For every grievance, someone was responsible. For every debt, there was a debtor.

As a mother, there was nothing wrong with lecturing her daughter, yet the adopted daughter lashed back at her. If it were not Han Ziyan, then Meng Yunhan would have never taken it lying down.

But Han Ziyan was her favourite child after all. She was the one who made her proud. So what if Han Ruochen cleared a path in the sea? In her heart, Han Ziyan was still better because she had the blood of the Yun family in her veins. Compared to Han Ruochen and the rest, her Ziyan was destined to do big things. How could her beloved’s daughter be any less than someone like Han Yichen?

She could not lose her temper with Han Ziyan, so she turned to look at Han Ruochen. She glared at Han Ruochen and released her pent-up frustration at her least likeable daughter. "Are you stupid? Why did you bring your father to this small room? Do you wish your dad would die, and is that why you brought him here? Do you have too much money to splurge?"

Han Yichen sighed. He was really disappointed in Meng Yunhan.

Han Ziyan clearly told her that he was the one who asked to be in this room. It had nothing to do with Han Ruochen or anyone else. At the very least, he could say that all of his children were willing to listen to him obediently, including Han Ziyan.

Anyway, if Meng Yunhan was angry, she should have directed her anger at him.

Parents always had their own good reasons.

However, Old Meng was simply biased toward Han Ziyan and always sided with her, but Han Ruochen had not done anything. Yet she was scolding her without a reason. Han Ruochen had never once disrespected Old Meng, and yet she didn’t even care about something so simple.

He then glanced at Han Ziyan, and his view started to change about this girl as well. Meng Yunhan cared for and loved her like her own child, even though she was not. In fact, she cared for Han Ziyan even more than her own children. For the sake of Han Ziyan, she was even willing to ignore her own children, yet even after being yelled at by Han Ziyan, Old Meng did not lose her temper with Han Ruochen; instead, she blamed Han Ruochen.

What was more, he could see that Han Ziyan had developed all sorts of bad traits because of Meng Yunhan.

Nevertheless, his wife seemed oblivious to these things and still indulged Han Ziyan. What was more, if he wanted to correct Han Ziyan, Old Meng would definitely stop him and remind him that Han Ziyan had a hard destiny and there was no need to make her life any more difficult than it already was.

Han Yichen curled his lips into a sarcastic smile. Han Ziyan might be wrong to lash out at her mother, but Meng Yunhan was the one who asked for it!

"So what if they don’t have enough money? Even if they did not have enough money, they have you, don’t they? You can just borrow the money from others." Han Yichen’s eyes were red when he was reminded of what happened when he was sent to the hospital. His good wife, whom he had married and brought home, did not even have enough money to take care of his medical expenses. "You all", he addressed their children before adding, "Go to your rooms."

"Wait!" Meng Yunhan was stunned when she heard what her husband had said. How did Han Yichen find out what happened that day?

She turned and glared at Han Ruochen; she knew it. She knew that Han Ruochen wouldn’t keep her mouth shut. Look at this; she actually told Han Yichen all about what happened when he was admitted to the hospital. She was such a good daughter of hers.

"You don’t need to blame Ruochen. You were shouting and making a fuss, so I heard everything that was happening. Do you think that I was unconscious to the point where I couldn’t hear a thing?" Han Yichen sneered. "You made such a fuss that you became popular in the entire hospital; it is no surprise that I was able to find out what had happened." He turned to his children and then added, "You all go do your thing."

"No! None of you can leave!" Meng Yunhan’s face was pale. She quickly grabbed Han Xuehan and Han Yong, who were just about to turn around and leave. These kids were her shields. "I...we are all one family, and there should be no secret between us. They have the right to listen to what you have to say."

Meng Yunhan knew that Han Yichen would be furious if he found out that she had borrowed money from his colleagues. Thus, she did not dare to stay alone with him; what if Han Yichen lost his temper and started to raise his hand and voice at her?

What was more, she never expected that after spending all the money they had at home, Han Yichen would be stomped on by a pig. If this man had not been careless enough, then this matter would not have come to light publicly. Sooner or later, she could convince her husband to give her the money.

However, now that the truth was out in the open, she could no longer hide it.

"Are you sure?" Han Yichen questioned, and Meng Yunhan turned so frightened that her legs were shaking from fear. She had no liking for her children, yet she grabbed onto them tightly.

Seeing this, Han Yichen sighed. "Old Han, I regret it. I really regret it."

He should never have married this woman, even if it meant ruining his reputation. He turned to look at his children, who were waiting nervously, and waved his hand tiredly. "Alright, you all go back to your rooms and Old Meng, you should know what you should do now. Go and clean the house now."
