Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family
Chapter 1422: The Duke wants
"Didn’t you hear what I said? I’ll buy everything. No need to exclude anything from this paper."
In the duke’s hands was an itemized list of everything that the Reborn company was selling here in the racing circuit. It ranged from simple candles and soaps, to high-end appliances like the washing machines and the televisions and air conditioning units.
"But sir, those appliances can only be used if you have electricity."
The Duke frowned. "Electricity? Like lightning?"
It was at this point that Lamia took out her touchphone and showed the Duke the video tutorial for electricity.
Reborn had to introduce the concept of electricity so many times now that they had made an instructional video that aptly explained everything there was to know about electricity and their uses.
And about ten minutes later, the video ended and the duke nodded in understanding.
"I see... those electric lines will be the source of power for these appliances."
"And with those appliances, we can do a lot of things... that washing machine really looks so convenient. We’ll no longer have to burden our maids with handwashing our laundry. It’ll be more convenient and much more cleaner," said the duke’s wife.
"Yes. That is correct," said the Lamia.
It didn’t take long before the duke had a question. "Why is this electricity not widespread in the Elite Society? We are supposed to be a group of people who have everything we could ever want in the world. We are the elite. We should have things that other people do not have, not the other way around.
But instead, it’s the general public that has everything, while we are still lagging behind. It happened with the automobiles. And now, it happened with electricity and these phones.
How can we maintain the dignity of royalty if we live like paupers in comparison to actual paupers. We do not even have running water like everyone else in the Nation of Reborn!"
The Lamia awkwardly laughed. "Our Supreme Leader has been working on spreading electric lines all over the Royal Continent. But... we are always getting bogged down by the others..."
She didn’t have to say much more before the Duke understood what she was trying to get at.
After all, he was royalty. He knew the inner workings of the elite, and the Upper Echelons and the Conglomerates.
Although those electric lines seemed to be extremely convenient and useful, they would still refuse to have them be installed in their own territories simply because they treated Reborn as their opponents.
And they were also the reason why the current Elite Society cannot be installed with electric lines.
After all, their territory was surrounded by territories from the other companies and Conglomerates. In order for those electric lines to go from the Rebornian territory all the way to the personal estates of these dukes and viscounts and barons, they would have to go through the land of the other companies.
And of course, they weren’t going to let another company build something in their own territory.
"That is frustrating," said the Duke. "Alright. Let me speak with your Supreme Leader."
"For what reason would you want to meet with him, if I may ask?"
"It’s to help him burst through all of those bureaucratic lines, that’s what! Those Conglomerates and those Upper Echelons are preventing him from creating electric lines leading to my estate? Well, not anymore. I shall help him go through all of the proper channels."
The Lamia’s eyes’ widened at the duke’s declaration.
Just like that? He was going to allow the Reborn company to cross through Conglomerate territory just because he wanted a washing machine in his own territory? Could the power of a duke really be used in such a way?
"Very well! I shall inform our Supreme Leader of your intentions!" said the Lamia.
Immediately, she turned around and began to run the other way. But before she could go, the duke had one last thing to say.
"Oh and please give me some McTony’s chicken as well. I’m hankering for some good food, and that chicken smell is heavenly."
"Me too," said his wife. "Oh, and buy one for our maids and butlers as well. How many would that be?"
It was at this point that their young son, who had been completely drowned in his tablet looked up and began counting on his fingers.
"One, two, three, four, five, six, plus one... is seven! Buy seven chickens for us all, please!"
The duke and his wife were flabbergasted upon seeing their young son answer such a question. He could barely even count to three, and now, he was adding things up?!
That tablet was a godsend!

Michael sat at the VIP section of their racing circuit along with Yuna. Here, they could see the entirety of the race as it unfolded.
"Ah. There’s our car," he said to Yuna.
A strange-looking car rolled down out of the garage and into the circuit to take its spot.
All of the other automobiles right next to it were the typical cars. Rectangular in nature, with a much more streamlined form. Basically, the other companies didn’t stray far away from the original design of the automobile.
They prioritized the strength of their car. The durability. After all, they knew that there would be a lot of crashing and bumping in this race. Not only that, but the car also had to endure the Aubility Power that was imbued there to enhance their speed.
In comparison, the Rebornian car looked to be... flat.
It had a hammer-head nose, with the driver seat looking like they were almost flush to the ground.
"Nice design, thought of it all by yourself?" Yuna teased.
"If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it," he replied.
The F1 design of the car was the best over-all form for speed in races like this. So, all he had to do was copy the design back in his previous world and benefit from the hundreds of years of innovation that they had.
Of course, in this world, they were still ignorant of its use.
"That’s their car? Ha! That’ll fly off easily with a single bump!"
