VTX was different from anything any of the group’s members had ever experienced.

Surrounded by people on two, four, or even six legs, it was surreal to see them walk, crawl, or slither.

"Cero!" Tina grabbed his arm. "Let’s go this way! Apparently they have a rave going like 2 minutes away."

"Yes, yes!" Gina said, grabbing his other arm. "Should be cool!"

"Sure, sounds fun." He nodded. "What do you think, Roka?"

She stared for a moment. "Yeah, alright." Roka wasn’t in the best mood. The twins had been smart, deciding to slut it up before leaving the ship.

Gina and Tina, as usual, wore identical clothing. As a top, a skimpy, strapless bralette of thin crisscrossed fabric. Below, tight shorts so short Roka feared their pubic hair might just show.

’Well, we are here on official state business, though. Why would I bring clothes like that?’

Roka felt her clothing was too tame in comparison, having traded her government-issued uniform for simple black pants and a long-sleeved white shirt through which her black bra was slightly visible.

"Let’s gooo!"

The twin sisters celebrated. Both were clearly quite drunk. Roka and Cero hadn’t partaken in the drinking.

It did not take more than wandering through three streets to find the rave area.

Cero found it quite lame, at first.

"So it’s that kind of rave..." Roka sighed.

About three hundred people were standing, dancing, and jumping up and down in an enclosed area.

A DJ was elevated from the ground, but no sound came from the area apart from the sound of shoes clanking against the ground and the ravers’ shouts.

The music resounded at a constant volume through the headsets provided by the rave’s organizers. Apart from bringing the DJ’s music to the ravers’ ears, the headset also allowed the cancellation of unwanted noises so that only the music and the voices of nearby partiers could be heard.

"Why don’t they have the music out?" Tina asked.

"Just what they’re into, maybe." Gina shrugged. "Let’s try it."

Gina went ahead to purchase tickets for the group.

"It probably has to do with the fact that it’s night all the time on VTX." Roka argued.

"Probably." Cero nodded. "Some people are wearing casual clothing while others are in business attire."

Indeed, the people of VTX lived to the beat of their own drums.

There was no night or day, so people either woke up before work or went to sleep right after work. The rest of their day was bent around work, so people did not feel any pressure to wake up at a certain arbitrary time.

’Even now, some are holding their briefcases and yawning on their way to work while others are putting their briefcases down to grab a drink at the bar.’

It was quite chaotic, and Cero felt that energy reverberate within him.

He thought that Lith and Rea would like VTX a lot.

"Some people aren’t even here," Roka said as she pointed.

"Damn, you’re right." Cero chuckled, noticing that there were a couple of holograms in the crowd.

"Long-distance partying," Tina joked. "Looks fun, don’t you think?"

Gina waved at the three, gesturing for them to grab a headset and enter.

Tina ran to join her sister while Roka and Cero took their time.

"We have around 16 hours," Roka muttered after glancing at her watch. "Maybe we should focus on finding where we’ll sleep before..."

Her words trailed off as Cero grabbed her by the wrist, pulled her to the entrance, and put a headset over her head.

"Let’s have some fun now," He said. "Take their example," Cero added while pointing at the twin sisters, who had already become part of the crowd, of the rave.

"Fine, okay... Yeah, sure..."

Roka bobbed her head awkwardly as she listened to the music and stepped towards the crowd.

Before they could enter the group, a raver with sixteen limbs turned towards them.

His face, vaguely reminiscent of an octopus, twisted and contorted wildly. It was impossible to guess if he was happy or pissed off, if he was having fun or if he was in pain. His four arms waved and rippled while twelve lower limbs crisscrossed, moon-walked, and hopped, sometimes simultaneously.

Roka stared at the raver in shock.

"What the fuck...?" She muttered while chuckling nervously.

Cero stepped between Roka and the raver. The latter tilted his head up, eyes narrowing.

Cero stood with his arms crossed for a moment, and the raver’s eyes opened wide as he witnessed two tentacles appearing from behind Cero.

The tentacles rippled and waved just as naturally as his own!

In addition to those two, another four tentacles appeared. These four were different, covered in shiny, brilliant crystals.

The raver’s jaw fell to the ground as Cero’s six tentacles twisted and crisscrossed while the crystals covering four of them played with the neon lights beautifully.

’What’s happening?’ Roka gulped. ’This guy... Is he pissed off or something?’

Indeed, the raver seemed angry. He had stopped dancing completely and was standing as tall as he could manage. His eyes and mouth were shut, and he took a deep breath.

’T-They’re not about to fight, are they?’

The raver smirked, nodded, and extended a tentacle towards Cero.

The latter did the same, and they shook hands... or tentacles.

"W-What was that?" Roka asked as the raver moonwalked away.

"He apologized," Cero explained. "For being unfamiliar with my game."

"Huh? You got all that from a handshake?"

"We shook tentacles." He nodded. "That means a lot to us tentacle-havers."

"O... Okay... Sure... Why not...?"

Loud shouting echoed through the crowd, and everyone stood even closer to one another.

Cero and Roka stepped closer to check it out, just as the people surrounding them started shouting.

"Dance! Battle! Dance! Battle!"

Everyone shouted in unison.

"Seriously?" Roka whispered with a smile.

Cero was amused as well.

At the center of the crowd, the four duelists faced off.

"Twin Dance Battle!"

The twins from Wor had come across twins from a different planet, and the best twin duo must be decided!

Unfortunately, Roka and Cero would end up leaving the area before the victor could be decided, preferring to spend some time alone.
