Rebirth In A Global Apocalypse: I Awakened The Hidden Class 'Rich Man'
Chapter 60: Its Time To leave
"You! Wake up now!"
"Where is she?!"
"Where’s who, boss?"
BHAM!
"Tessa, you nitwit!. Where’s my Tessa?!"
Andrew received a punch to the guts as the sleep cleared from his eyes. Seeing the state Brad was in, and hearing his words, he knew he had messed up. He was placed in charge of making sure no one came through this living room for that very reason.
Andrew hastily got up and began looking through the penthouse, the rest of the guys coming out from the guest room as well, and soon, it was confirmed that Tessa had escaped.
"Shit!.... I know who must have done this. It’s that group of bastards she’s always been talking to!. Who cares anymore...lets just get rid of all of them!"
Brad sneered as he began to move out of the penthouse. Reaching the exclusive elevator, he saw that access had been restricted, so they all went to the general elevator and took it straight down to the twentieth floor.
Brad didn’t bother knocking; using his immense strength, nurtured by continually improving his stats; he sent a kick flying at the locking mechanism of the door as it burst open.
"You’ve done it now, cousin!"
"Come out here and die!"
Brad yelled in anger as he and his group began ransacking the entire apartment, but after doing this for a few minutes, the color began to drain from Brad’s face as one of his guys nervously walked up to him—
"Boss... they aren’t here... maybe they took another apartment to hide in."
"What are you waiting for them?! Go!... search every single apartment in this building; from top to bottom!"
"Yes, Boss!"
The group chorused as they made haste, distributing the floors to check amongst themselves, as Brad sat inside apartment 20C, sending repeated messages to Tessa, but she wasn’t responding.
"Tessa.....after everything.....!’ Brad seethed, flames igniting around his body, veins bulging on his skull as he added.
"I will find you... no matter where you are. You are mine, Tessa!"
An hour went by, and one of Brad’s henchmen walked even more nervously into the apartment as he informed Brad—
"Boss.... She’s not in the building.... None of them are."
BOOM!
Brad slammed his fiery fist into the desk to his side; the object shattered into smithereens as he gritted his teeth, instructing—
"Call Olivia to come here right now!"
The young man ran out, and after a few minutes, a middle-aged lady with long brown hair wearing tight-fitting blue jeans and a white blouse walked into the room and went to sit opposite Brad.
"Why did you disturb my beauty rest?. I told i, i won’t be like one of your henchmen."
"Just shut up, Olivia!. Time to make yourself useful, or we cut you loose." Brad said sternly to the woman, who was taken aback since he had never talked to her that way before.
"What do you need me to do?" she asked cautiously, acknowledging the severity of the situation.
"It’s simple; use that weird ability of yours to track my girlfriend. Do it now!"
"Sigh... It’s not so direct; I have to make some preparations first for a tracking spell."
"Then get to it. That’s the only thing you are good for after all..... Witch!"
Olivia frowned but said nothing in retort; she stood and said to Brad.
"I will need some things from her room; is that okay?"
"So, as you please. Just give me results as soon as possible."
As Olivia rode the elevator to the penthouse floor, she began to think about how her life had changed. She used to be a famous model, and even though she had gotten lesser roles the more she aged, she was still incredibly gorgeous and rich, and she still got worthwhile endorsements. She was in the prime of her life; she should be enjoying the fruits of her labor, but everything had come crashing down.
She had awakened a unique class: Witch. Since it was a unique class, Olivia thought that it would be very powerful, but the only spell she knew, presented as a skill, was tracking the location of a subject after going through some complicated ritual.
Joining Brad’s crew was a desperate need to survive, but she didn’t like the young man, not one bit.
"No wonder his girlfriend ran away," Olivia murmured with a snicker on her lips as she went into the penthouse to begin.
A bout thirty minutes later in apartment 20C, Olivia returned looking tired as she said to Brad—
"Their last location was at the state college."
"Shit!..... And what do you mean by their last location?. What about their current location?"
"I don’t know, boss; I can only ping where she is at the moment, not what happens after that; and you know this skill has a cooldown."
"Shit... so fucking useless!"
Brad muttered as he stood up from the sofa and walked out of the apartment to the corridor where the others in his group were waiting, all looking nervous. Brad’s anger was almost palpable.
"What do we do now, boss?" Andrew asked from the side. They had a nice setup in the building. Hunting and earning crystals with minimal casualties. But at the end of the day, Brad was their leader, and unlike what others think, most of them knew that Brad wasn’t an ordinary esper awakened.
"Everyone!.... start making preparations.... It’s time to leave."
"But boss... we can’t just...."
BOOM!
One of Brad’s henchmen received a fireball to the chest, slamming him into the wall of the corridor. Everyone got quiet, and one by one, they began suggesting a plan of escape from the building and a way to quickly reach the state college.
"Boss, why don’t we make use of the residents as cannon fodder?. I mean... everyone is already so scared about the fake news of a horde headed this way." One of the twins suggested, the other nodding, while the rest of the gang still looked uncomfortable doing something so brutal.
"See... that’s why you two will always be my best guys," Brad uttered with a stretching smile.
"It’s time to put these useless masses to use."
