said as he looked at Shen Nian, his expression much more relaxed than before.
"But you still haven’t told me what happened."
Shen Nian knew something must have happened, but it probably wasn’t anything too serious. After all, Lu Cheng’s expression was still fairly normal.
"I was worried you’d be exhausted from the banquet today, but it seems you have a lot of energy."
"Yeah, I’m okay. The banquet wasn’t as tiring as I thought it would be."
Shen Nian nodded, not sensing anything amiss in Lu Cheng’s words at all.
It wasn’t until Lu Cheng rolled over, pinning her beneath him, that she finally realized.
"Since you’re not tired, then... why don’t we do something more meaningful?"
"..."
Seeing Lu Cheng like this, how could Shen Nian not understand what he meant by "something more meaningful"?
"But, we’re here..."
Shen Nian’s voice grew fainter and fainter.
"It’s fine, Nini. I’ve missed you so much."
After he spoke, he leaned down and kissed Shen Nian’s lips. In truth, he had wanted to do this for a long time but had been holding back for her sake.
’With her, soft and warm, in his arms, how could he possibly hold back any longer!’
"..."
The words Shen Nian had wanted to say went unsaid, and she was soon lost in Lu Cheng’s tenderness.
’I missed him, too! I’ve been thinking about him ever since the day we parted!’
’Even though it had only been a few short days, the longing in my heart has only grown deeper.’
Lost in Lu Cheng’s tenderness, Shen Nian gradually forgot the question she had wanted to ask him earlier.
