Xue Rui ignored Qian Huabiao’s shock and took the girl to line up for registration.

Xue Rui was familiar with the registration process. It was the same at every school—the longest lines were always for paying tuition.

Gu Muxue didn’t have Xue Rui wait in line with her, choosing to stand in the queue by herself. On the way here, she’d noticed some of the other female students seemed down. ’They must be anxious about leaving home,’ she mused.

’I thought I’d be sad to leave, that I’d miss my family,’ she reflected. ’But with Xue Rui here today, it feels no different than any other day.’

Xue Rui and Qian Huabiao started chatting idly. Since they had just done the same thing, Qian Huabiao’s opinion of Xue Rui had skyrocketed.

A few student assistants responsible for maintaining order were chatting with some other students nearby, and the two of them joined the conversation.

"That freshman girl is gorgeous. Her parents don’t seem to be around. Should we go ask for her number?" one of them whispered.
