The EoV army seemed to have learnt their lesson from the Western Pole company’s mistake.

First of all, they figured out that the Liquid Void wouldn’t be effective against the Rebornian army. So, they didn’t even bring one in order to fight against the Eternal Flame swordstyle.

Instead, they went with a different strategy. They instead went for a more guerilla-tactic type of warfare.

And in truth, this was the most effective way of dealing with the Reborn company.

The strength of the Eternal Flame swordstyle laid in the fact that the stronger the cooperation and the connection between the soldiers, the stronger the flame that they were going to produce. That’s why it was so lethal in the hands of the Rebornians.

However when fought individually, the Eternal Flame swordstyle lacked in strength.

And it seemed that the EoV army knew exactly about that weakness and used it to their advantage.

Michael had to hand it to Draco. The man was a true connoisseur when it came to warfare.

EoV soldiers charged towards the Rebornian soldiers, using their unique Aubility Powers to create separation between the Rebornian soldiers. The very space, the very reality of the ground underneath their feet was starting to distort, creating a visual separation between each soldier.

And through this separation, no Eternal Flame could coincide with each other. They were only able to form wisps of fires, but nothing more. They didn’t connect.

"Charge! Kill these Rebornians!" the EoV soldiers shouted to the top of their lungs.

Loren had to command the entire army to start their retreat. Right now, they weren’t getting injured thanks to the resilience of their Mithril Artifact armors. But it would only be a matter of time if their opponents continued their onslaught.

"They’re using the Berserker’s Everlight swordstyle," said one of the Lionheart soldiers amongst their army. "It’s one of the only few swordstyles that can counter our Eternal Flame."

It looked like Draco had prepared well for this. And he himself hasn’t even appeared yet!

Michael, at this point, wasn’t even treating this seriously yet. Ashamedly, his thoughts were burdened by the moment when Yuna kissed him on the lips. Her scent lingered on his nose, making him remember that moment seemingly forever.

It was only when he heard the sounds of his soldiers calling to him did he finally snap back to reality.

"Boss! Should we start our counterattack?" they asked him.

Michael turned his attention back towards the battlefield. Right now, they were at a disadvantage, getting pushed further and further back. But it wasn’t yet at a critical point.

He was waiting for the moment that Draco appeared. That way, they could surprise them both.

And so, he used his Mini Drones to search for the supposed ’youngest’ Nascent Spirit cultivator aside from him.

His Drones weren’t able to see anything beyond these grim trees. Perhaps, it was one of Draco’s Aubility Powers. He was able to hide his presence against other Nascent Spirit cultivators with ease.

However, what Draco would never expect was that Michael had other means to sniff out his presence.

With his Supreme Talent, Michael could see ever facet of magic inside a person’s body. No matter their strength nor weakness.

And so, he was able to spot a small clump of Light mana gathering right behind him, slowly creeping in with an evil and a bloodthirsty smile written on his face.

It was Draco. Clad in his bloodspiked armor, he was supposed to stand out against the backdrop of the grim and dark forestry.

However, some kind of distortion in reality basically erased his presence. He was able to weave through the defensive soldiers positioned around Michael with ease.

Once Draco was finally in a position to strike, the man licked his lips, cutting his own tongue from the sharpness of his teeth.

And that blood dripped down into his mouth, and flowed down into his arms and into his hands.

Eventually, more blood formed and coalesced to create a blood spear, one that seemed to be made out of the depths of hell itself.

Draco smiled before plunging the blood spear right into Michael’s back.

But just before that happened, golden nanoparticles manifested right at the tip of the blood spear, stopping it in its track.

Draco’s eyes widened as he immediately jumped away in shock. He disappeared amongst the dark trees, perched atop one of the branches.

The Rebornian soldiers tried to find the intruder, but could not find him despite seeing him just a second ago.

But Michael spotted him easily.

He looked up at the trees, making eye contact with Draco.

"Hahaha, I didn’t expect that you’d be able to sense my presence," Draco said, squatting in the branches, hands leaning on the bark. "No one has ever come away unharmed from one of my sneak attacks. Except for you."

"I guess I’m special," Michael replied.

"You are," said Draco, his lips dripping blood. "That’s why this victory will be even sweeter than it already is now."

Michael looked at Draco and clicked his switch. Immediately, a beam of Unity manifested in his hands, forming his Saber.

"You won’t get the chance to savor this," he said.

It was at this point that Michael unleashed the power in his Nascent Core.

Using a power that warped reality itself.

He grabbed onto the fabric of reality in front of him, and dragged himself towards Draco’s location in an instant.

Draco’s eyes turned completely wide with fear and apprehension as his instincts warned him of a deathly blow.

Michael appeared right in front of Draco, swinging his Unity Saber towards the blood-armored cultivator.

The Unity Saber missed Draco’s Nascent Armor by just a hair’s breadth. And immediately, Draco jumped back multiple times before he was an entire kilometer away from Michael.

"Woah! Woah! Woah!" he said. "You... you were hiding this kind of power, huh?!"

Michael used his Quantum Step once again, chasing after Draco.

"Why are you running now? I thought you wanted to fight?" he taunted.
