Reborn in the 80s and Remarrying an Officer, Let the Ungrateful Cry!
Chapter 641: Is This Repaying a Kindness or Taking Revenge?
Qin Wenying had been in the hospital for half a month.
She felt like she really couldn’t take her mother anymore.
"Can I be discharged today?"
After being hospitalized for two weeks, she felt like she had gained several pounds.
Most importantly, with her mother watching her like a hawk, she couldn’t do her daily physical training.
Even though she said she was already fully recovered, her mother didn’t believe her at all.
Whenever she got out of bed to walk around, her mother would stare, giving her no chance to exercise.
If she had to stay any longer, she felt like all her physical functions would seriously decline.
’Will I still be able to run fifty kilometers after this?’
Mrs. Qin said with disdain, "You ask this every day. Didn’t I tell you we have to wait for Doctor Xie to decide?"
Qin Wenying immediately pressed, "When is Doctor Xie coming?"
She realized she hadn’t seen Doctor Xie for about three days.
Mrs. Qin shot her a look. "How should I know when Doctor Xie is coming? She’s a busy woman. You think she reports her every move to me?"
"Mom, I’m the patient here. Can you cut me some slack?"
"And I’m your mother. Can you try not to make me so angry?"
At that moment, Mrs. Qin no longer looked like the heartbroken and distressed woman she had been a while ago.
The mother and daughter had reverted to their usual combat mode.
Just then, Qin Wenze came in.
He smiled and said, "Good news. Doctor Xie is here. She’ll be over in a moment."
Hearing this, Qin Wenying’s eyes lit up.
"Really?"
Qin Wenze nodded. "Really. I just saw her."
Qin Wenying was thrilled. "That’s fantastic!"
She didn’t have to wait long.
A few moments later, Doctor Xie arrived.
When Qin Wenying saw her, her eyes shone with excitement.
"Doctor Xie, I’m getting discharged today."
Doctor Xie looked at her. "I’ll examine you first. If there are no issues, you can be discharged today or tomorrow."
"Then let’s do it!" Qin Wenying said impatiently.
Mrs. Qin was taken aback.
’What’s so bad about being in the hospital? I’m here with her, aren’t I?’
Half an hour later, Doctor Xie finished her examination. "You can be discharged. A family member can go handle the paperwork in a bit. Oh, and avoid any strenuous exercise for a while."
Qin Wenying paused. ’Running doesn’t count as strenuous exercise... right?’
She knew better than to ask and create problems for herself.
’If I ask, Doctor Xie will probably just say no.’
So, she kept her mouth shut.
As soon as Mrs. Qin heard Doctor Xie approve the discharge, she immediately sent Qin Wenze to handle the paperwork.
Then, she turned to Doctor Xie and said with great enthusiasm, "Doctor Xie, thank you so much for everything. You’re truly our family’s savior—you’ve saved my son, my daughter, and even my granddaughter. It feels like we share a special bond. With that said, I’d like to invite you to our home for a meal, if you would."
Hearing this, Doctor Xie shook her head. "Thank you, but there’s no need for a meal. It’s not allowed."
Mrs. Qin immediately replied, "I’m inviting you as a friend, not as a patient’s family inviting a doctor."
Doctor Xie was at a loss.
’Friends? Who’s friends with whom?’
"I’m sorry, I don’t have the time."
Mrs. Qin looked a little disappointed to hear that.
"Oh, by the way, Doctor Xie, do you have any plans to get married? I was wondering if I could introduce you to someone?"
She thought Doctor Xie was good-looking and highly skilled—a truly wonderful young woman.
And as it happened, she’d heard that Doctor Xie was single.
When Qin Wenying heard her mother’s words, she nearly choked on her own spit.
’Heavens, is she trying to repay a kindness or get revenge?!’
’The woman is perfectly happy being single, and you want to play matchmaker for her?’
