With about twenty thousand left to spend for the day, Damon felt it was incredibly necessary that he improve the stats of the other awakened in his group.

Excluding him, there were currently four other awakened on the team. Kora, Nick, Tristan, and Kite. Now the question was, who was with this investment the most. It would be best and much safer if it were Harvey and Mildred, or even Hazel, who were the awakened—

But Damon wasn’t sure that come tomorrow; this group of people would choose to join some other group or go their separate ways, or even betray him after finding out he could do something so ridiculous as generating such a massive quantity of origin crystals.

It was something to think about, but given the situation, he could only choose to trust them, as there was no way to ensure loyalty from these people. Damon had to build an army of very strong awakeners around himself, and this was only the first step.

Damon requested that Mildred send Nick to his room. Nick’s abilities were essential to the team, so Damon made a trade worth three thousand crystals with him and told him to invest all the crystals in raising his mental stats.

The young man looked flabbergasted, and after calming down, he accepted the trade, thanking Damon with a new understanding of Damon’s broken abilities. This happened with the others as well, all of them having varying degrees of reactions. Nick, Kora, and finally Kite all received three thousand origin crystals each to use in improving their stats, instantly putting most of their effective stats in the twenties, which is on the highest spectrum expected of currently powerful awakeners that aren’t on the rankings.

This expenditure was shocking; Damon’s ability was frightening and also incredibly reassuring. He could see the looks in everyone’s eyes when they looked at him, and take a subtle change. And, as expected, some began to guess that Damon was responsible for the uproar on the chat channels… especially Kora, who was looking at him with squinting eyes before directly asking. Damon skirted around the answer; it was best to keep a few things to himself. The others had their strengths; he needed his own, considering he’s so frail.

With that, Damon’s origin crystal balance came to—

He did a quick trade with Mildred, sending her the extra eight thousand and seventy crystals for provision purchases or emergencies, leaving him with the remaining two hundred thousand origin crystals, which he directly deposited into his skill.

With all these changes, a sense of peace and assurance settled over the mansion; basically, everything in the provisions section was bought in large volume so everyone ate when they wanted and drank when they wanted. In addition, the awakeners had grown stronger, and almost all of them had weapons and defensive gadgets; the rest were due to receive theirs the next day.

Time in the mansion was spent chatting and going through the chat channels while on rotation; someone was positioned to constantly monitor the perimeters for danger.

A few mutants would wander over from time to time and were instantly eradicated, so it was no problem. Still, everyone was watchful for the group that had attempted to infiltrate the mansion the other day.

The night rolled by, and it was morning of the next day; the sixteenth day of the start of the trials, and Brad and his crew were in a minivan driving towards Tessa’s location and fighting off mutants along the way.

The day went by, and Damon’s skill refreshed in the evening, putting his current origin crystal balance at four hundred thousand. After purchasing four more riffles and two shield rings for Tristan and Kite, that balance shrank to —

Damon didn’t wait to look at the second special item of the day. Luckily, the price was still the same, so he was hoping he would be getting the same type of overpowered shield ring, but his jaw dropped at what he saw—

[T-1 CP319 Camouflage Spray]

[Functionality: Conceals your presence from all beings at or below T-1 for five minutes]

“Wait….. Doesn’t this mean…”

Damon was flummoxed; the consequences of such an item were immense. It could save his life in a pinch. The assumption was that no one on the planet had managed to cross above T-O. It was safe to assume that none of the mutants were above that either. So this essentially means Damon could walk free from any mutants for five whole minutes.

It didn’t sound like too long a duration, but five minutes was more than enough time to escape any dangerous situation.

As Damon was admiring the small vial that had appeared in his palm, the chat channels were going crazy…..

[Regional Chat (#058-34)

SlimShadi: “Yooooo!…. It happened again!”

Orion Blackridge: “Who is this senior spending crystals like water?!”

Olivia Parker: “This person must be hacking somehow; how is this even possible?”

TwinkleZion: “Who says it’s the same person?. It might just be two different people. “

AllSeeingEyes: “@TwinkleZion true, but still; this is just insane. Ten thousand origin crystals?. Who is this guy, or who are these guys? “

LagLord69: “Senior, if you are seeing this, wanna form a team together? “

GrampsOtaku: “@LagLord69 it’s a shame, no one even knows their ID.”

CryMorePls: “Is it because of some measly ten thousand origin crystals that you pansies are making such a fuss? What if I told you I was the one who made the purchase?. “

SlimShadi: “CryMorePls STFU. Nobody called you here”

CrystalMeth: “Anybody got a few crystals to spare?. Please, I am starving.

]

Damon sighed as he looked at the chats; it was really not a good idea to have his identity discovered at the moment. Staying off the radar until he had enough confidence in his ability to escape whatever danger would present itself was the best way to go.

“Hmm…this is quite an interesting development; I wonder what I might get tomorrow.”

The thought of what other good thing he might receive the next day was quite thrilling; with that thought, Damon deposited the rest of his origin crystals into his skill.
