Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family
Chapter 1373: Unexpected beat
Draco couldn’t believe his eyes. The speed in which Michael had suddenly appeared in front of his eyes was simply too fast. He was confident of his own perception. It had allowed him to win against duels with the other Nascent Spirit cultivators with ease.
However, that speed was simply transcending speed itself. It wasn’t even teleportation. It was much faster than that. It was as if the speed was beyond time itself!
"What the hell is that kind of power?!" Draco screamed as he ran through the dark forest.
Michael continued to run after him, using Quantum Step after Quantum Step.
However, he wasn’t able to give Draco a single hit. His Unity Saber was just a hair’s breadth away from touching Draco’s Nascent Armor.
It was frustrating, to say the least.
"Looks like you’re quite lacking in your swordsmanship training," Draco taunted. "You’re not even using the right forms!"
It was true. The very reason that Michael had yet to catch his opponent was because of his lack of swordsmanship skill. He was able to catch up to him, yes, but the slight instance in which Michael swung his Saber allowed Draco to move away in time.
This told Draco that Michael was, at the very least, a beginner when it came to swordsmanship. And because of this, he started to sweat.
What kind of monster would Michael become if he was able to fight with the same skill as a master swordsman?
"What are you chasing after me for? Aren’t you worried about your soldiers?" Draco asked, clearly intending to distract Michael just in time for him to escape.
After all, at this moment, the EoV army began their true assault. They unleashed a volley of their Aubility Powers, each one specialized to deal with the strengths of the Rebornian army.
A strange scent permeated the battlefield. One that seemed to have tapped into the very animalistic nature of the Red Mankeys. Immediately, they felt themselves being beholden to some kind of spell, taking with it their physicality. Their movements seemed mired with mud!
And the Rebornian army, on the other hand, found themselves in a strange dream-like dimension, one in which they were completely separated from their own soldiers.
Here, they couldn’t see anything. They couldn’t hear anything.
And worst of all, they couldn’t remember anything. This was a spell in which, for a brief second, the Rebornian soldiers didn’t even remember that they were soldiers!
From this coordinated attack, the EoV soldiers began their assault. They targeted the Rebornian weaknesses within their formations, something they seemed to have learned from their battle with the Western Pole company.
Watching this from afar, it would truly seem as if Draco’s army had the upper hand. It would only be a matter of time until the Rebornian soldiers would be decimated by the EoV soldiers.
But even in this chaotic state, the Rebornian soldiers seemed to have the resilience to keep to their instincts.
They protected the Rebornian musicians, who were positioned at the very back.
And this, perhaps, would be the greatest mistake that the Ease of Vindication soldiers would make.
They were so focused on the Rebornians swordsmen, the Red mankeys, that they completely neglected to take care of the easiest target within the Rebornians.
After all, the musicians weren’t even supposed to be a part of this Sanctum Duel.
So, because of their training, the EoV soldiers all funneled their strength and their powers onto the most dangerous part of the Rebornian army. They would deal with the Rebornian musicians later, they thought.
However, it was at that moment when Draco’s soldiers were about to decimate the Rebornian soldiers when a strange tune suddenly echoed through the dark and grim forest.
It was first a high beat drum, followed by the rhythmic booming of the flutes and the horns as if there was an orchestra right in front of this battlefield.
It created a sense of urgency. A sense of excitement within the Rebornian soldiers. And their hearts, seemingly influenced by this rhythm, started to beat incessantly. It beat and beat, forcing the GodForge pieces in their bodies to release an even stronger surge of power.
The Rebornian soldiers were suddenly imbued with a new energy!
And with this energy, their own bodies began to fight the Aubility Power that had caught their minds into a prison. It had allowed them to break through the difference in power!
After all, the average strength of the EoV soldiers was about the 5th stage of the Body formation realm. And the Rebornian soldiers, on the other hand, were only in the 4th stage, with the Red Mankeys being in the 1st stage of their cultivation.
That was why they were caught into the spell so easily!
However, this rhythm that the musicians brought out into the scene had successfully energized their GodForge pieces into breaking through their limits.
For a short amount of time, these Rebornian soldiers would now exhibit a strength that was one stage higher than their own cultivation!
Flames erupted out of the Rebornian soldiers as they used the Eternal Flame swordstyle to create a bulwark that encased the EoV soldiers into a single location.
They used their defensive formation for offense!
Now, Draco’s soldiers found themselves backed into a corner. Cindering flames behind them, and an angry mob of energized soldiers in front.
"What the hell happened?!"
"Why are they suddenly so strong?!"
"Get out! Find a way out!"
The EoV soldiers began to fight their way through the Rebornian formation, wanting to release themselves from the hell in which the Eternal Flame swordstyle had encased them in.
But as they fought harder, the beating of drums and the echoes of the orchestra only became faster.
Now, it’s not just one stage in cultivation. Now, they found themselves elevated by two stages!
Watching this, Draco couldn’t help but gasp out loud. "You freaks!" he shouted. "I knew there was something wrong with those musicians! Looks like I’m going to have to deal with them myself.
