Chapter 529: Something Is Definitely Wrong

The first class meeting didn’t last very long, and once it ended, people began to trickle out.

However, before leaving, many of them snuck a few extra glances at Shen Nian. Some even wanted to approach her and strike up a conversation, but after what Xu Zhe had said, they felt a bit too awkward to get close to her for the time being.

Still, they were all classmates. There was plenty of time ahead of them; they were bound to have opportunities eventually!

’Shen Nian is exceptionally talented, so it’s only natural for her to receive better treatment. Blind jealousy won’t help us catch up to her ability!’

’So, the best thing to do is to work hard and improve ourselves. And since Shen Nian is our classmate, it’s far better to be on good terms with her than on bad terms!’

Shen Nian hadn’t expected that Xu Zhe’s speech would improve her future standing in the class so much. She was now just waiting for the other students to leave so she could go find Xu Zhe and get some clear answers.

"Instructor."

Once the classroom had emptied out, leaving only Shen Nian and Xu Zhe, she walked over to him.

"To be precise, you should call me Senior Brother."

Xu Zhe said with a smile as he finished gathering his things and looked at Shen Nian.

"Senior Brother?"

Shen Nian looked at Xu Zhe in surprise. At university, underclassmen usually addressed upperclassmen as "senior," but "Senior Brother"... that carried a completely different meaning.

"That’s right. I’m also one of Professor Liang’s students, just several years ahead of you."

Xu Zhe explained, looking at Shen Nian. He genuinely admired his new junior sister. After all, even he—Professor Liang’s star pupil—had only been officially accepted as a disciple during his graduate studies. Shen Nian was already leagues ahead of him.

"Oh, I see."

Shen Nian nodded at Xu Zhe. Her first impression of this senior brother was a good one. At the very least, she couldn’t detect any trace of malice or resentment in his eyes.

"Professor Liang is away giving lectures and won’t be back for a while. If you run into any problems in the meantime, Junior Sister, feel free to come find me directly."

"Okay, thank you, Senior Brother Xu."

"It seems you really don’t remember me at all, Junior Sister. Then again, you probably didn’t even notice me back then."

"Huh? What do you mean by that, Senior Brother Xu?"

’Could we have met before? But why don’t I have any memory of it?’

"You remember saving that old man on the train, don’t you, Junior Sister?"

"I remember."

’Of course I remember! That old man is my godfather now. How could I possibly forget?’

"I was on that train, too. Your first-aid technique on the old man was very impressive."

"Wait, don’t tell me you were the doctor the train staff went to get?"

Shen Nian stared at Xu Zhe, completely surprised. ’What a coincidence!’

Back then, though, she had already stabilized Mr. He Sr.’s condition, so she hadn’t paid much attention to the doctor they brought over. She certainly never would have imagined having a conversation like this with him now!
