Reborn In The 90's: Saving My Siblings With A Fishing System
Chapter 536: Yelling At The Wrong Person
Han Ziyan clenched her fingers tightly. Sure enough, she was right; her adoptive father was only concerned about Han Ruochen. She was already in such a condition because of Han Ruochen, and yet Han Yichen did not care about her at all. He had not even shown her the slightest bit of concern, and yet he was rushing forward to support Han Ruochen.
Meng Yunhan rushed forward and immediately argued with Han Yichen, "Why are you getting angry with her? Think about her condition." Inwardly, she was worried about Han Ziyan. Her daughter was already pregnant with that bastard’s child. She could not even abort this devil’s spawn because if Han Ziyan cleared this child, then there was a good chance that Han Ziyan would not be able to become a mother again.
When Han Yichen heard her words, he was so angry that he laughed. "Her condition is not an excuse for everything you and she are doing! Nor does it give you permission to disregard Ruochen."
He then turned to look at Han Ruochen.
"From now on, if someone tries to use your achievements to promote themselves, you tell me. I will deal with them. This award is something that you have gained with your abilities. You don’t owe anyone anything, nor do you need to share your fame with anyone."
For the first time, Han Ruochen felt better. She pursed her lips and nodded. "Thank you, Dad."
Magistrate Zhang watched the exchange between the two, and he understood what was going on. It seemed like even if Han Ruochen’s mother was not genuine toward her, her father was quite concerned about her. He then glanced at Han Ziyan and said to her, "Miss Han, I appreciate the invitation, but I am afraid that I have to decline. Your family should celebrate the entire day, celebrating Miss Han Ruochen’s accomplishment."
Han Ziyan’s face turned pale when she heard the words of the magistrate. Though he didn’t say it outright, he was refusing her!
"But magistrate—"
"I have already congratulated the person I came here to honour." His words were polite and final.
"I will see you off, Magistrate Zhang." Han Yong hurried forward to escort Magistrate Zhang outside. Han Xuehan hesitated, but she too followed after the two of them. Han Ruochen, on the other hand, accompanied her father back inside the house.
No one cared about Han Ziyan, who had been thoroughly embarrassed by the entire situation. She turned and glared at her mother before saying angrily, "Mom, you are really my good mother. Look at what you have done; see how I have been embarrassed because of your actions."
When she thought about how the magistrate left without even giving her a chance to show off, she knew that the man had developed some opinions toward her and she was not happy about it! She was thinking of getting close to the magistrate of the county, not to make him distant from her. It was all her mother’s fault.
She completely forgot that she also rushed forward to flatter the magistrate. If she had stayed behind and stopped her mother, then there was a good chance that she wouldn’t be in this situation either. However, Han Ziyan was quick to blame her mother.
After she finished speaking, she turned on her heel and hurried inside the house. Han Ziyan was simply too upset when she thought about how she had lost all of her face in front of the magistrate.
"Ziyan! Ziyan! Listen to me." Meng Yunhan, who was left behind, was filled with distress. She thought about how her precious daughter had been insulted and felt angrier than ever. She marched inside the house and went searching for Han Yichen. When she found him, she immediately snapped at him angrily, "You have humiliated me and Ziyan in front of everyone!"
Han Yichen had just sat down. He was about to take a glass of water from Han Ruochen when he heard his wife’s complaints. He raised his head and looked at her. "No, you have humiliated yourself when you decided to use Ruochen’s achievements as a stepping stone for your precious daughter."
Though Han Yichen hardly lost his temper, he was, after all, the man of the house. When he got serious, one could sense the change in his demeanour at once. Meng Yunhan was startled when she saw how solemn Han Yichen looked. She parted her lips, but then she noticed something. She blinked her eyes and then looked around, and it was only then that she noticed that they were not in her room.
She turned to Han Ruochen and got angry. "What are you doing? This room is so small! It belongs to your younger brother, and you have brought your father to this room. Are you trying to aggravate his injury? Do you want him to get sick once again? Why did you not bring him to our room?" This won’t do. Now that Han Ruochen had gotten acquainted with the magistrate, she had to make use of Han Yichen to get close to the magistrate as well.
This could help Yun Xinye greatly.
However, how was she supposed to do it if Han Yichen was sleeping in a different room?
She then turned to Han Ziyan, who had followed everyone inside. "And you too, Ziyan. I expected such a thing from them, but how could you do such a thing?"
She and Han Yichen hadn’t divorced yet, so there was no need to stay in separate rooms. How could Han Ziyan be as foolish as Han Ruochen and the rest? Maybe they were hoping that she would be kicked out of the family, given how distant and unfilial they had been acting.
Han Ziyan was angry at being scolded by Meng Yunhan. "Mom, what are you yelling at me for? I did not want to help Dad into this room either. But it was Dad who insisted that he wanted to continue sleeping in this room. Why should I be scolded for his decisions?" It had nothing to do with her. Her mother had no right to yell at her. If she wanted to yell at someone, she should yell at her adoptive father.
