Unlike the first aspect of his class skill that felt fully formed, Damon could intuitively tell that ~BANK VAULT has barely even reached a fraction of its potential.

And just like with the first aspect of his skill, there also seem to be some caveats to this one. What Damon was getting at the moment was that as long as an object or material was rightfully his, he could place them into this liminal subspace.

’So this is an awakener skill.....Are they all this impressive?’ Damon pondered.

Brad’s ability appeared to be of the Esper class, freely wielding flames of extreme temperatures which he could launch at his target. Harvey had explained that the young man used that power intuitively right after suddenly awakening during the earlier battle in the living room.

Though it was a different experience to see that power in person, Brad was currently a walking, talking superhuman.

For the twins, they appear to be of the warrior class, with incredible physical prowess as well as special fighting techniques to boot. This is all Damon presently knows of powers, classes, and skills.

He also knows there were unique classes out there, or maybe even unique hidden classes like his own. This caused him to wonder just how incredible those other people’s abilities must be.

Damon slowly placed his right hand on his chest, his eyes closed as he dove into this subconscious; Hazel, who was watching from the side, seated next to Damon, couldn’t help but have a look of worry, thinking Damon must be suffering from the pains of his injuries.

Damon, on the other hand, was gauging the current limits of the absurd ability he had awakened. His intuition told him that this subspace would grow alongside him when he ascends a life limit; whatever that meant.

And though this space was growing, it was growing super slowly, and his own personal growth would dictate its subsequent jumps in rate of growth. As Damon’s will dove into this power, along with its current limits, he was also being funneled with little bits of information regarding its potential.

If nurtured properly, even Damon, in flesh and blood, could one day materialize in this subspace, and maybe even do more things with it. The details were murky, and more of an intuition. Since the only thing Damon can actively do at the moment is bring what’s his into this space.

Damon had not awakened any combat skills as he had hoped, and he was also weaker than ever, along with a curse from some power he had unintentionally pissed off.

However, Damon found himself feeling not so helpless anymore with these abilities. It was now all dependent on whether or not the Origin Store would prove a powerful tool, seeing as he couldn’t raise his stats with said origin crystals.

’Origin Store’

Being more conversant with the system, Damon only had to have this thought for the Origin Store display to blossom into view before him, characters shimmering in iridescently and taking shape with a pronounced purple hue; several items coming into display orderly, from

rations, to weapons, to protective gear, to objects he had never even seen before in both his lives...

’This is incredible,’ Damon murmured.

it was an array of options, and all of these items were labelled as Tier Zero... with several other items greyed out, showing they were currently inaccessible, probably requiring some condition to be met.

Damon surveyed the Origin store, going through multiple of its listings with a lighter heart. It appears his awakened skill would be more useful than he expected.

There was also a special item section that had only a single item, which was greyed out in a brighter color but had a cost listed and could clearly be bought.

There was also a timer next to this item set for seven days.

However, this item was incredibly costly, requiring a whopping five thousand Origin Crystals. It was simply ridiculous seeing how hard these crystals were to get.

Other Tier Zero items in the store had prices ranging from one Origin Crystal to a hundred or more. But there was nothing Damon could currently purchase at the moment for one simple reason....

[Origin Crystals: 0]

His Origin crystal balance was currently zero.

Damon sighed, relaxing his back into the sofa. He now had a pretty useful skill, but he had no crystals; And since origin crystals are non-transferable... Damon would have to personally kill a mutant if he ever hopes to use his ability.

’Ah... Is that even possible for me to do?’

The image of what had transpired earlier in his room came to mind; being up close with that monstrosity would put him in a helpless position.

Unless someone strong was to hold down a mutant for him, after having weakened it considerably, he could then land the final blow.....Damon pondered. It was a real dilemma.

"What are you thinking so deeply about?..... Are you perhaps worried about Lady Mildred and Sir Harvey?" Hazel intoned from the side.

"I guess I am," Damon muttered, returning his thoughts to the present.

"You don’t have to be, though..."

"I have seen those two fight..... They’re very strong.... "

"And a little scary even"

Hazel added in an attempt to assuage Damon’s worries. Though her mind ran through the chilling recollection of Mildred cleaving into her former classmates turned mutants with mere kitchen knives—

And Harvey’s flawless execution of precision shots mixed with fluid evasions. Clearly, those two weren’t ordinary, which wasn’t surprising, seeing who they served. As someone with a background in combat, Hazel could tell just how strong they were.

Yet, when she recalls those three who were formerly her ordinary classmates, now wielding such scary prowess, it brings to mind just how much things had changed, and how ordinary strength might no longer cut it.

With more of such monsters parading the world now, Hazel could only worry if her kid brother would truly remain safe until she found her way to him.

What was giving her a little peace of mind was the fact that her kid brother, too, was among the lucky ones to awaken. They were also in constant communication.

"Mind if I ask how you became friends with my cousin?"

Damon decided to engage Hazel in conversation to not only distract himself from the growing need for slumber heavily gnawing at him even in their present predicament—

But also to distract himself from worrying about his attendants. It would seem he had not only inherited memories from the former Damon, but also feelings. The former Damon, in his own way, had come to be fond of those two.

"Ah... You mean Brad?...."

"...we aren’t friends."
