Rebirth: Clinging to My Possessive Magnate
Chapter 1393: Forget About It
Chapter 1393: Chapter 1393: Forget About It
"I’m going out with Sophie tomorrow to unwind a bit. Let Clarissa know when you get back," Charles Seymour said, finishing his sentence, making Old Mr. Seymour nearly throw the phone at Charles’s face.
Unfortunately, Old Mr. Seymour wasn’t fast enough, as the call had already ended.
Charles easily solved everything, while Sophie Wilson was still chatting happily away with Clarissa Taylor on the phone, laughing and talking cheerfully.
He didn’t interrupt but went and changed his clothes.
When he came out, Sophie had finished the call and asked him, "Did you tell Clarissa?"
"Yeah, I told Grandpa, and Clarissa’s asleep," Charles said calmly.
"Asleep?" Sophie looked at Charles in surprise, "It’s still early for her to sleep, isn’t it?"
"Grandpa said Clarissa was tired from playing this afternoon." Charles spoke with such seriousness that there wasn’t a hint of guilt in his demeanor.
"Yeah, true, that little rascal..." Sophie shook her head with a smile.
Her son seemed well-behaved, but he was actually quite energetic.
He was only well-behaved in her presence; other times, he was quite lively.
Since everything was settled, Sophie had no more instructions to give. Charles had booked the flights and hotel, and they had only packed a few essentials for their departure tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Old Mr. Seymour, who had just hung up the phone, entered Clarissa’s toy room with a dark expression. Clarissa was happily battling with her toys while Old Mrs. Seymour looked at him and asked, "What’s wrong?"
"It’s that guy Charles..." Old Mr. Seymour sighed lightly and waved at Clarissa, "Come here, my dear."
Upon hearing the old man’s voice, Clarissa immediately looked up.
Seeing such a well-behaved Clarissa made Old Mr. Seymour feel a wave of heartache; how could Charles bear to bully such an adorable child?
"Your mom and dad have urgent business at the company and need to travel. Can you stay at Grandpa’s place for a few days?" Old Mr. Seymour discussed with Clarissa.
"Okay." Clarissa nodded obediently, as long as mom comes back, she knows sometimes mom has things to do.
"Oh, my sweet little Clarissa." The more understanding Clarissa was, the more Old Mr. Seymour felt a pang of emotion, internally cursing Charles thoroughly.
That evening, after Old Mrs. Seymour coaxed Clarissa to sleep, she returned to her bedroom and finally asked, "What’s going on?"
He could deceive Clarissa with his words, but he couldn’t fool her.
"That rascal Charles went traveling with Sophie and asked me to inform Clarissa," Old Mr. Seymour said irritably, "Why does that brat always have so much going on?"
"Charles and Sophie going out for fun isn’t a good thing?" Old Mrs. Seymour glanced skeptically at Old Mr. Seymour, "Doesn’t it show they have a good relationship?"
"It’s just that they threw Clarissa here?" Old Mr. Seymour protested.
"How is it ’throwing her here?’ Don’t you want to spend time with Clarissa?" Old Mrs. Seymour truly felt that the older this man got, the more nonsensical he became.
"Of course, I do. I just think..."
"Alright, you don’t have to think anymore," Old Mrs. Seymour wasn’t willing to discuss further, "Quickly go to sleep so you can take Clarissa out to play tomorrow."
Since his wife put it like that, what else could Old Mr. Seymour say?
If he dared say anything bad about Charles now, he’d end up getting thoroughly scolded by his own wife.
Sigh...
Forget it.
